Sheamus vs. Cesaro Feud Is Good Timing for Both Superstars

Posted by Justin LaBar On August - 28 - 2014
It seems we're at the beginning of Cesaro feuding with Sheamus, and I like it. These two guys and WWE need this feud. It plays to a lot of strengths. Both men get a loyal following from the international market given their European backgrounds. It might seem like a trivial point, but pitting the Swiss and Irish in a feud provides good timing, considering WWE is taking the valuable WWE Network international from now through the start of October. The European wrestling fans are extremely loyal. They're loyal to WWE's product and will stay up at odd hours to watch it. They are ...

The Big Show and Mark Henry Are the Next Great Pairing in WWE

Posted by Tom Clark On August - 28 - 2014
The Big Show and Mark Henry have recently been paired as a tag team on WWE programming.  The World's Largest Athlete and The World's Strongest Man are quite the impressive duo, mostly because of their size and the strength they possess. And while many WWE fans are likely very accustomed to the company populating its tag team division with mismatched duos, the fact is that this time it's a bit different.  In many ways, Show and Henry are the next great pairing in WWE. It seems like such an obvious team, and one that likely could have been formed a long time ...

WWE Reportedly Interested in Working with Ronda Rousey?

Posted by Sharon Glencross On August - 27 - 2014
Could UFC star Ronda Rousey be on the verge of working with WWE? Per one recent report, the company is talking about it. As WWE noted on its official site, Rousey and the rest of her Four Horsewomen stable—MMA fighters Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler—were backstage at last week's SummerSlam pay-per-view in Los Angeles taking pictures and hanging out with various wrestlers. Per Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), it appears the charismatic Rousey made a positive impression on people in management, and the feeling is she may be asked to do something with the company in the future: From ...

WWE Main Event Results: Winners, Twitter Reaction and Analysis from August 26

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On August - 26 - 2014
Welcome to Bleacher Report's recap of this week's Main Event. Here is where we take a look at what happened on the show, examining the winners, reactions to matches and any possible ramifications coming out of the program. The big match advertised for this week was RVD taking on Seth Rollins. We've seen these two face off several times in recent months, usually with Rollins being the winner. This was also a very video package-heavy show. A long video was shown for the Brock Lesnar and John Cena feud, with all of the other big angles from Raw getting a quicker recap. In ...

Where Does Jack Swagger Go from Here?

Posted by Chris Featherstone On August - 26 - 2014
Admittedly, Jack Swagger's overall feud with Rusev has been quite entertaining. Swagger, already having a patriotic-heavy gimmick, was the perfect person to intercept the path of Rusev's Russian-sympathizing dominance. Moreover, it surely helps that Swagger has a legendary mouthpiece in Zeb Colter, shooting witty ripostes to every demeaning statement tossed by Lana. Despite this feud that led to a hard-hitting match at Battleground, where does Swagger go from here?  Thankfully, this has been the best we have seen from Swagger. However, that is not saying very much. Let's take a stroll down Swagger memory lane: He conquers ECW in a very C-rated talent pool ...
The move to Wednesday nights for Impact Wrestling was an abrupt change, but TNA pulled out all the stops for the first episode in the new time slot by putting on an unforgettable edition of Hardcore Justice. The key for TNA this week will be keeping the hype for its product as high as possible to ensure that hardcore and casual Impact Wrestling fans remember that the show is now a night earlier and either watch it live or set their DVR. With the first chapter in a tag team championship series between The Wolves, The Hardys and Team 3D in the ...

Why Brock Lesnar Should Beat John Cena at Night of Champions

Posted by Team Stream Now On August - 26 - 2014
John Cena was booked every bit as strongly as Brock Lesnar on Monday's Raw. In a main event match against top star Bray Wyatt, Cena dominated his WrestleMania XXX opponent with suplexes. It was no secret WWE was telling a story of a better, faster and stronger Cena. One who would present stiffer competition than the Cena who showed up at Staples Center last Sunday. So does this mean Cena is a legitimate threat to beat Lesnar in their rematch at Night of Champions? Possibly. But should he? No. Lesnar's last two victories have changed the landscape of WWE while affecting long-term business. These wins were showcased on ...

John Cena Should Not Regain WWE Title at Night of Champions

Posted by Sharon Glencross On August - 26 - 2014
One thing is for sure: At the Night of Champions pay-per-view next month, Vince McMahon must resist the urge to put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship back on John Cena. He must allow Brock Lesnar to retain the belt. It's easy to see why Cena winning at the pay-per-view would be an appealing option to the bookers. Unlike Lesnar, he's a full-time performer who can appear on every episode of Raw and at house shows. You don't have to write around his absences. People in WWE management may also be concerned that they made the star look too weak and vulnerable at SummerSlam when ...

Dolph Ziggler Will Not Return to the Main Event Picture in 2014

Posted by Alfred Konuwa On August - 26 - 2014
Dolph Ziggler appears to have salvaged what has been a forgettable 2014. Following a 2013 that saw Ziggler's biggest moment in WWE to date, his momentum fell off a cliff after he suffered an untimely concussion. A fan favorite with one of WWE's premiere cult followings, he enjoyed only a brief World Heavyweight Championship run before dropping the title back to Alberto Del Rio. It wasn't long before Ziggler fell out of the world heavyweight title picture for good prior to the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships being unified. Ziggler's Intercontinental Championship victory last week at SummerSlam was a nice consolation prize. But ...
