AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens: Comparing WWE SmackDown, Raw’s Booking of Top Heels

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On January - 20 - 2017

AJ Styles has had a distinct edge over Kevin Owens as the two villains have reigned over WWE SmackDown and Raw, respectively: superior booking. The amount of electricity surrounding their upcoming title bouts speak to that. Styles is poised to face John Cena for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Jan. 29. Owens will defend the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns the same night. SmackDown's championship bout is more appealing, a collision of titans belonging to the blue ...

WWE Forgotten Legends 4: Big Van Vader

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On June - 2 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
IT'S TIME, IT'S TIME, IT'S VADER TIME. For those who have been following this series, I am sorry it took so long to write this one, but Vader is an interesting man and I wanted to take my time and do him justice. Vader, Born Leon Allen White, is one of pro wrestling's more interesting characters to say the least. White was a high school football star who was so good that he was approached by over forty colleges to come play for them. He ended up deciding on the University of Colorado where he earned All American status. During his time in ...
The future of wrestling is here, and it's green! Whilst critics, often jealous of his in-ring abilities, frequently call for his release from the WWE, I've never been able to understand why anyone would want to see the decline of the talented, impish superstar we know as Hornswoggle. Dylan Postl is an exceptional athlete with one of the widest move sets in the industry—from his legendary tadpole splash, ankle biting, and his patented roll under the ring. Is there any other wrestler with more moves working today? His microphone skills have improved to no end over his time in the ...

WWE Injuries Stacking Up Going Into Fatal 4-Way PPV

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On June - 2 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
WWE is heading into their first Fatal 4 Way PPV, and it seems that some of the talent will be unable to make the show due to injuries. It is being reported that Undertaker suffered a broken bone from his recent match with Mysterio and will be out all summer. This is bad news for WWE as they had planned to have Taker in the main event for the show. Add Taker to an all ready growing list of injured stars. Ted Dibiase had to postpone the debut of his new stable due to an injury.  At the last WWE PPV R-Truth slapped ...

Wade Barrett Wins WWE NXT, Matt Morgan Acting, Evan Bourne’s Push

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On June - 2 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Last night on the season finale of WWE's first season of NXT we saw a winner crowned.  Wade Barrett won the competition in what was a pretty solid competition.  In the beginning everyone in the IWC thought Daniel Bryan was a lock to win the whole thing, but once his losing streak started to escalate, it was clear WWE had different plans for Bryan. Wade Barrett at first just looked like any other big guy.  He was cocky, dominant in the ring and had the right look for WWE.  But soon he started to stand out from the rest.  After winning the ...

An Inside Look At WWE NXT Season 2

Posted by John Betschel On June - 2 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
With WWE NXT season one all wrapped up, season two is seemingly looking a little more prominent. This season, WWE went from having a bunch of unknowns that no one has ever heard of before (except Brian Danielson aka Daniel Bryan), to having more superstars that people will actually want to see. There are three people in general that will probably have the WWE Universe's captive attention. The first would be "Husky Harris," a third generation superstar who's Grandfather is Hall Of Famer Blackjack Mulligan, and his Father is future Hall Of Famer Mr. Irwin R. Schyster (I.R.S., aka Mike Rotundo). Both Harris’s predecessors ...
Davey Richards may very well be the hottest wrestler on the independent circuit these days. Combining speed, power and pure wrestling ability, Richards has developed a rabid, cult-like following of devoted fans. He has competed all over the globe and throughout the North American independent scene. Success has followed him no matter where he has been. In 2006, Richards won the East Coast Wrestling Association "Super 8" tournament. The "Super 8" is seen by many as a launching pad for up-and-coming talent and has been won by guys like Christopher Daniels, Low-Ki and Paul London. Winning the tournament vaulted Richards to the top of the ...

WWE: The Fear Of The Black Champion

Posted by Money Long On June - 2 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
First I want to shout out one of my favorite black wrestlers, Norman Smiley! You never won but you were my dude! Big Wiggle for life! I wanted to write this earlier, but I just got approved by the BR. So I do not want to take any fire away from the other recent articles about African-American champs. I want to start by saying I have been a huge wrestling fan my whole life. The Macho Man was my hero, but when Shawn Michaels showed up with The Rockers...I was hooked. HBK was my hero (still is, really). However, as a young black ...

Wrestlers Are People Too: Cruel Words Uncalled For

Posted by Jacob Waring On June - 2 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
We as wrestling fans have a habit of criticizing wrestlers for a variety of reasons. It can be for their in-ring work or lousy microphone work. It can be for not portraying their gimmick correctly or just not being charismatic enough. The sad reality is that many fans do not draw the line at bashing, which can become cruel and malicious at times. Many go as far as to bash the individual for his/her mistakes that he/she had made. No one is perfect and it's wrong to bash that person's personal life and their screw-ups. I'll name some examples of wrestlers who ...
Often the IWC and the WWE build a reputation around a new superstar for his likeness to a legendary wrestler. In this article, we take a look at some of these comparisons, and see which wrestlers have the potential to live up to their legendary counterparts. Note: I've been swayed to remove the humorous slides and replace them with additional serious ones. I will, however, be creating a separate slideshow for more satirical comparisons. I hope you enjoy the new slides along with the original ones.Begin Slideshow

Ranking the Rookies: NXT Season One Final Analysis

Posted by Benjamin Benya On June - 2 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
WWE's experimental prototype program, NXT, is rolling towards a second “season” just four months after its inauspicious debut. Throughout the first season, we were promised a new, cutting-edge program that was unlike any in wrestling history.   What we got was a different sort of monster altogether. The concept of WWE Pros and Rookies provided more moments of “real” action than any other WWE program in years, attempting to stage the true creative concepts that both smart marks and casual fans have craved for years. Did it work? Were the eight rookies enough to get over NXT as the true “next evolution” ...
