Dean Ambrose received his one-on-one rematch for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Tuesday's edition of SmackDown, but AJ Styles defeated the Lunatic Fringe and successfully retained his title with a roll-up pin.   John Cena was on commentary during the match, and he would eventually interfere and distract the ref, costing Ambrose a win. After the match, Cena proceeded to attack Styles and Ambrose, and would eventually stand tall to close the show, as WWE shared:  WrestlingINC.com and Bleacher Report's Kevin Berge provided their thoughts on the match:  The Phenomenal One became a WWE world champion for the first time at Backlash, ...

Sheamus and Cesaro teamed up on WWE Raw, leaving the audience unsure whether championship gold or an implosion is in their future. It's fair to question the longevity of an alliance made up of two warriors who have spent the past month trying to destroy each other. After failing to decide a winner in their smashmouth best-of-seven series, The Celtic Warrior and Cesaro are partners—for now. Monday's Raw left fans wondering what lies ahead for that duo, the makeup of the cruiserweight division, Kevin Owens' Universal Championship reign and Sasha Banks' title hopes.               Will Kevin Owens Be Overshadowed as ...

A rematch from Backlash will headline WWE SmackDown when AJ Styles looks to fend off a furious, focused Dean Ambrose.  Ambrose has a shot to take back his WWE World Championship just weeks after losing it to The Phenomenal One. A win for The Lunatic Fringe would shift the balance of power ahead of the No Mercy pay-per-view on Oct. 9, when Ambrose and Styles will meet John Cena in a Triple Threat match.  In addition to the big world title bout, Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena is set to host a SmackDown rife with bad blood. Dolph Ziggler has to be incensed after getting cheated out of his ...

WWE Rumors: Examining Latest Buzz Around Seth Rollins, Paige and More

Posted by Erik Beaston On September - 27 - 2016
Clash of Champions has come and gone, and in its wake, fans of World Wrestling Entertainment are left wondering what the Raw brand has in store for them going forward. One thing it did not have in store on Monday was in-ring activity from Seth Rollins, who left the Sept. 25 pay-per-view extravaganza nursing a rib injury. The Architect is not the only Superstar to be hobbled, preventing him from competing inside the squared circle. The saga of Paige continued this week as rumors circulated that she was backstage at Clash of Champions and Raw but was not used. Thanks to a new ...

Roman Reigns rolled into Cincinnati Monday night as the new WWE United States champion riding a wave of momentum as a result of his victory over Rusev at Clash of Champions. In order for him to maintain that momentum, he would have to defeat The Bulgarian Brute for the second time in as many days. After 25 minutes of action, he may not have secured a clean win (the match ended in a double count-out), but he left a lasting impression on his rival, courtesy of a stiff chair shot to the back. Though many consider his feud with Rusev over the ...

WWE Clash of Champions 2016 Results: Power Ranking Every Match at PPV

Posted by Kevin Berge On September - 27 - 2016
Sunday's WWE Clash of Champions was a night of solid wrestling and more than a few questionable booking decisions. Billed as the first Raw-branded pay-per-view in years as well as a night when every champion needed to defend their gold, Clash of Champions ended up being more of a setup show than a statement event for Monday Night Raw. While there were not many major developments coming out of this show, and only one championship changed hands on Sunday, there were many hard-fought encounters for both championship gold and future opportunities at the titles. The wrestlers put serious work into hard-hitting, physical ...
Roman Reigns is the new WWE United States champion, and that step up came not a moment too soon for his fanbase. The reason for that has to do with The Big Dog's stalled main event career, which has been in desperate need of an adrenaline shot for quite some time. Indeed, this is not a case of the man making the title, but the title making the man. This is WWE's best shot at revitalizing Reigns' main event status. This is like John Cena's U.S. title run, only in reverse. In that case, WWE's top guy brought some much-needed prestige to the ...

WWE Raw Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from September 26

On the heels of a Clash of Champions pay-per-view that ended in controversy when Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Stephanie McMahon and a referee bump robbed Seth Rollins of the WWE Universal Championship, questions lingered as to what The Architect's response would be as Raw hit the USA Network airwaves. More importantly, did McMahon and Mick Foley in any way have prior knowledge of Jericho's involvement? What awaited the key players involved was on fans' minds, but it was not the only topic of interest as the show kicked off. How would WWE address the non-finish to Cesaro vs. Sheamus from Clash of Champions? ...
WWE Universal champion Kevin Owens has been the focal point of Raw over the last several weeks, and wrestling fans are curious as to who he will square off against at the 2016 edition of the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in October. While a rematch against former world champion Seth Rollins looks inevitable, recent reports of an injury to Rollins could jeopardize the likely matchup. As seen on Monday’s episode of Raw, though, a tag team match alongside Chris Jericho against Enzo and Cass is possible. Here are the best booking options for Owens and the Universal Championship heading into WWE ...
