Goldberg and Brock Lesnar are key figures in the ongoing transformation of WWE Survivor Series. A forgotten giant is finally getting some attention. WWE has begun to make the pay-pay-view feel like one of the Big Four again, infusing star power into the event and returning to what made it special in the first place.  It's been a long time since Survivor Series has felt anywhere near as important as SummerSlam or WrestleMania. It has largely devolved into just another PPV on an overloaded calendar.  On Nov. 20, Survivor Series 2016 will break that trend. Brand warfare between Raw and SmackDown will see to ...
WWE superstar Chris Jericho denied rumors he was knocked out by Sin Cara during a backstage brawl that allegedly took place Sunday in England. "Hmmm haven’t been KOd since 1994 in Hakata Star Lanes. Another example of shoddy, uninformed 'journalism' from the stupid idiots at @MLW," Jericho tweeted. MLW used the hashtag "Y2JKOd" to describe the alleged fight, which to that point did not have names attached. Justin LaBar of UpGruv.com had reported a backstage incident involving a "repeat offender." PWInsider.com previously reported Sin Cara was involved in a backstage fight with Simon Gotch of the Vaudevillains in July (h/t Wrestlezone.com). Jericho famously had words ...

WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for Nov. 7

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On November - 7 - 2016
Kevin Owens isn't bound to enjoy his trip to Glasgow, Scotland, the host of Monday's WWE Raw. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, two of his enemies vying for his WWE Universal Championship, appear to be willing to work together again to take him down. The former members of The Shield may also soon be Owens' teammates at Survivor Series. The champ still has his best friend, Chris Jericho, at his side, but there have been signs of an impending split between them. Much of the show's focus will be on the impending Raw-SmackDown battles at the Survivor Series pay-per-view on Nov. 20. Raw promises to shed ...

WWE Superstar Power Rankings Ahead of Nov. 7 Raw

Posted by Alfred Konuwa On November - 7 - 2016
Survivor Series is set for Nov. 20, and WWE Superstars on Raw and SmackDown are preparing to don their Sunday best on the rare cross-brand pay-per-view. Rankings are as important as ever as WWE Superstars flex their muscles for not only brand supremacy, but also WWE superiority as the best on both shows. Unimpressive main event performances from both world champions will keep them out of the top spot, but how far did they fall? Will future world-title feuds with fresh opponents help them regain their momentum? Did Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks' history-making main event make an impact on the list? No, ...
The alleged thawing of Hulk Hogan's relationship with WWE may lead to a WrestleMania return. Hulk's daughter Brooke told TMZ that WWE officials have been in contact with the wrestling legend and hinted WrestleMania may feature his return to the company. "I'll just say I know that people have been calling him...for WrestleMania," Brooke said.   Hulk Hogan, 63, was released from his Legends contract and fired as a Tough Enough judge last year after private, racially charged comments were made public. Footage obtained by media outlets featured Hogan using racist slurs and saying he is "a racist, to a point."  Dylan Howard and Lachlan Cartwright of the National ...

WWE Survivor Series 2016: Craziest Gimmick Matches in PPV History

Posted by Kevin Wong On November - 6 - 2016
Survivor Series, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania are collectively and colloquially known as the Big Four. But Survivor Series has the lowest profile out of all of them. It was the first WWE pay-per-view that was founded on a gimmick—five-on-five elimination matches—and featured that gimmick exclusively; in the early days, there were no singles or tag title fights on the card. Instead, champions would captain their own five-person, themed teams. The Dream Team vs. The Enforcers. The King's Court vs. The 4x4s. But for the past decade, with the exception of a few token matches per show, the elimination matches have been ...

Why Goldberg Must Defeat Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series 2016

Posted by Tom Clark On November - 6 - 2016
Goldberg and Brock Lesnar's war of words is a major focus of WWE television as the company moves toward WWE Survivor Series 2016 on Nov. 20. Many fans are likely expecting Lesnar to get the win, further cementing his position as the indestructible Beast Incarnate. But it's the prodigal punisher who should be left standing at the end of the match. Goldberg must beat Lesnar at Survivor Series. The Beast's imminent defeat has been predicted for quite some time. Whenever a new challenger has stepped up to face him, fans have sat back and imagined how it would all play out when Lesnar is ...
There are pay-per-views over the course of WWE history that are more historically significant than others for a variety of reasons, but few were as important to the livelihood of every one of Vince McMahon's employees than the 1996 Survivor Series. Emanating from Madison Square Garden in New York, the event was designed to pay off some of the most intense rivalries in Vince McMahon's wrestling empire. With a marquee bout pitting Shawn Michaels against former friend Sycho Sid, the show was fitting of the fall classic that had become a staple of the pay-per-view schedule for nine years. Few could have ...

Evaluating the Long-Term Outlook For The Miz on WWE SmackDown Live

Posted by Graham GSM Matthews On November - 5 - 2016
Few stars have benefited more from WWE's latest brand split than the Miz. Through his lengthy reign as the intercontinental champion and his heated rivalry with Dolph Ziggler, there is little doubt he has done the best work of his entire career over these past few months. Although taking the title off him and giving it to Ziggler for a fifth time wasn't ideal, the move in no way killed his momentum. He continues to be involved in some of the best segments each week on SmackDown, and his return to the top of the card is merely getting underway. Since cutting ...
The champ is missing. John Cena is once again out of the WWE picture, though that will likely not last long. The 15-time world champion is doing what so many fans have been waiting for: He's stepping back from the company. In this New Era, other talents are rising up as WWE is looking to move ahead. But he will be back, of course, and he needs something to do when he gets there. Cena's in a great spot because he does not need to be immediately thrust back into the main event picture. There's no need to rush him. He's over in ...
