AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens: Comparing WWE SmackDown, Raw’s Booking of Top Heels

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On January - 20 - 2017

AJ Styles has had a distinct edge over Kevin Owens as the two villains have reigned over WWE SmackDown and Raw, respectively: superior booking. The amount of electricity surrounding their upcoming title bouts speak to that. Styles is poised to face John Cena for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Jan. 29. Owens will defend the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns the same night. SmackDown's championship bout is more appealing, a collision of titans belonging to the blue ...

When a WWE Superstar leaves unexpectedly or for reasons out of their control, it leaves a dent in the WWE Universe. The show isn't the same with that certain Superstar absent. At the same time, the wrestler sets himself as a favorite among the fans. Some fade out of existence and the others...while the others make triumphant returns to the squared circle. The crowd goes absolutely insane! Some drawing pops unmatched by some of the best Superstars in the WWE.I've taken a liking to this situation. After reviewing tons of videos and the magnitude of the crowd's reaction I've chosen a few. ...

King Of The Ring: WWE Misses Out on Golden Opportunity

Posted by Andrew J. Kearney On December - 5 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
I attended the WWE King of the Ring last Monday night and it was a stellar event.  It was probably the best RAW of 2010 and one of the best live shows I've ever been to in my hometown of Philadelphia. That being said, the WWE still doesn't get a pass on their major miscue from that night. The Miz vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler bout for the WWE Championship is a Match of the Year candidate.  This TLC match had it all and then some.  Lawler, who celebrated his 61st birthday that evening, really delivered for a good 12 minutes. The match ...

Miz: Is He Going To Be The Next “Nature Boy” Ric Flair?

Posted by Jack Windham On December - 5 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Jim Ross recently compared the Miz to Ric Flair and Buddy Rogers. Flair and Rogers not only share the "Nature Boy" nickname, but they also share the same distinction of being two of the greatest performers that the wrestling business has ever seen. They should be in every single wrestling hall of fame on the planet. Another thing that the two shared was their cowardly heel character. For those of you that aren't aware, the cowardly heel routine has been around the business since close to Day 1. It is a tried and true gimmick that has worked the audience for years. For decades ...

2011 WWE Royal Rumble Preview: So Many Possibilities

Posted by Micheal Robinson On December - 4 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
At the 2010 WWE Royal Rumble, at which I was ringside, we saw a lot of action. Sheamus retained his WWE Championship against Randy Orton, The Undertaker retained the World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Mysterio, and Edge returned and won the Royal Rumble match. A year later, a lot of things have changed in the WWE. Next month, we will see the 2011 Royal Rumble, live from a chilly TD Garden in Boston. The Miz is now the WWE Champion. Will he still have the title after WWE TLC this month, and if he does, who will he face at the Royal Rumble? Over on ...

The Current Top 10 WWE Wrestlers

This is my first-ever Bleacher Report article.  I am happy to be one of the lucky ones able to share my thoughts with the world.  All this quick slideshow is is just a showcase of my opinions.  Who I think are the WWE's (mainly RAW) Top 10 wrestlers (and one stable, guess who?  Hint: N). Anyway, here goes!Begin Slideshow
We’ve all heard of it. Whether it’s the classic “Vince Promo” behind the scenes, or his refusal to push a certain star due to past issues, Vince McMahon has never shied away from showing who the top dog is. This is due, in part, to the ruthless demeanour that put him on top. Vince McMahon has never let WWE be pushed around or seen in a weak and vulnerable light. His intolerance has been shown perennially to people that thought they were bigger than the company, and Vince has time and time again proven that they are not. Spectators are ...

WWE The Music, Vol. 11: A Sneak Preview

Posted by Benjamin Benya On December - 4 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
The world of professional wrestling has given us some larger than life personalities over time, and most pundits would agree that the music accompanying said superstars is just as important as the wrestlers themselves. Would Hulk Hogan be as memorable if it weren’t for “Real American?” Or how about the signature gong for the Undertaker’s “Graveyard Symphony?” Over the past several years, the WWE has found a way to monetize this content for the WWE Universe, releasing albums, LP’s and downloadable content for the masses to jam out to their favorite theme song at home or in the car. Face ...
