Revamping the WWE PPV Program

For years, the WWE has dropped the ball on naming and placing their pay-per-view events. Some have be revamped to appeal to the new PG-era demographic, while others have been dropped and forgotten. I think the whole idea that WWE creative has about using "themed PPVs" has both sunk their PPV buy rates and hurt iconic matches like Hell In A Cell. So, instead of just complaining about it, I decided to lay out a plan for the future of the PPV horizon.Begin Slideshow
Brock Lesnar: Feud with Triple H Is a Smart Move
On May - 1 - 2012ADD COMMENTS
Be honest. When Brock Lesnar signed on to make appearances with the WWE, you were just waiting for the inevitable Triple H feud, right?I mean, c'mon. What could be better than these two massive, brutally strong men doing battle in the ring? The sheer power between the two would make for an excellent match. After Monday Night Raw, it would appear a feud is under way, and may even lead to a match between the two at SummerSlam 2012.It's the perfect setup: Brock Lesnar plays the part of the egotistical heel that physically destroys everyone in his path and thinks he ...
I didn't write this live this week. I wrote as I watched a replay though, so it comes off as a live viewing. I like this format the best, at least for now. Live from Dayton, Ohio, this is the Raw Deal... The show begins with a video package highlighting the Lesnar/Cena match from Extreme Rules. (I covered it all on Sunday night here, in case you missed it.) The opening video package ended with the graphic saying "Raw Supershow starring Brock Lesnar." Even Justin Roberts said "Monday Night Raw starring Brock Lesnar." Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcomed us ...
On Monday night, WWE presented a solid Raw show. Everybody has their opinions on what was entertaining, but it is time to look into the real television figures. Numbers don't lie. For a reminder, last week's Raw drew a 3.3 rating for the standard two hours (3.06 rating counting all three hours). This week is more of the same but with more viewers than last week. The first hour drew 4,991,000 million viewers. The second hour drew 4,768,000 million viewers. The official number for Raw was a 3.3 rating. My Thoughts on This News WWE just missed having an average of ...
WWE: 5 Feuds We Need to See in 2012
On May - 1 - 2012ADD COMMENTS
WWE has plenty of talented performers on their hands that could put together a decent feud if they were given the chance to.The brand identities of Raw and Smackdown are pretty irrelevant at this point, so the feuds I'm gonna run through aren't draft specific. They'll involve current WWE main roster talents that could tear the house down by working together. Before I get into this, I just want to say that the following matches and comments made are my opinion. That doesn't mean they're right or wrong.Hopefully, we'll get some talking points from this article.Let's get to it.Begin Slideshow
WWE: Are You a WWE Fan or a Wrestling Fan?
On May - 1 - 2012ADD COMMENTS
It has been about 15 years since the wrestling industry has had two major competitors that are able to put on really good shows. I am speaking of WCW and WWF—now WWE. In the last two or three years, the WCW became unwatchable to me. Both the WWE and WCW pushed wrestling aside to put on spectacles.I have noticed that modern-day viewers of the WWE seem to be more fascinated with the spectacle that goes on rather than the actual wrestling. Lets face it, the Rock and John Cena's year-long feud was more interesting than the actual match at WrestleMania. However, ...

On May - 1 - 2012ADD COMMENTS
SummerSlam 2012 might be on its way to having an epic main event.Brock Lesnar was originally rumored to be facing Randy Orton at SummerSlam in 2012. That angle appears to have shifted after the Triple H and Lesnar ordeal on Raw on Monday night. As with all things, until it is announced by the WWE, things are always subject to change, but according to Eric Gargiulo of CamelClutchBlog.com, "(Lesnar's) first big match will take place at SummerSlam 2012 in August."Gargiulo goes on to say "Dave Meltzer reports on the F4WOnline.com podcast that the current plan is to add Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H to SummerSlam 2012."As ...
John Cena: Brock Lesnar’s Reported Blowup Proves WWE Needs Their Top Star

After one of the most brutal main events in recent WWE history, the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View was not the end of the show. While John Cena was reportedly supposed to be carried out of the building on a stretcher according to the storyline, he ad-libbed his speech after the show. This is the trigger for the reported post-show tantrum the former UFC star threw. Questions about Lesnar’s commitment to the WWE and how the actual relationship between the two enterprises would unfold after lawsuits between the two may be a bad sign moving forward. F4Wonline.com (subscription users only) is reporting about ...
