Breaking Down the Best and Worst of the WWE for Week of August 24

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On August - 28 - 2015
Each night that WWE was in Brooklyn over the weekend delivered something truly memorable. The Barclays Center hosted NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, SummerSlam and then Raw in a packed stretch of days. The bouts and the moments from those shows gave fans reason to both cheer and scratch their heads. New champions emerged; old faces popped up.  Bayley's NXT women's title win surpassed even the loftiest expectations. She and Sasha Banks crafted the kind of compelling match and emotional ride that fans are hoping for each time a big event arrives.  Strangely enough, that masterpiece preceded a point in the Divas Revolution where it's most ...

WWE SummerSlam 2015 Results: Superstars Who Gained the Most in Defeat

Posted by Aaron Bower On August - 28 - 2015
Although the show featured plenty of disappointing moments and setbacks for some of the losers at SummerSlam this year, there were some who could take positives from their defeats. Whether it's a controversial loss that keeps them looking strong heading toward Night of Champions or a loss from a feud that really doesn't mean too much, there is an abundance of reasons why stars came out of SummerSlam with plenty gained despite their defeats. And while some will be struggling to get back to top form after the biggest show of the summer, there were some who can stay optimistic, like these ...
Celebration and surprise inspired much of the best WWE-related social media during a busy, busy week. WWE produced an overflow of programming with NXT TakeOver, Raw, SummerSlam and the WWE Tough Enough finale. During that stretch, Bayley's emotional victory made for a great Instagram photo, while a clip of John Cena hitting his finisher on a TV host was watched several times over and The Dudley Boyz's return to the ring led to some memorable tweets. And nostalgia hung in the air as both Sting and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin found their way onto the list as well. Neither of them competed in a match on ...
The WWE Universe watched in stunned silence Thursday night as the unconscious body of Roman Reigns crashed to the ground, the juggernaut no match for the monstrous Braun Strowman. The newest member of The Wyatt Family, dubbed "The Black Sheep," had again wreaked havoc and left the 2015 Royal Rumble winner lying in a heap. It was the culmination of a night in which the faction reestablished itself as the most dangerous and unpredictable force in World Wrestling Entertainment, a trio capable of backing up the overly complicated promos and parlor tricks with brute force and physical violence thanks to the ...
The WWE writing staff has to be giddy: The Dudley Boyz are back, and suddenly booking the tag team division will be a lot more fun. On an eventful Raw on Monday night, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley interrupted the New Day's latest celebration in violent fashion. Roaring Brooklyn fans welcomed back the former tag champs and watched on as the Dudley Boyz took their first WWE victims in 10 years. To get the most from their current tenure with the company, WWE has to use them to showcase and elevate other teams. There's a chance here to give several younger squads momentum, ...

WWE Night of Champions 2015: Stars Under the Most Pressure at PPV

Posted by Donald Wood On August - 28 - 2015
After one of the wildest SummerSlam events in recent history, the WWE Universe has already turned its attention to September’s Night of Champions pay-per-view and the stars on the card who are under the most pressure. From Seth Rollins possibly having to defend both the WWE World Heavyweight and United States championships to The Dudley Boyz returning for their first WWE match in almost a decade, Night of Champions has the potential to be an unforgettable second-tier PPV. Here are the wrestlers under the most pressure at Night of Champions.   Seth Rollins There is no doubting that Rollins has been booked terribly as the ...

WWE SmackDown Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from August 27

Every week on Bleacher Report, I take an in-depth look at WWE SmackDown to recap the action, offer analysis and grade the matches, segments and anything else that takes place on the show, as well as make a few predictions for future events. The last week has been a busy time for the men and women of WWE. We've seen some incredible matches, big surprises and shocking returns—and that was just during Raw. NXT TakeOver, SummerSlam and Raw gave us almost 10 hours of entertainment in the span of three days, so it was nice to have a break for a couple days ...

Forgotten Members of Famous WWE Families: Brett DiBiase

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On August - 27 - 2015
Brett DiBiase didn't make it to WrestleMania like his father. He didn't collect the glut of championships that his grandfather did or win the WWE tag team title like his older brother. Instead, injuries forced him to limp away early from his WWE career. Still a young man, still in love with the art of pro wrestling, Brett steps into the ring with surgically repaired knees, the shadow of a Hall of Famer weighing down on him. When he wrestles, he does so with the sky-high expectations that come from carrying around the DiBiase name. It's a name that wrestling fans know ...
Whether you loved the 2015 edition of the SummerSlam pay-per-view or not, there is no denying that WWE booked an event that will live in infamy with wrestling fans. Some of the booking may have been atrocious, but several Superstars shined despite the booking, including Seth Rollins, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and The New Day, to name a few. As Night of Champions approaches in September, here are the WWE wrestlers who put on memorable performances at SummerSlam 2015.   Seth Rollins Everyone has been focusing on the interference from Jon Stewart in the finish, but the real focus should be on Seth Rollins and how ...
Seth Rollins might be the most powerful active competitor in wrestling. With WWE's two most important championships in his possession, it's up to Rollins to make both titles seem special. Prior to Rollins' United States title win, one could argue that John Cena's efforts made that title more important than the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which still doesn't have an actual division. Now Rollins must face the tall task of keeping both titles relevant. Good luck.   Future of the United States Championship? @ThisIsNasty What should happen to the US Title now? Not being defended at NOC is a horrible look, right? — Kirk (@KirkRogersRadio) ...
