WWE Rumors: Buzz on Road to WWE Royal Rumble 2016 for Week of Jan. 29

Posted by Aaron Bower On January - 29 - 2016
With the fallout still being felt from WWE's Royal Rumble show, rumors are starting to circulate about what WrestleMania 32's card will look like. This week's rumors focus mostly on injury news. WWE is contending with a depleted roster as the biggest show of the year draws near.   A Hint Towards Brock Lesnar's Plans? Those with an eye on the WWE Network will know that on March 12, there is a special show dubbed, "March to WrestleMania 32" in Toronto. Well, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Marc Middleton of LordsofPain) noted that there is a local ad airing in the area in which Paul Heyman ...

Triple H Adds Unique Twist on Road to WrestleMania 32 as COO and World Champion

Posted by Sebastian Maldonado On January - 29 - 2016
Triple H stirred quite the controversy at the 2016 Royal Rumble. The traditional namesake bout was laden with plenty of surprises on Jan. 24 in Orlando, Florida. AJ Styles debuted to a roaring audience. Sami Zayn made his rumble debut and vanquished his rival, Kevin Owens. Brock Lesnar eliminated The Wyatt Family, which returned the favor by costing Lesnar the match. Roman Reigns, then the WWE champion, was ambushed by The League of Nations and taken to the back. Reigns returned just in time to face the 30th entrant, who turned out to be none other than Triple H. The Game returned to seek ...

Fantasy Booking WrestleMania 32 Card After WWE Royal Rumble 2016

Posted by Aaron Bower On January - 29 - 2016
WWE has given us clues aplenty for the potential card at WrestleMania 32 this year, and with those teasers, we can begin to assemble a solid card for the show. There are obstacles to overcome, clearly, but we'll address those as we go through the matches. There were seven matches on last year's main card, with two on the pre-show. We'll have just one on the pre-show this year, and we'll bump up the Tag Team Championships to the main card, as The New Day has no place on the pre-show at all. With limits as to what's coming from the upcoming WWE Fastlane on ...

Evaluating Batista’s Best Booking Options If He Returns to WWE

Posted by Tom Clark On January - 29 - 2016
Batista is one of the latest WWE Superstars whom many fans believe could be headed back to the company sometime soon. The six-time world champion has not been on Raw since June of 2014, and considering the company's penchant for leaning on former top Superstars to sell events, perhaps The Animal will be the next man back. But the question of booking is always an issue, of course, and that will surely come into play here. What is a guy like Batista to do in a company that is lacking main event talent but not yet fully moving forward with the ...

WWE Fastlane 2016: Most Intriguing Storylines to Track on Road to PPV

Posted by James Moffat On January - 29 - 2016
WWE Fastlane 2016 is three weeks away, leaving WWE Creative plenty of time to set up a blockbuster main event. Here's hoping the rest of the card for February's pay-per-view also helps move storylines ahead instead of being haphazardly tossed together. Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will face off in a Triple Threat match to determine who faces WWE world heavyweight champion Triple H in the main event at WrestleMania 32. But the dynamic of the current title picture means WWE's top two titles won't be defended at this event. Triple H is a 46-year-old part-time wrestler who also happens to ...
To say that logic has not been at the top of WWE Creative's list of priorities over the last handful of years would be an understatement. Continuity has never been one of its major concerns, not when it has as many hours of television to book as it does. The result has been inconsistent storytelling and decisions that leave fans scratching their heads. As fun as it was, the Jan. 28 episode of SmackDown threw continuity out the window. Especially in the case of the night's main event. Four months after losing a match to The Wyatt Family as a result of Chris ...

WWE SmackDown Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from January 28

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On January - 29 - 2016
Every week on Bleacher Report, I take an in-depth look at WWE SmackDown to recap the action, offer analysis and grade the matches, segments and anything else that takes place on the show, as well as make a few predictions for future events. We're still dealing with the fallout from Sunday's Royal Rumble, but equal attention is being paid to building the storylines that will make up the card for Fastlane on Feb. 21. AJ Styles made his SmackDown debut in a match against Curtis Axel, Goldust and R-Truth had more misunderstandings and we got to see Kalisto defend his newly won United States ...

Sheamus Injury: Updates on WWE Superstar’s Arm and Return

Posted by Adam Wells On January - 28 - 2016
With WWE's roster already thin because of injuries and the buildup to WrestleMania 32 on April 3 starting, seeing a reliable star like Sheamus battling an arm injury is going to cause concern.  Continue for updates.      Sheamus Posts Injury Photo Thursday, Jan. 28 In a post on Twitter, Sheamus showed off his arm in a cast: According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the full extent of Sheamus' injury is not yet known: We've confirmed that the injury is legitimate, but we don't have much in the way of details other than he has tendonitis in the arm. He isn't expected to be out of the ring ...
After a great Royal Rumble and a hot week of wrestling, I decided to have fun in this week's mailbag and accept questions in all-caps. Some of you obliged.   Yes Means No? The Daniel Bryan situation is a delicate one. Despite what some fans may think, WWE would kill to have a healthy Daniel Bryan right now, given their depth issues. Bryan was a sleeper candidate as a surprise Royal Rumble entrant and was even listed as a potential competitor according to the odds on Odds Shark. As a surprise entrant in the Rumble, Bryan would have received the biggest pop of the year. ...

Analyzing Brock Lesnar’s Part-Time Schedule and Why It Works for WWE

Posted by Graham GSM Matthews On January - 28 - 2016
Brock Lesnar is a rare breed in WWE; he is among the few true stars the company has left. This means he is a must-see, once-in-a-lifetime attraction that brings a unique aura to every arena he enters. Of course, it is easier to make a Superstar feel special when he is not featured on every episode of Raw and SmackDown. But Lesnar is his own entity in how WWE has utilized him since his return to the company four years ago. From 2012-13, he wrestled a mere five matches: two at Extreme Rules, two at SummerSlam and one at WrestleMania. All of ...
