The Undertaker's twilight has been an interesting one, mainly because of Brock Lesnar. It was Lesnar's victory at WrestleMania XXX that changed Undertaker's streak from a sure thing that fans took for granted to a dark cloud that follows him into the ring. In the previously unfathomable post-Streak era, every time Undertaker competes, there's a legitimate question as to whether we're seeing him for the last time. Should Lesnar and Undertaker resume their rivalry at WrestleMania 32, it would be a fitting final match for The Deadman. As mentioned on the PodNasty Wrestling Podcast, it's also a match he should lose. Undertaker vs. Lesnar ...
1. Diva Disconnect WWE clearly heard the outcry over what was wrong with the Divas division; the company simply misunderstood what that outcry was all about. The audience insisted that WWE "give Divas a chance," and so the sports entertainment giant brought in three ultra-talented women from NXT, started expanding the length of matches and talked up a so-called Divas Revolution. This has felt largely hollow, incomplete and off-track.  There has been progress—but not enough of it. There has been change—but too much of it has been superficial. It's as if WWE didn't read the crowd's full list of demands. The fans calling for ...

WWE SummerSlam 2015: Smartest Decisions Made at Epic PPV

Posted by Erik Beaston On August - 26 - 2015
When historians look back at the 2015 SummerSlam event, the finish of The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar main event will surely stick out like a sore thumb. The controversial finish robbed fans of a clean finish, instead setting up a definitive conclusion to their story sometime down the road. While that booking decision will hang over the event like a black cloud for years to come, there were several other choices made over the course of the four-hour extravaganza that will only help the current WWE product in the meantime. Some were championship victories, others were wins for heels that absolutely needed ...

WWE SummerSlam 2015: Matches That Lived Up to the Hype

Posted by Aaron Bower On August - 26 - 2015
As perhaps the second-biggest show on the entire calendar, WWE SummerSlam was always going to provide matches that went one of two ways. There were going to be matches that fell a little flat in comparison to the pre-event hype, but thankfully for WWE fans, some of the bouts involved did indeed live up to the substantial hype placed upon them. With all the big names and the drama that SummerSlam so often brings, it can be difficult for bouts to truly compare to the hype and the high quality fans expect. However, these bouts definitely lived up to the billing.   Kevin Owens ...

The Dudley Boyz Will Make The New Day a Stronger WWE Tag Team

Posted by Sebastian Maldonado On August - 26 - 2015
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re heading back to Dudleyville! The Dudley Boyz returned on the Raw after SummerSlam, August 24, to confront The New Day, the current tag team champions.  This was after New Day members Kofi Kingston and Big E took on The Lucha Dragons. The Prime Time Players, the former tag team champions, were at ringside on commentary. The New Day defeated its opponents and rightfully celebrated its victory. Xavier Woods even brought a trombone to ringside. Suddenly, the pyro went off. A familiar tune started playing over the speakers. The crowd in Brooklyn knew who was coming and roared in appreciation. Bubba Ray ...

The New Day Has Turned into WWE’s Most Entertaining Act

Posted by Tom Clark On August - 26 - 2015
The New Day was ridiculous.  From the moment WWE began running vignettes of Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston bouncing around in front of a church choir, the overall opinion was not good.  When the three began working together on Raw, fan reception was even worse. The trio was not over, as the consensus among fans was that it would crash and burn in no time.  But that assessment could not have been more wrong, as The New Day is now WWE's most entertaining act. How did this happen?  How did three guys with very little in common get stuck with ...

Full Career Retrospective and Greatest Moments for Haku

Posted by Erik Beaston On August - 26 - 2015
Throughout the 1980s, WWE was rife with larger-than-life characters and personas. The Superstars of that era invaded living rooms every Saturday morning on syndicated television, mesmerizing kids and convincing mom and dad to spend boatloads of money on all things Hulkamania. While competitors such as Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior and "Macho Man" Randy Savage generated the most buzz, earning Hall of Fame inductions and the admiration of millions of fans around the globe, none of what they accomplished would have been possible without the skilled vets in their supporting cast. One such wrestler was Haku, a native of the island of ...
As is the case with most pay-per-view shows WWE hosts, several matches at SummerSlam will have major impacts on the company's next big show, Night of Champions. With just a few weeks between the shows, it's inevitable that some rivalries will continue into Night of Champions, and even some that don't will have lasting impacts on what happens over the next few shows. An explosive post-SummerSlam edition of Raw, with Sting and The Dudley Boyz returning, means the complexion of the card will look slightly different at Night of Champions, though. Here are three results from SummerSlam that will have the biggest impacts on ...
