WWE Raw: Live Results, Reaction and Analysis for June 27

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On June - 27 - 2016
Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of the June 27 episode of Raw. News of Roman Reigns' suspension for violating WWE's wellness policy rocked the WWE Universe last week. As of last week's SmackDown, the company was still advertising Reigns for the Battleground main event, but he will miss the draft, making him somewhat of a wild card. Battleground almost feels secondary to the upcoming brand extension, so let's hope some real progress is made in building the next pay-per-view during Monday's show. Has Titus O'Neil found the aggression he will need to defeat Rusev? How will The New Day combat Bray Wyatt's intimidation techniques? Will Sasha Banks ...
Don't look now, but more veterans are coming. Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Marc Middleton of WrestlingInc.com), with WWE set to launch a second era of the brand extension, reports have been circulating that WWE is in talks with former talents. Names from MVP to Kurt Angle to Stevie Richards have been thrown around, as WWE's aging New Era veterans seem to be on the verge of clashing with aging old era stars. It may not be long before WWE live events begin to play out like a Rocky Horror Picture Show. Still, with the array of potential comeback stories ...
To tell the story of Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns without The Big Dog, WWE will reposition and intensify its spotlight.  What was supposed to be a battle of the men who once made up The Shield will instead focus on the enmity between Ambrose and Rollins, with WWE leaning on the rivals' surplus of bad blood. Expect their contentious past, clear contrasting roles and a measured pace to form the backbone of the build to their clash at the Battleground pay-per-view. The road to the Triple Threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is suddenly missing a titan. WWE ...

From Dean Ambrose's issues with his old ally to The New Day's monstrous new rivals, feuds in their early stages are set to intensify on WWE Raw. In the second week of Ambrose holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, he is sure to face increased aggression from Seth Rollins. The New Day's issues with The Wyatt Family will escalate. Sasha Banks' pursuit of Charlotte and the women's title is sure to pick up, too.  With Extreme Rules now in the rearview mirror, WWE is in the midst of the slow march to the Battleground pay-per-view. The build for the headline bout—Ambrose vs. Rollins vs. ...

WWE Superstar Rankings Ahead of June 27 Raw

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On June - 27 - 2016
Quite a few things have changed in the last week, including Roman Reigns' suspension for a wellness policy violation. WWE is still advertising him for the Battleground main event, so it doesn't look like the violation will affect his push too much, but it's too early to tell how he will be booked after the pay-per-view. The upcoming brand extension and draft on July 19 are just as much a priority as the Battleground PPV. They might even be more important because they will impact how WWE is booked for the next year. With all these changes on the horizon, it's more important than ever ...

Brock Lesnar Announced for ‘WWE 2K17’ Cover

Posted by Tyler Conway On June - 27 - 2016
WWE 2K17 is already seeing a ton of prerelease hype after announcing Goldberg's addition to the roster. Monday morning saw 2K Sports continue the build by releasing the game's cover, which features crossover star Brock Lesnar: Lesnar, 38, previously appeared on the covers of WWE SmackDown! Shut Your Mouth and WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain during his first run in sports entertainment. This is his first solo cover, having shared the spotlight with other Superstars on the aforementioned games. The choice of Lesnar seems rather straightforward given how much WWE is banking on the former UFC heavyweight champion increasing its mainstream appeal.  Lesnar is set to make his return to mixed ...
Brock Lesnar will be fighting in his first MMA bout in nearly five years when he returns at UFC 200 on July 9. But win or lose, he's also heading back to WWE for SummerSlam on August 21. It is arguably the most anticipated one-two punch fans of both sports have ever witnessed. But Lesnar will not be returning to the same old WWE; this will be a divided company, featuring a split roster between Raw and SmackDown. So what happens to The Beast Incarnate when he comes back? To say this is an exciting time for fans would be an understatement. It would ...
On Tuesday, July 19 during the first live broadcast of SmackDown, WWE will conduct a draft in order to split the Raw and SmackDown rosters and create competition between the brands. Speculation has arisen about where many of the top Superstars in WWE will end up during the draft. With the possibility of wrestlers who are feuding being separated, tag teams breaking up and NXT stars getting the call-up to the main roster, major changes are expected following the 2016 WWE draft. In preparation for the monumental occasion, here is a full 20-round mock draft for the Raw and SmackDown brands, as ...

Examining, Grading Year One of WWE’s Women’s Revolution

Posted by Erik Beaston On June - 26 - 2016
On July 13, 2015, WWE promised its fans a revolution that would forever change perceptions in regards to women's wrestling and even called up Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks from NXT to help ensure its success. Nearly one year later, things certainly appear different on the surface. But are they really? There have been some tremendous highs and history made. There have also been missteps and terrible lows that had some questioning whether anything had really changed. While the in-ring product has evolved, improving exponentially from the lethargic matches fans witnessed in bygone eras, there are still questions about character development and ...

WWE Battleground 2016: Smart Builds for PPV’s Top Feuds

Posted by Tom Clark On June - 26 - 2016
WWE Battleground is coming up on Sunday, July 24. It's an important night, mostly because of the new WWE world heavyweight champion, Dean Ambrose. The Lunatic Fringe will be defending his title against his former Shield brothers, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. But it's also important because of the other rivalries that are underway. These are the feuds that make the company click, and they are the ones that keep fans coming back for more. The good thing is that there are some prime feuds to choose from, and for the most part, they all need high-profile matches. Sasha Banks is finally back, ...
