Wrestling’s Lost Art of the Entrance Theme

Posted by Aaron Leal On February - 24 - 2010
Think about your favorite wrestler. What is the easiest thing that you can identify him with? His entrance theme. In this era of PG wrestling, so many things have been sacrificed for money and mainstream acceptance. From pay-per-view names, to wrestlers' freedoms to improvise on their characters, and to something as simple as blood in a match. But what many people seem to bypass is the generalization of the entrance theme. Gone are the days when you would hear an opening note and instantly know who was going to walk out through the curtain. ...

A Friendly Warning for TNA

Posted by Aaron Leal On February - 20 - 2010
Recently, yesterday actually, I wrote an article on the woes, to put it lightly, of TNA. Looking back, I may have sounded bias and as a WWE "fanboy." This is to clarify a few things. Now, I am far from being a TNA mark but I do want the business to improve and blossom and TNA holds the key to that happening being the second largest wrestling company in the world. Many are excited for the return of the "Monday Night War" as the Jan. 4 ratings for TNA showed, but was that an aberration? Were people really tuning in for TNA ...

TNA, the Clock Is Ticking

Posted by Aaron Leal On February - 19 - 2010
Is that it, TNA? Really? You are gearing up to "compete" against the WWE with your current product. Wow. Hogan, Bischoff, Dixie, you are in for a rude awakening. Seeing iMPACT tonight was very entertaining for all the wrong reasons. Where to start? Let's start at the top. The Pope comes out and with his limited mic skills goes on a rant about Ric Flair and his protegee AJ Styles. After an eternity of Flair trying to put Styles over, The Pope lashes out only to be subdued by Flair and Styles. End segment. Does TNA really expect to compete with AJ Styles as ...
There is a WWE video circulating around the Internet that they send out to movie stars, professionals athletes, and other main stream talent to pitch them the idea of joining the WWE. This is a rarely seen video and it may not be up for long. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4N7KvTI-OA&feature=related Kudos to The Don Tony and Kevin Castle Show for the video. Undertaker and HBK to Take Time Off Again After WrestleMania?

Posted by Aaron Leal On February - 18 - 2010
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that HBK and The Undertaker plan to take time off after WrestleMania XXVI, just as they did last year. This could mean that Undertaker may in fact drop the belt at The Elimination Chamber. The hot rumor is John Morrison will get it. The second choice would most likely be Chris Jericho, as there have been talks for a Jericho-Edge match at WrestleMania. There were rumors that Shawn Micheals may retire after WrestleMania, but it now seems he may go another year, as well as The Undertaker.Read more Pro Wrestling news on BleacherReport.com

WWE: The Legacy of the Survivor Series

Posted by Aaron Leal On February - 18 - 2010
Take the momentum of WrestleMania III, and a mega feud between Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant, and give them four partners each. What do you get? The Survivor Series. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon announced last week that WWE will no longer name its November pay-per-view event "Survivor Series", citing that the concept had run its course. Upon hearing this, I was sad that one of the "Big Four" was going away. But after analyzing the situation, I realized that, like the ECW name, all good things must come to an ...

O Bret Hart, Where Art Thou?

Posted by Aaron Leal On February - 18 - 2010
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Those words rang true when it came to describing Bret "The Hitman" Hart back in the early and mid '90s.
