WrestleMania 27: Excluding the Money in the Bank Ladder Match is a Mistake
On March - 12 - 2011
As I stated in a past article, I firmly believe that WrestleMania 23 was the last of a dying breed. Despite my comments and three lackluster WrestleManias to follow it, I always found salvation each time one particular match began.
The Money in the Bank ladder match.
Lately, rumors that the match wouldn’t make it to WrestleMania seemed like a ploy by dirt sheets to create an outrage of the displacement of the match. With the match being the main attraction for a brand new WWE ppv, the idea of the match’s absence from Mania wasn’t as far fetched.
Almost three weeks away ...

WWE NXT: Announcing the NXT March Madness Bracket
On March - 12 - 2011
I've got the fever that comes with March Madness, much like most sports fans. I feel like filling out a bracket already, even though the field of 68 has not yet been announced. So I had an idea to feed the urge until Sunday and beyond, as well as incorporate wrestling into the excitement in the month of March.Since the NCAA Tournament is about the dreams of young athletes, I thought that WWE NXT would be a nice parallel. As I watched the fifth season premiere on Tuesday (and nearly regretted it), I thought about the idea of the unique format for ...
WWE: Rest in Peace, "Dashing" Cody Rhodes?
On March - 12 - 2011
On June 25, 2010, the WWE Universe introduced us to a new and improved Cody Rhodes. Gone were the days of being a lackey to Randy Orton on Monday Night RAW to a vain good-looking narcissist who was obsessed with his appearance on Friday Night SmackDown.
Thus, "Dashing" Cody Rhodes was born; from then on, I was hooked. Sure, there were numerous other wrestlers—such as Lex Luger and Paul Orndorff—who have had vain pretty boy gimmicks. However, Rhodes took that gimmick to a whole new dimension, complete with a digital mirror on the TitanTron where Rhodes would admire himself before each match.
It ...
The Miz: The Future of WWE
On March - 12 - 2011
While everyone has been quick to jump to the conclusion that the Miz will be getting no where in WWE and that he's a temporary champion, the truth is that he will be a key part of WWE in the near future.
Before I get started, let me remind you that guys like Triple H and The Undertaker will not be around forever. We've already seen the departure of Batista and Shawn Michaels. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that WWE needs to create new main event wrestlers in order for the company to survive.
In case you haven't been ...
Christian: Should He Be in the World Heavyweight Title Match at WrestleMania?
On March - 12 - 2011
Christian is perhaps the greatest superstar to have never won a WWE World Title. He was part of one of the greatest tag teams of all time with his best friend, Edge, being seven-time tag team champions. He helped revolutionize the ladder match, and made TLC famous with the Hardyz and Dudleyz. He is one of the greatest mid-card stars WWE has had, being a three-time Intercontinental Champion, nine-time Tag Team Champion, former European, Hardcore, and Light Heavyweight Champion, and a two-time ECW Champion, one of the longest-reigning of all time.
Yet, the Big One itself has completely eluded Captain Charisma, ...
Dragon Gate USA: Austin Aries Puts It All on the Line for Championship Gold
On March - 12 - 2011
Austin Aries has faced many difficult challenges during his eleven years as a professional wrestler.
Despite being one of the most popular stars on the independent wrestling scene for the better part of the past five years, success in the mainstream has always eluded “A Double.”
A few weeks back, news broke that Aries auditioned for the upcoming version of WWE Tough Enough but did not make the roster for the rebooted reality project.
This rejection appears to have been the final straw for the self-professed “Greatest Man That Ever Lived.“
The years of hard work that he has put in on the independent ...
The things that will make me always remember good ol’ WCW
On March - 12 - 2011
Ten years ago, WCW finally shut its doors after rising to the top of the industry only to come crashing down to rock bottom in only a few years.WCW was what many wrestling fans will remember as the wrestling they grew up watching as kids. Young people like myself, at the time, were able to watch albeit for a brief period of time, some of the legends who had made names for themselves in the hey-day of the NWA and the early days of the WWF. When Ted Turner's WCW first got on its feet, he along with Eric Bischoff ...
Michael Cole Buries an Entire Division—Way to Go, WWE!
On March - 12 - 2011
Here we go again, Bleachers. Time to get something off my chest—again. This past Monday on RAW, I witnessed something that utterly disgusted me. I'd gotten a small peek at it before, during Season Three of NXT, when the show featured all rookie divas. What occurred during NXT was bad enough...but for it to happen live on RAW, during an actual championship match was sickening and infuriating at the same time.I'm of course referring to the Divas Championship match, when current champion Eve defended the title against Nikki Bella. Michael Cole had the absolute nerve to stand up and interrupt the match, ...
Wade Barrett: He Has All the Tools But Will He Be World Champion?
On March - 11 - 2011
When the bright yellow lights of NXT Season One arose, there was one man everyone was looking forward to seeing: The Internet Darling and established Indies star, Bryan “American Dragon” Danielson.
Danielson’s popularity overshadowed every other contestant before the start of the show and when it debuted on that faithful night, we got a glimpse of WWE’s fresh talent.
Along with Danielson there were Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Skip Sheffield, Michael Tarver, Heath Slater, Darren Young and David Otunga.
With each star, there came a set of different WWE Superstar traits. The established star in Bryan, high flyer in Gabriel, Vince’s preference in ...
