WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for June 29

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On June - 29 - 2015
The June 29 edition of WWE Raw will focus on the aftereffects of attacks, both physical and psychological. As WWE prepares for Battleground 2015, Roman Reigns will be trying to shake off the disturbing exploits of Bray Wyatt. John Cena, meanwhile, will be recovering from an attack that left him unable to walk on his own a few weeks ago. The Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., hosts the action. Fans in Chocolate City will also see Ryback fend off a pair of challengers and Rusev show off his romantic side. Injuries will keep Monday's Raw from featuring some key contributors to the tag team division. ...

Seth Rollins Should Remain Heel over the Long Term

Posted by Alfred Konuwa On June - 28 - 2015
The countdown to the Seth Rollins babyface turn has begun. Rollins will be in the always awkward role as the much smaller heel in a match against living, breathing beast Brock Lesnar. WWE continues to tease tension between him and The Authority, and a match against consummate heel Triple H almost seems inevitable. According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline (h/t WrestlingInc.com), there are plans for a Rollins-Triple H feud with Rollins playing the role of babyface. If Rollins comes out of his feud against Lesnar and makes it to SummerSlam as a full-fledged heel, many would consider this an upset. Just look at the ...
The Prime Time Players feel wrong as tag team champions in a division with so many strong options. Their win at Money in the Bank over scorching hot heels The New Day came out of nowhere. It was not preceded by a chase or any intense buildup. As I mentioned on the PodNasty Wrestling Podcast, to quickly extinguish The New Day's previous run without building to a crescendo hurts The New Day, The Prime Time Players and the tag team division. The New Day evolved over the course of months to become one of WWE's top acts. We can't say the same about ...
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Erick Rowan is going to miss roughly the next six months after suffering a torn biceps. It's conceivable to believe he'll be out longer. That is a crushing blow for him and tag team partner Luke Harper.Harper and Rowan had recently been reunited after having singles runs. Harper proved that he could handle the singles division, becoming Intercontinental champion. But that wasn't the case with Rowan, who floundered on the roster without his tag team partner. The fact that Rowan couldn't get over as a singles wrestler was likely one of the biggest reasons the team ...

Seth Rollins and WWE’s Top 10 Best Heels of the “PG Era”

Posted by Graham GSM Matthews On June - 27 - 2015
To be a great and effective heel in wrestling is considered an art form. The legendary likes of Bobby Heenan, Ric Flair and even Vince McMahon himself have mastered it, while others such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Goldberg and Rikishi have struggled to meet the same standard they set. With as much young blood as there is at the top of WWE today, there is a stunning lack of roster depth and credible heels. Bray Wyatt, Kane, Big Show, King Barrett and Rusev have all been floundering for some time and don't elicit strong reactions due to their poor booking as ...

WWE Superstar of the Week for June 27

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On June - 27 - 2015
Now that Brock Lesnar has returned to reclaim what he feels was stolen from him at WrestleMania 31, things are getting dangerous for Seth Rollins. However, things are even more dangerous if you are one of his cronies. Jamie Noble was injured Monday following an attack from The Beast Incarnate. With all the Lesnar-Rollins drama, it's easy to forget that other storylines are also happening at the same time. Before we get to the Superstar of the Week, let's look at a few people who deserve a shout-out.   Honorable Mention: Jamie Noble Despite being put into the role of a stooge, Jamie Noble has always been ...

WWE Programming’s Best Match for Week of June 20

Posted by Brad Jones On June - 27 - 2015
The last several weeks have seen WWE forced to keep things interesting thanks to a packed schedule of pay-per-views and special events. Now that things are slowing down, there are signs that the television product is being weakened as a result. We're seeing fewer standout matches and less direction in terms of ongoing storytelling. The constant need to build to the next event does offer up its own challenges, but for the most part, it makes for much more captivating television. All that being said, there were a few bright spots in an otherwise perfunctory week. Here are the most essential bouts ...

Breaking Down the Best and Worst of the WWE for Week of June 22

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On June - 26 - 2015
WWE's big bruisers provided the bulk of this week's highlights. The future might belong to lightning-quick athletes like Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, but the heavy-handed big men on the roster held the reins on the immediate present. Sheamus excelled in two TV bouts. Brock Lesnar was the centerpiece of the week's marquee story. Kevin Owens made his impact from the announce desk, where he gave a clinic on how to be an irksome heel. In addition to the usual in-ring fare, WWE offered up comedy with the prank show Swerved and reality show drama with Tough Enough. The success of both those ...
