With just six days until Elimination Chamber and Dean Ambrose's WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins, The Authority was in complete damage-control mode as Raw hit the USA Network airwaves. Hellbent on keeping the Lunatic Fringe from the title opportunity they agreed to last week, Triple H and Stephanie promised him his match only if Ambrose signed the official contract. It would not be as simple as signing on the dotted line, though. Instead, Ambrose would have to overcome an arrest stemming from an accidental assault on an innocent cameraman, the result of a shove from Rollins. Would he be able ...

WWE Raw: Live Results, Reaction and Analysis for May 25

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On May - 25 - 2015
Welcome to Bleacher Report's live WWE Raw coverage for May 25. The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view is Sunday, and that means a lot of the focus will be on building those storylines as quickly as possible. WWE only gave itself two weeks between Payback and EC to make the show interesting. Somehow, the company managed to put together a card with some real potential. Two Chamber matches for the Intercontinental and Tag Team Championships are scheduled to take place along with three other title bouts. While the Chamber is usually a fun match, the one that may be most anticipated is Kevin Owens vs. John Cena. After ...
Before either Seth Rollins or Dean Ambrose was within reach of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, before The Shield claimed its first victim, they were digging their claws into each other. The title feud heading into Elimination Chamber is one that pits two men who thrived on the independent circuit against each other. It's a battle between two young, talented wrestlers who WWE could potentially lean on as cornerstones for years to come. And while so many of WWE's stories are brief, over in just months, Ambrose vs. Rollins is one with chapter after chapter. It's a story of a man who has ...
This weekend's WWE Elimination Chamber special is bound to feature some great individual performances.  While singles matches of Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose and John Cena vs. Kevin Owens are sure to be crowd-pleasers, it's in the multiperson bouts where we're likely to see some of the best in-ring work. Here's a look at some under-the-radar WWE Superstars who will exceed expectations heading into the WWE Elimination Chamber at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday and turn in performances we'll talk about the next morning.    Ryback The Big Guy is heading into the Elimination Chamber with momentum. Over the last three weeks, Ryback has been on a ...

WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for May 25

The Memorial Day edition of WWE Raw concludes the construction of the Elimination Chamber's groundwork, as the short build between events comes to a close already. On May 25, WWE travels to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, with plenty on the agenda for its go-home show. The company has several title matches to hype. The next chapters of storylines centered around Lana, John Cena and Dean Ambrose are on their way as well. WWE also has a movie to help promote and likely a giant to welcome back. The Elimination Chamber card is essentially set. It's time now to crank ...
Things are happening quickly in WWE, as WWE Payback 2015 was just over a week ago, and the WWE Superstar Power Rankings remain largely unchanged since then.  Now it's already time for another WWE Network event, Elimination Chamber 2015. We know of five matches for Elimination Chamber.  In the Elimination Chamber match for the Intercontinental Championship, Ryback, Sheamus, King Barrett, R-Truth, Rusev and Dolph Ziggler will compete for the title.  Also, The New Day will defend the WWE Tag Team Championships inside the Chamber against Cesaro and Tyson Kidd, The Ascension, The Lucha Dragons, the Prime Time Players and Los Matadores. Current NXT champion ...
Following the debut of Samoa Joe, NXT can no longer be considered a developmental territory. The promotion's top stars consist of a fantasy slate of independent wrestling alumni, including Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Hideo Itami and now Samoa Joe. The median age of that core talent is 33, which hardly suggests NXT is prepared to usher in the long-term future of WWE. As I mentioned during this week's PodNasty Wrestling Podcast, with the addition of Samoa Joe, NXT is now a hybrid promotion. Gone are the days of the WWE developmental territory being judged strictly on blue-chippers and potential. With many ...
There is little debate that Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat was one of the most successful professional wrestlers who ever laced up the boots. His matches with Ric Flair are legendary, and his battle with Randy Savage at WrestleMania 3 ranks up there with the greatest of all time. But if you aren't familiar with Ricky's son, Richie Steamboat, don't feel too bad. Though Richie seemed to be well on his way to following in his father's foot steps, it never materialized. Richie was signed to a WWE developmental contract and competed in Florida Championship Wrestling, which later became NXT. While there, he ...

NXT Continues to Be Hallmark for Women’s Wrestling in WWE

Posted by Aaron Bower On May - 23 - 2015
Over the past six months or so, NXT has grown to be much more than a developmental brand for the main roster in WWE. That has perhaps been proved more than ever by the signing of Samoa Joe to the brand, but there are plenty of other reasons why NXT is a standalone wrestling entity, including its women's division. On the main roster, Divas wrestling hasn't really lit up too many television screens in recent years. The likes of AJ Lee and Paige have been superb for the division, but the exposure women's wrestling gets on the main roster makes it very ...

WWE Superstar of the Week for May 23

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On May - 23 - 2015
WWE had an extremely busy week with Payback on May 17, Raw the following night, NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable and SmackDown. With all that wrestling goodness packed into just five days, it should come as no surprise that several different Superstars and Divas churned out memorable performances. Payback certainly featured some great moments, but many would argue that TakeOver was a better show overall. NXT has made a habit out of making its live specials better than most pay-per-views, and this was no exception. Before we get to the main event, so to speak, let's take a look at some of the people who ...
