WWE Survivor Series 2014 Results: Losers Who Will Rebound at TLC

Posted by Sharon Glencross On November - 25 - 2014
Expect a few of the people who lost at Survivor Series to rebound at TLC next month—WWE's even-stevens booking mentality all but guarantees it. AJ Lee AJ Lee lost her Divas Championship to Nikki Bella in just 33 seconds after a distraction—in the form of a kiss—from Brie Bella. She also lost again to Nikki on Monday's Raw. Interestingly, Mike Johnson of PWInsider dismissed rumors that Lee could potentially be on her way out of the company, saying there were no issues between her and WWE right now. So Lee will probably get another match at TLC—one that is much competitive. As for whether ...

WWE Survivor Series 2014: Most Questionable Moments from PPV

Posted by Tom Clark On November - 25 - 2014
WWE Survivor Series took place Sunday, November 23 and will go down as one of the most historic nights in company history.  The reason for that is because Sting finally made his debut when he interrupted the main event and prevented Triple H from securing a victory for Team Authority. And while fans are undoubtedly buzzing over the results of Survivor Series, the fact is that there were some questionable moments.  Those moments may not be that apparent to some, but considering the event's explosive finale, they were nothing if not painfully obvious.   Nikki Bella defeats AJ Lee to become the new ...

Brock Lesnar’s WWE Title Reign Is Floundering Due to Lack of TV Time

Posted by Sharon Glencross On November - 25 - 2014
It is not harsh to say that Brock Lesnar’s run with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship has been deeply disappointing and, in general, a major missed opportunity for WWE and its fans. It’s easy to see why WWE made the call to put the belt on Lesnar at SummerSlam. He was—and still is—a great monster heel. He was also the man who destroyed The Undertaker’s legendary streak at WrestleMania 30, practically guaranteeing WWE had to continue pushing him to the moon. No doubt WWE felt that Paul Heyman would be an appropriate replacement for his client on Raw and SmackDown. With Heyman ...
Beeps from a computer on a podium ended the post-Survivor Series edition of Raw as WWE went back to an angle that flopped the first time around—the anonymous general manager. Fan disinterest will doom this storyline, but WWE should already know that. The concept flopped hard in its first inception. In 2010, Nexus stormed the WWE like barbarians, tearing up rings and leaving men like John Cena lying. The invading rookies, led by Wade Barrett, cost Bret Hart his job as Raw GM. Vince McMahon blamed Hart for all the Nexus attacks and the general turmoil the company was in. McMahon handed power over to a ...

WWE Classic of the Week: John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler from TLC 2012

Posted by Erik Beaston On November - 25 - 2014
The 2014 Survivor Series saw Dolph Ziggler rise to the occasion, becoming the sole survivor of the Team Cena vs. Team Authority main event and turning in one of the finest performances of his critically acclaimed career. It was the latest instance of The Showoff benefiting from a significant push by management, but it was not the first. In 2012, fans witnessed Ziggler's first real run atop World Wrestling Entertainment. Beginning in November at Survivor Series and running well into the new year, The Showoff would battle the likes of John Cena and Randy Orton, scoring wins over the top two stars ...
Following a very newsworthy Survivor Series pay-per-view, many fans wondered how WWE would follow up on Raw and if the company could maintain the momentum from Sunday's show. In short, the answer was no. The Authority exited stage left, and Daniel Bryan returned, taking over the company's flagship show for the evening. Those who sided with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon on Sunday night got a small taste of what awaits them in the future when Bryan booked them all in matches against the same men they battled at the pay-per-view. Even with the arrival of Bryan and what should have been a ...
On the heels of a historic Survivor Series pay-per-view that saw the rise of Dolph Ziggler, the fall of The Authority and the debut of Sting, a World Wrestling Entertainment in flux rolled into Bankers Life Fieldhouse for the November 24 episode of Monday Night Raw. Who would assume power over the company with Triple H and Stephanie's reign at an end? More importantly, would Sting have anything to do with it? Speaking of the Icon, why did he choose Survivor Series to make his first appearance inside a Vince McMahon-owned ring? Was it related to the tyrannical rule of The Authority, ...

Posted by Mike Chiari On November - 24 - 2014
After several months on the shelf due to various injuries, Daniel Bryan made his long-awaited return to WWE programming tonight at Monday Night Raw.  WWE welcomed him back: With Triple H and Stephanie McMahon talking to the WWE Universe about Team Authority's loss to Team Cena at Survivor Series, Bryan stormed to the ring leading a raucous "Yes" chant that had the crowd in a frenzy.  Bryan informed the crowd that he's in charge of Raw for at least one evening:  He wasted little time in using his authority, giving Kane a brand new title: Bryan also announced that Luke Harper will defend the Intercontinental ...

Survivor Series exceeded all expectations and ended up delivering some of the greatest moments the WWE Universe has seen in months. Not only did Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt have a great match, but the main event provided numerous opportunities for the crowd to chant "This is awesome!" Dolph Ziggler was the hero of the night after he came back from a three-on-one handicap to win the Elimination Match and put The Authority out of power, but the big story everyone will be talking about is who helped Ziggler overcome ...

Report: News on WWE’s Plans for Sting Going Forward

Posted by Sharon Glencross On November - 24 - 2014
Legendary WCW star Sting made his debut for WWE at Survivor Series—although, per a recent report, fans may want to rule out the veteran appearing on television this week. "For those of you wondering if Sting will appear on Monday Night Raw tonight, I am told the plan was for him to only appear on the PPV this week," noted Mike Johnson of PWInsider.  Interestingly, Johnson went on to say that Sting vs. The Undertaker is still tentatively scheduled for WrestleMania 31 next year even though the ending of Survivor Series appeared to signal a Sting-Triple H clash at the show instead. Sting ...
