Karen Angle Marries Jeff Jarrett?!

Posted by John Kindelan On August - 31 - 2010
Karen Angle has recently changed her twitter ID to "Karen Jarrett." The couple must have recently said their “I Dos” this month as they have been engaged since April of this year. How does this happen? How does Kurt walk by him in the hall? What about the kids Kyrad, 8, and Kody, 4, that Karen and Kurt have together? How does mommy explain now she’s with the man Daddy wrestles against. Are you kidding me?!  Yes there’s a “code” between guys. But there should be a code between professionals, too, and I would think even more so with professional wrestlers. People who have to ...

Tuesdays at TNA: Where Are the Heels?

Posted by John Reid On August - 31 - 2010
Welcome back to Tuesdays at TNA, where we discuss the hottest topics in Dixieland! We are less than one week away from No Surrender, which will feature the semifinals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament, and I noticed something odd.  Yes, I know that everyone remaining in the bracket (Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Mr. Anderson, and The Pope) are known more for their time in WWE than being actual "TNA homegrown" stars, but that they are all FACES! This has been a longstanding problem in TNA for quite some time, as they still have no concept on how to build up a ...

WWE to Unify All Major Championships within the Next Year?

Posted by Joe Burgett On August - 31 - 2010
As we all know, the WWE has been around for decades. It has been THE pro-wrestling company in the world, and a force not only in the sports world (despite not being an actual sport) but also the entertainment industry. Because of its popularity, a ton of wrestlers have entered the company. Many of them have been so excellent at their job that the WWE had to separate them into brands. There was still one champion called the "Undisputed Champion." Eventually with such great talent deserving to be World Champions, the WWE eventually had to give a World Title to ...

Spotlighting Our Legends Past: Series 1, Volume 4

Posted by Matthew Hester On August - 31 - 2010
It’s been a while since I have done an edition of Spotlighting Our Legends Past. I am very happy that everyone seems to be enjoying the series so far. Wrestling history is one of my true passions. So when I do these it’s more of a treat knowing you enjoy them. In this edition we are going to cover people who not only had charisma, but also brains and beauty. Whether they helped Pioneer wrestling for a gender, or just knew how to gab on the stic, these greats will always be remembered for their contributions to the business.    The Fabulous Moolah   One ...
Earlier this month, reports surfaced all over the Internet stating that the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Champion, Tyler Black, had signed a developmental deal with World Wrestling Entertainment. Over the course of August, this news has been turned into one of the most intriguing storylines in ROH. In a move strangely reminiscent of CM Punk, Black claims that he is going to leave the promotion as the champion and take the title with him to the “greener pastures” of the WWE. While this move does come off a bit too much like Punk’s actions in 2005, when he won the ROH World ...

Jerichoholics, Prepare Yourself for the Worst

Posted by Matthew Hester On August - 31 - 2010
This week’s RAW was a really bad one for me. Not because we didn’t get to see Stone Cold, the Rock, Marty Jannetty, or any of the other sacks of meat they could have dug up from the past. In fact from a wrestling standpoint it was a decent episode of RAW. What really made me cringe in fear this week was the announcement Jericho made during his promo. For those that missed it; Jericho stated that he would quit the WWE if he didn’t win the belt at Night of Champions. Normally I don’t look too much into wrestling promos, but with no ...
The 900th installment of Raw was a good show overall, with an interesting booking and promos. The matches were also actually entertaining and the results were very decent.  For such an historic episode, Raw didn't deliver as much as expected. No major surprise such as the presence of The Rock or Stone Cold; no Jim Ross at the announce table. The footage from the past episodes were nice to watch but the anniversary show deserved bigger. That being said, WWE delivered a solid and outstanding spectacle for various other reasons.    Kane Behind Nexus? It looks like Kane is the mastermind pulling The Nexus' strings.  With the ...

Raw’s 900th Episode Bombs!

Posted by John Betschel On August - 31 - 2010
Yesterday was Raw's 900th Episode, a huge landmark in WWE history as no other weekly syndicated show in television history has gone for 900 episodes. With all the things that have happened over the last seventeen years on Raw, all the different superstars that have come and gone, you would figure they would have some of the legendary superstars from the past come and make an appearance. Oh how wrong we were. Besides having some superstars from Smackdown come over on Raw, and some clips from past shows, this episode was no different than any other. It just sort of lingered on and ...

WWE RAW 900 Comments and Questions from August 30 2010

Posted by Rob Belote On August - 31 - 2010
It's the historic 900th edition of Monday Night RAW, and having seen probably over 95 percent of the episodes, I'm hoping that something special happens here tonight. With Smackdown in the building and Night Of Champions just a couple weeks away, this is sure to be an episode to remember one way or another. The Six-Pack Challenge for the RAW World Title has already been announced.  A 5-on-5 elimination match reminiscent of the SummerSlam main event is going to occur tonight with 5 guys from RAW (Cena, Sheamus, Edge, Jericho, Orton) and the 5 non-injured members of Nexus.  What else is in ...

WWE SMACKDOWN Review: Undertaker Will Never R.I.P.

Posted by Jay Brennan On August - 30 - 2010
World Heavyweight Champion Kane vs. Rey Mysterio in a No DQ Match:   The Big Red Machine choke slammed Mysterio onto a steel chair for the victory after Kane handled most of the match.   I haven’t the slightest idea how Rey Mysterio would be facing Kane in a match after losing a match clean to a newcomer. In my estimate, that would usually drop you from contention.   Alberto Del Rio confronted Mysterio after the match, later saying Mysterio looked like a “dying dog” that needed to be “put down.” Del Rio threw Mysterio into the ringside guardrail. Del Rio locked in his ...
