AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens: Comparing WWE SmackDown, Raw’s Booking of Top Heels

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On January - 20 - 2017

AJ Styles has had a distinct edge over Kevin Owens as the two villains have reigned over WWE SmackDown and Raw, respectively: superior booking. The amount of electricity surrounding their upcoming title bouts speak to that. Styles is poised to face John Cena for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Jan. 29. Owens will defend the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns the same night. SmackDown's championship bout is more appealing, a collision of titans belonging to the blue ...

After several months of silence, EVOLVE pro wrestling looks to be back on track. The promotion recently revamped their web site and announced that their seventh show will be taking place on April 19 at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in Times Square. This event marks the debut of the EVOLVE brand in New York City and is the promotion’s first show since November of last year. The DVD release of that show, EVOLVE 6, is also now available for pre-order. While no matches or talent have been announced for EVOLVE 7, any news from the promotion is good news at ...

WWE: Rachel’s Viewpoint: What’s Next for Dolph Ziggler?

Posted by Rachel Miller On February - 19 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
On the Feb. 18 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Teddy Long returned to the show after a three-week hiatus after being attacked and made a shocking revelation that it was Dolph Ziggler who was the perpetrator. And here's a story about Ziggler's career and what's next for the former Intercontinental Champion.Ziggler (born Nicholas Nemeth) began his WWE career back in January 2006 on RAW as Nicky, one of the members of the Spirit Squad (which also consisted of Mikey, Mitch, Kenny and Johnny). Their gimmick was that of a male cheerleading squad. After the Spirit Squad disbanded in November of that same ...

I recently came across an amazing tribute video dedicated to The Rock. It inspired me to write this article. Some wrestlers invoke emotions in fans like no other. We grow to love them and tell our kids about them. They become a staple in our childhood and revolve around our fondest memories. The following tributes are some of the best I've ever seen.Begin Slideshow

WWE Superstar of the Week: Feb.13 to Feb.19

Posted by Nate Scaccia On February - 18 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
With Elimination Chamber this Sunday, the WWE gave its viewers two huge shows. On Raw, The Rock returned to host Wrestlemania while Smackdown celebrated its 600th episode. Both brands gave me a superstar to consider for the Superstar of the Week. The Miz gets my attention as Raw's Superstar of the Week contender. Miz defeated the United States Champion Daniel Bryan on Raw. This was a very good match where Miz showed what he could do in the ring. On Smackdown, The Miz also showcased his skills. Miz defeated the Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston with a little help from the distraction ...

WWE Brewing Thoughts: The Return of The Great One, The Rock

Posted by Josh Brewer On February - 18 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
We are just two days away from Elimination Chamber this Sunday, and three days from the culmination of the 2.21.11 promos. It will be a big finish to what has become a a huge week in the WWE Universe. As we all know, Monday's edition of Raw concluded with the guest host of WrestleMania XXVII being revealed. Reports late last weekend brought Bob Barker's name to the masses, but most of the Internet Wrestling Community (IWC) had a pretty good feeling The Rock would be announced as the official guest host of WrestleMania. And what an announcement it was. The capacity crowd ...
I would like to thank all of my fellow Bleachers! This is my first official article as a Senior Analyst and without your comments, reads, and likes I wouldn’t have been promoted. I intend to show my gratitude with two non-biased articles pertaining to WrestleMania.  His name is Alberto Del Rio but you already knew that. During the summer of 2010, multiple vignettes aired hyping the debut of this Hispanic Superstar. We knew him as Dos Caras Jr., son of the legendary Dos Caras Sr. and an established star from Mexico.  Upon his debut, Del Rio made an immediate impact. ...

Best Promos In WWE History Part 3

Finally after nearly two weeks, I have decided to put part 3 up. This slideshow will feature promos that are based my opinion and fellow bleacher creatures opinions. It's been a week full of excitement and jubilation. Please enjoy the slideshow and leave your suggestions for part 4 in the comment section.Begin Slideshow
It's Friday Night, and that means it's time for SmackDown!  For each of the weekly WWE bookend shows to start and finish off the week, I do an article with my perspective—giving results and analysis in the form of questions, comments and random thoughts. Before getting to the show, let's consider some of the outstanding questions we're still waiting to know about.Obviously, the first question focuses on the biggest addition (or re-addition) to the roster:  Will The Rock show up on SmackDown?Instead of smacking down my question on its face, consider that The Rock should probably interact a little bit with ...

Smackdown Showdown: A Battle of Epic Proportions is Upon Us

Posted by Steven Elonich On February - 18 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
Tonight, on the historic 600th episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown, there will be an inter-league twelve man tag match. The two teams will consist of RAW's John Cena, Randy Orton, John Morrison and R-Truth combined with Smackdown's Rey Mysterio and Edge who will be having a fierce and gruesome battle with Smackdown's Kane, Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre who will be teamed up with Raw's CM Punk and King Sheamus. This will not only help decide which brand of wrestling is better, but give us an indication about which wrestlers deserve a shot at the coveted titles. Not only will ...
Before you click the "back" button, this isn't just another article about The Rock's return to the WWE, it's a little deeper than that. Before I go any further, let me opine about his appearance on Monday Night RAW. It was quite easily the best promo of the PG Era by a long way; a promo clinic given by a master at the top of his game, as a good as any he's given in his career. Other wrestlers could learn a lot from him. Which brings me to my main point. We're less than two months into 2011 and we've seen the return ...
