The first-round matchups are as follows:    Dolph Ziggler vs. Bad News Barrett R-Truth vs. Stardust Sheamus vs. Dean Ambrose Neville vs. Luke Harper PWMania's Jason Solomon envisions a Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler final: The King of the Ring used to occupy its own pay-per-view on the WWE calendar, but it was relegated to Raw and SmackDown beginning in 2006 as popularity for the event waned. The PPV is arguably most notable for serving ...

Roman Reigns’ Booking at WWE Extreme Rules Was a Huge Success

Posted by Aaron Bower On April - 27 - 2015
Even though Extreme Rules was largely a hit-and-miss pay-per-view, there were one or two moments that could be hailed as a success. And after a good few months of toiling away in the face of plenty of adversity from WWE fans, it feels like it all finally clicked for Roman Reigns on the big stage once again. Let's not forget that when The Shield split around this time last year, Reigns was the guy who had built up a healthy following and a decent amount of popularity. That had been achieved by, as well as a number of other things, just good old ...

Several Superstars gained a lot of momentum with big wins, especially Roman Reigns. His win over Big Show was one of the highlights of the night, but Big Show also deserves credit for making the match enjoyable on every level. We also saw The New Day win their first Tag Team Championship with a victory over Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. Their bout came close to stealing the show, and now that they have some momentum, they should really take off as heels. It was ...

WWE Extreme Rules 2015 Results: Biggest Winners and Losers from PPV

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On April - 27 - 2015
By most accounts, Extreme Rules 2015 was a great show. It was filled with memorable moments and incredible performances by some of the best WWE has to offer. New tag team champions were crowned, Neville picked up his first pay-per-view win and every former member of The Shield was victorious in his respective match. Many Superstars came away from the event with a big boost in momentum, while others were taken down a notch for one reason or another. The most important thing is that the show as a whole was definitely enjoyable. If you watched Extreme Rules and didn't have a good ...

WWE in Danger of Depleting Rusev’s Momentum at Payback

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On April - 27 - 2015
WWE will be hacking a monster at the knees if it pins another loss on Rusev at Payback. Rather than portray Rusev as a formidable force going forward, the company has set itself up to derail the bruiser's journey. A potentially momentum-erasing loss awaits him in an "I Quit" match at the upcoming pay-per-view. Wins and losses, of course, don't tell the entire story in pro wrestling. The timing and quality of those victories and defeats are important to consider as well.    Both of these elements are working against Rusev here. At Extreme Rules, he hit the canvas courtesy of an Attitude Adjustment, ...

Amidst all the underwhelming moments during the recent Extreme Rules pay-per-view, the announcement that King of the Ring will return for the first time in five years was a rare highlight. A quick scan through the previous winners of the tournament is like reading a who's who of WWE legends, with names such as Randy Savage, Bret Hart and Steve Austin all having won the tournament at some point in their illustrious careers. With some first-round matches likely to take place on the edition of Raw following Extreme Rules, and a live special on the WWE Network on Tuesday, we'll know who ...

WWE Payback 2015: Full Card Predictions After Extreme Rules

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On April - 27 - 2015
The animosity and controversy that Extreme Rules created will make it easy for WWE Payback 2015 to live up to its name. Rusev, Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton will be in search of retribution when WWE's next pay-per-view arrives. Rusev already has an I Quit match set up. Ziggler and Orton are safe bets to join him on the card and get another crack at their enemies.  At Extreme Rules, each of those men left Chicago enraged. For Ziggler, it was a post-match embarrassment courtesy of Sheamus that has him seething. Orton's issues will be with his title match ending in chaotic ...
