BR KOTR Qualifier: Dolph Ziggler vs. Evan Bourne
On July - 28 - 2010
Dolph Ziggler: Height - 6 ft 0 in Weight - 221 lb From - Hollywood, Florida Ziggler is one of those people who has underperformed in the WWE. The guy clearly has talent, but we havn't really seen enough of it yet.
The fact that his only title success in the WWE came as part of the Spirit Squad says it all really. However, Ziggler is clearly an excellent in-ring competitor.
Look at his amateur record!
Ziggler holds the record number of pins at his school (82), and holds the second-biggest number of pins for Kent State University. He's the last person ...
BR KOTR Qualifier: MVP Vs. Shad Gaspard
On July - 28 - 2010
Here we go... the first match of the Bleacher Report King of The Ring is up and what a way to start!
MVP
Height - 6-foot-3 Weight - 259 pounds From - Miami, Fla.
What can you say about MVP that hasn't been said before? The guy is a master athlete. Combining a technical style of wrestling reliant of reversals and submission holds, with an agility usually reserved for cruiserweights, MVP has the credentials to be World Champion.
However, he's never been able to get his hands on the gold. Maybe his brashness and arrogance make him too lax in his offence, or maybe ...
The Greatest Ever: Chris Jericho vs. Chris Beniot
On July - 28 - 2010
Earlier today I was in a somewhat stagnated and lethargic mood, so I turned towards my television for inspiration.
As I was mindlessly flicking through the channels, hoping for some motivation for the day ahead, I found it. I came across a rare beauty, which shook my very foundations and encouraged me to write to you today.
The match was Chris Jericho vs. Chris Beniot, but not one that many will know. It was from the 1995 Super J Cup in Japan. I was pleasantly surprised to find a wrestling show to help me justify my seemingly desperate plea for an explanation ...

WWE’s Idiotic Business Model: Celebrate Garbage, Ignore Talent
On July - 28 - 2010
As I have enthusiastically argued in the past, professional wrestling has an edge over other forms of combat sports entertainment precisely because the aim isn’t to maim the opponent. Although most combat sports necessitate a great amount of finesse from their participants in order to compete, what is unique about professional wrestling is that it also requires one to be able to tell a convincing story and have a solid grasp of psychology.
Unfortunately, however, in recent years, skill has been blithely placed on the back burner and psychology is as foreign a concept to many current wrestlers as ...
Weekend Recap: Ring Of Honor, CHIKARA, Evolve, Dragon Gate USA
On July - 28 - 2010
This past weekend was easily the biggest weekend for independent wrestling this summer. With a Ring of Honor triple-shot in the midwest, the fourth Evolve show, Dragon Gate USA's first year anniversary and a big CHIKARA show to round things out, it may have been the biggest indy weekend in recent memory.
Before getting into the recap, credit and thanks must go out to the fine folks on the ROH forums and PWInsider.com for providing results for all of the action over the weekend. Instead of going over everything, I'm just going to touch on some of the major happenings from ...
Do Something Right? No, Stop Doing Things Wrong

That is the only thing that Vince McMahon is doing right these days.
That's right. I said it. Vinnie Mac has officially lost his marbles. This isn't news to most wrestling fans. It's not even news to myself. In the long hiatus I've taken from Bleacher Report, I've sat by quietly and observed.
I've observed the fact that TNA Wrestling is now a permanently damaged product name with little to no chance of making any kind of recovery. I've observed the fact that Dixie Carter is a no-nothing figurehead who clearly has no intention of ...

Why Pro Wrestling Should Be an Olympic Sport and How It Could Happen.
On July - 27 - 2010
Let's face it, professional wrestling is far more popular worldwide than most Olympic sports.
Combined. Though I don't actually believe that pro wrestling is a true sport, I do feel that its displays of athleticism are far superior than most other Olympic events. I'd say that I'm fairly new to wrestling. Much newer than most of the internet's wrestling community, but trust me, I'm hooked. Since last year's Wrestlemania push, I've formed my own opinions of every WWE superstar.
I've grown to hate John Cena, but I don't know why.
I think The Miz is worthy of a belt, purely ...
