Sunny Arrested, Clash of Champions and Top WWE News from Week of September 24

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On September - 24 - 2016
Sunny Hospitalized and Arrested in Same Week It's been a rough week for Tammy "Sunny" Sytch. The former WWE mainstay posted a message to Facebook on Sept. 17, talking about how she ended up in the hospital because of a cyst on her pancreas: I have been in the hospital since Monday afternoon and we're not quite sure what's wrong yet. I had a cyst on my pancreas that was 1.5 cm in March, and they said if it got bigger it would need to drained, removed or have a stint put in.  Well now it's 3 cm. double the size.   Also my gall ...
WWE Clash of Champions 2016 on Sunday will be all about beginnings.  The Kevin Owens era will kick off on Raw's inaugural brand-exclusive pay-per-view, the bruiser headlining a WWE pay-per-view for the first time. Sunday's show will also see the introduction of the Cruiserweight Championship and the dancing, hard-kicking champ T.J. Perkins. And it may just be the night Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson taste WWE gold for the first time. The Club is among the many challengers hoping for victory. Both Bayley and Sasha Banks will be after Charlotte's Women's Championship. Roman Reigns will seek his first U.S. title reign. Seth Rollins is hoping ...

Kurt Angle Comments on Drug Addiction, Rehabilitation

Posted by Tim Daniels On September - 23 - 2016
Former WWE superstar and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle stated Friday he was taking 65 extra-strength Vicodin every day while battling drug addiction issues during his wrestling career. Nicolas Atkin of ESPN UK passed along comments Angle made about that dark period of his life during an appearance on ESPN Radio's The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz. The 47-year-old Pennsylvania native talked about first trying to solve the problem on his own. "I was on a lot—there was no way I couldn't get out of it," he said. "The only thing I could do was eventually go to rehab and try to ...

WWE Clash of Champions 2016: Match Results Guaranteed to Disappoint Fans

Posted by Erik Beaston On September - 23 - 2016
Sunday night, World Wrestling Entertainment's Raw presents its first brand-exclusive pay-per-view event, and as usual, there will be a handful of match results that will ignite negativity among the diehard internet fanbase. Because, duh. Some will be justified. There is a United States Championship match in particular that will infuriate the vocal majority and add further fuel to the fire that awaits one of wrestling's biggest stars every time he walks into an arena. Others will involve personal favorites of the internet audience who drop key matches in their progression. What are those results, and how will they possibly impact the overall reputation of ...

WWE No Mercy 2016: Early Predictions for Matches on the Card

Posted by Aaron Bower On September - 23 - 2016
Only three matches are scheduled for WWE SmackDown's next brand-exclusive pay-per-view on Sunday, No Mercy, but all the signs point to another fascinating show. After the huge success of Backlash, the company's first foray into pay-per-views for each individual show, hopes are high that No Mercy can also deliver. With AJ Styles set to defend his WWE World Championship in a fascinating Triple Threat match, a women's match that accentuates the roster's depth and a tag title match that illustrates how SmackDown is making a success of its available talent, there is plenty to be excited about. With more matches in the works, ...

WWE Clash of Champions 2016: Best Finishes for Entire Match Card

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On September - 23 - 2016
Raw is poised to deliver great theater at WWE Clash of Champions 2016, should Sunday's pay-per-view take advantage of all the stories of triumph and tailspins waiting to be told. Roman Reigns is on the verge of falling short in his quest for revenge. An old ally will loom as Seth Rollins seeks to become WWE universal champion. And Cesaro is one three-count away from completing a miraculous comeback. The PPV must make use of those moments, producing maximum drama in each match. The Clash of Champions card offers WWE a chance to showcase Cesaro's guts, deepen the schism between Rollins and his father ...
In the smorgasbord of entertainment that is WWE, Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. The Shining Stars is the platter of raw vegetables. It has a purpose in theory, but it's kind of just there. Not many folks are excited about seeing it. Amore and Cass have been one of the hottest, most intriguing acts on Raw since arriving from NXT. Their feud against The Shining Stars has only worked to cool them down, though. Epico and Primo's turns as Puerto Rican timeshare salesmen aren't working. The Shining Stars are a filler team, so their clash with The Realest Guys in the Room unsurprisingly feels ...
Box fans stood erect atop the floor, buzzing. Mannequins lined up throughout the muggy building, adorned in glittery robes, cowboy hats or luchador masks.  A metal sign from the old Dallas Sportatorium—where Ric Flair, Steve Austin and The Von Erichs all once wrestled—hung in the entrance way. This is the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in Wichita Falls, Texas. This is the brick-and-mortar tribute to grapplers as far back as the late 19th century, a salute to the heels and babyfaces of the squared circle, the world champions and forgotten names. The amount of history packed into the place is overwhelming. And so is ...

WWE Clash of Champions 2016: B/R Expert Match Predictions and Analysis

Posted by James Moffat On September - 23 - 2016
WWE Clash of Champions 2016 provides the Raw brand its first chance to impress in a show-specific pay-per-view, much as Backlash did for SmackDown Live on Sept. 11.  Unlike Backlash, which featured only six matches over the span of two-and-a-half hours, Clash of Champions has a more robust card, no doubt a product of Raw having an expanded roster. Whether that is a blessing or curse has yet to be decided. Part of Backlash's success was its ability to give more ring time to Superstars, thereby focusing more on the action inside the squared circle.  On paper, Sunday's card features an impressive ...
At the 2016 edition of the TNA Bound for Glory pay-per-view, one of the biggest stars to watch will be wrestling legend Gail Kim. Not only will Kim be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame—the first woman to receive the honor—but she will also be challenging Maria Kanellis-Bennett for the Knockouts Championship in an effort to tie the all-time record of six title reigns. In a recent interview promoting Bound for Glory on Oct. 2 and Impact Wrestling each Thursday on Pop TV, Kim spoke to Ring Rust Radio about the upcoming PPV, possible dream matches she’d love to participate in ...
