AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens: Comparing WWE SmackDown, Raw’s Booking of Top Heels

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On January - 20 - 2017

AJ Styles has had a distinct edge over Kevin Owens as the two villains have reigned over WWE SmackDown and Raw, respectively: superior booking. The amount of electricity surrounding their upcoming title bouts speak to that. Styles is poised to face John Cena for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Jan. 29. Owens will defend the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns the same night. SmackDown's championship bout is more appealing, a collision of titans belonging to the blue ...

Author's Note: I'm going to try this one more time. This will be the third time I've uploaded this article. There will be no mud slinging or badmouthing of fellow Bleacher Report writers in my comments section. Healthy discussion of this topic is encouraged. Disrespecting and harassing other writers is not . Go ahead, I'll give you all a couple of minutes to soak in the title of this article before scratching your heads and wondering what you did to deserve it. Let me start by saying that this is certainly not directed at all the members ...

TNA Wrestlng: Where Do They Go From Here?

Posted by Adam Kopp On March - 4 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
First and foremost, let me say that I enjoy TNA wrestling.  From the moment I saw AMW come out with Gail Kim and wrestle a better match than anything I'd seen on WWE in the last few years, I knew that I had a new home for my TV viewing pleasure.  Now obviously, I've been watching for a while.  Back then, Jeff Jarrett was an absolute tool; Joe was destroying people; AJ was a kid that could fly high; Abyss was a monster—and everything was right with the world.  The show was pretty green—not a ton of pyro or grand montages like the "competition." But they ...
Welcome, Bleachers, to the second ever edition of Jaden's View. Today's topic is whether spoilers make matches less interesting to watch. Before we begin, the spoilers I'm talking about in this article are spoilers that give away match results. Honestly, whenever I read Smackdown spoiler results, it takes all of the excitement out of the show since I already know what is going to happen. Which is probably why WWE decided to make Raw—their flagship show—a live broadcast. Personally for me, on one hand, spoilers don't really change anything because we have yet to see what actually happens.   On the other hand, spoilers make the ...
Hulk Hogan has defeated the best of a begotten era: Macho Man, Ric Flair, and many more. There is only one man who has gotten the best of him twice—once in 1991, and the other time in 2002. That man is the "Phenom," The Undertaker. The man who is undefeated in all his WrestleMania matches. The Hulkster never got his just revenge, and it has to be eating away at him whenever he watches a WWE show. Hulk Hogan is given credit for influencing the beginning of the “Granddaddy of them all.” He was headlining WrestleMania after ...

TNA: Where Have You Gone, Ladies?

Posted by Adam Kopp On March - 3 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Yes, that's Angelina Love, the ladies answer to Chris Jericho.  Why?  Because she's great on the mic and she's one of the few talents out there—especially among the ladies—that are just as much fun to cheer for when she's good as she is to boo when she's bad.  Plus, like Y2J, she's a hell of a talented performer in the ring, capable of carrying less talented competition (I'm looking at you Lacey Von Erich) to enjoyable matches and their subsequent feuds. For some time now, it's been common knowledge that TNA has vastly superior female wrestling to the competition up north.  If you don't believe that, then ...

Wrestlemania Predictions 1.0

Posted by Anakin Cane On March - 3 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Wrestlemania is less than a month away so I decided to have some fun and put together the first version of predictions. These predictions are based on total ring activity and not by storyline or backstage politics, in other words, all my predictions in this series are based on wrestling being totally legit.  The Wrestlemania card is still rather small and in the next few weeks, expect the event to grow by four matches.   Money In the Bank Paticipants-The Miz, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Kane, Jack Swagger, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP Two more participants are expected, but with the current competitors expect Christian to ...

The WWE: It’s Greatness

Posted by Dark Shadow On March - 3 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
The WWE, it's not just entertainment.  It's so many other things as well.  It's a past time, a hobby, and more.  I know so many who say it's fake.  I call that ignorance.  Supertsars do happen to get hurt.  But, that isn't the focus of this article.  The WWE has given me the opportunity to vent, among other things.  Its also almost like a democracy.  YOU decide who's a face and who's a heel.  You cheer, you boo.  When it's a good match, you can even picture yourself inside the ring beating the holy hell out of whoever it is you ...
Last night, NXT had its second show and we finally got some answers as to how the competition part of the show works. Apparently the WWE pros will be voting for the rookies and the announcers made it clear that the pros could not vote for their rookie.  I don't know how this will all shape up, but I have a feeling we know who will be the odds-on favorites. As far as last night's show went, I thought it was a strong second effort by WWE.  The rematch between David Otunga and Darren Young was much better than their match ...
If you have been following the WWE for a while and paying attention to the whole John Morrison-The Miz situation closely, then you should know what I’m talking about. In case you aren’t familiar with the whole situation, I'll sum it up for you. The Miz and Morrison started out as a tag team back in 2007 and won the belts a couple of times. Then The Miz got drafted to RAW, turned on John Morrison, hitting him with his signature move at the time of the Reality Check. While The Miz went to RAW, Morrison seemed to be gaining momentum and success. ...
Smackdown has a heel of a problem: There are too many faces.  Chris Jericho has established himself as the undisputed No. 1 heel on Smackdown. CM Punk is the No. 2 heel, and below that, the ranks of the bad guys get pretty thin. Though the road to Wrestlemania is filled with interesting feuds and great matchups, there's going to be a problem after the Big Show. The draft won't help because other than Batista and Sheamus, Raw doesn't have many high profile heels either. So what can the WWE do? Kane is no longer scary, Drew McIntyre is not that ...
