WWE NXT Stars Poised for Promotion to Main Roster in 2016

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On December - 30 - 2015
WWE NXT will have to find a new backbone in 2016.  Sami Zayn and Finn Balor are on the cusp of making the move from the developmental brand to the main roster this coming year. As in-ring veterans, phenomenal showman and rising stars, they have long made their case that they belong at WWE proper. With those two gone, NXT will have some identity-searching to do. Zayn and Balor, along with a thriving women's division, have been the heart of the WWE offshoot. But their time at Full Sail University promises to be over at some point during 2016. Being top prospects have them ready ...
1. Constructing the New Top Tier  WWE is on the precipice of a new era. After every slump the company has suffered through, a group of megastars have led the way to a period of prosperity. Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and Andre the Giant played that role in the early '80s. Undertaker, Steve Austin and The Rock captained the ship in the late '90s. And now it's a new set of wrestlers' turns. It's going to take commitment, creativity and consistency from WWE, though. Talent is abundant on the roster. Bray Wyatt is a fantastic mic worker and a captivating freight train in the ring. ...

Since 1988, the Royal Rumble pay-per-view has provided fans with matches and moments that have helped it become one of the most important and popular shows of the WWE calendar year. From the wild and chaotic titular match to the championship bouts that help shape the other half of the WrestleMania main event, there have been countless booking decisions that have helped to mold all-time great memories. Unfortunately, any time an event hangs around as long as the Rumble has, it is almost guaranteed to be responsible for its fair share of horrible booking choices. The annual January extravaganza is no different. From ...

Vince McMahon Is a Better Rival for Roman Reigns Than Triple H

Posted by Alfred Konuwa On December - 30 - 2015
At 70 years old, Vince McMahon seems to be intent on dedicating the twilight of his televised appearances to making Roman Reigns. Thus far, these efforts have been effective. Fans can't help but cheer Reigns, who is positioned as more of an underdog when juxtaposed against WWE's almighty chairman. Monday on Raw, after Reigns called McMahon a rich snob, Vince boisterously corrected him, insisting he was a "freaking billionaire!" The way Reigns coldly refers to McMahon as "old man" hearkens to the generation gap between millennials, whom McMahon infamously criticized in December 2014 on Steve Austin's podcast (h/t PWInisder.com), and baby boomers. This feud is a better illustration ...
The year 2015 was a banner one for women's wrestling in WWE. First, NXT revolutionized the sport, putting talent like Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bayley in position to not only shine bright in the spotlight, but also headline major WWE Network productions. In the process, fans fell in love with their characters and stories and proved they were as willing to support those women as they were any of their male counterparts. Eager to cash in on the success of the NXT crew, Vince McMahon jumped at the opportunity to call Charlotte, Banks and Lynch up to the main roster ...

WWE Preparing Kevin Owens for Brock Lesnar Feud with Recent Booking

Posted by Aaron Bower On December - 30 - 2015
Kevin Owens has always had a little bit of a mean streak but recently, things seem to be even more severe than usual. That loss to Dean Ambrose at WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs has turned Owens into a ruthless aggressor, the kind we saw during his first few weeks in WWE. He's become more unpredictable than ever before, and that's when Owens seems to be at his very best. But looking long-term here, you almost get the feeling that Owens is being primed and pushed ahead of what could be a quite incredible feud at WrestleMania 32—a match against Brock Lesnar. There ...

WWE 2016 Preview: B/R Expert Predictions, Outlook for Next Year

Posted by Erik Beaston On December - 30 - 2015
The year 2015 was a tumultuous one for World Wrestling Entertainment. Despite creative inconsistencies, crippling injuries suffered by top stars and hostile crowds that threatened to undo high-profile plans the writing staff concocted, the company closed out 12 months of highs and lows as it had hoped it would all along. Roman Reigns overcame obstacles of all sorts to emerge with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Add in the fact that John Cena returned from a brief hiatus, The League of Nations began picking up momentum as a main event faction, The New Day continued to entertain and Kevin Owens rediscovered his ...
There are few stars in the wrestling industry with as much mainstream appeal as Brock Lesnar, and booking him properly at the 2016 edition of the Royal Rumble and onto the Road to WrestleMania should be the top priority for WWE. While battles against WWE world heavyweight champion Roman Reigns or the League of Nations and their leader Sheamus seem the most likely, there is also a chance he returns and simply destroys any and every Superstar who stands in his way. Here are the best potential feuds for Lesnar heading into Royal Rumble.   1. The Entire Roster The best booking for Lesnar is ...
