WWE Best of Best, Part 1 of 8: The 10 Greatest Brawlers

Posted by Dan Power On September - 3 - 2010

It is too hard to get a consensus on who is the best wrestler in WWE history (from 1982, when it became WWF). So I decided to create seven slideshows featuring six different styles and one with the women; then, to conclude the series, I will try to determine the "Top 10 Biggest WWE Stars".The following wrestlers may have some other abilities, but they are specialized in street fights, using their fists as primary weapons. ...

The Two Sheds Review: WCW/New Japan Collision in Korea

Posted by Julian Radbourne On September - 1 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
It was the one-time meeting of legends as over 300,000 fans gathered over a two day period in April 1995 in Pyongyang, North Korea as World Championship Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling joined forces for Collision in Korea, with Mike Tenay, Eric Bischoff and Sonny Onoo handling commentary duties. The show began with 2 Cold Scorpio facing Wild Pegasus, otherwise known as he whose name must never be spoken again. An excellent opening encounter between two wrestlers in the prime of their careers. These guys were well suited to each other, and it’s a shame that they weren’t given much longer.Pegasus ...

Wrestlers Shouldn’t Involve Their Wives in the Business

Posted by Josh McCain On September - 1 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
I'm sure by now many of you have read John Kindelan's fine article about Karen Angle, Kurt Angle's ex-wife, marrying Jeff Jarret.  If not here it is, http://bleacherreport.com/articles/447256-karen-angle-marries-jeff-jarrett. Go check it out. Reading it got me thinking, how many times have we seen a wrestler involve his wife or girlfriend in the business only to lose her; most of the time to another wrestler. It can get cloudy at times given story lines of a "fake" breakup, but this sometimes leads to an actual breakup. Lets run down the list (feel free to add ones I missed in the comments section): Kurt and Karen ...

WWE NXT Season 3 Analyzed

Posted by John Betschel On September - 1 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
First off, before I start my article on season three of NXT I would like to congratulate Kaval for winning season two; he well deserved it and I'm happy that all his years of hard work have finally paid off. Now on to the article. WWE announced that season three will be an all-divas contest. This is a smart idea for WWE as they are lacking in the divas division, getting rid of one their top divas in Mickie James and with Beth Phoenix out with an ACL tear. Also the recent letting go of Serena, another female who was a pretty decent ...
In what was supposed to be the next installment of an upstart stable inspired by WWE NXT, building off any residual momentum that may or may not be left from the Nexus stable, the WWE rookies more than stubbed their proverbial toes as WWE NXT: Season 2 went out with a whimper.  What could have been a promising (yet tired) concept played out like a minor league cluster you-know-what on the WWE's minor league show.  From start to finish, the booking of the "Genesis" angle was handled poorly as Michael McGillicutty cut the second of two boring, uninspiring promos that ...
Welcome to the inaugural edition of Random Ring Remarks where the readers control the content. The format is simply. You ask the questions. I answer them. You can do that at http://www.formspring.me/BOestriecher (which is incredibly easy and doesn't require you to sign up) or on Twitter at http://twitter.com/B_Oestriecher. The questions can be about anything involving wrestling, or even pro sports. After answering about a dozen or so, I'll post them here at Bleacher Report, so you guys can debate my answers and provide your own in the comments section. I started this about two weeks ago, and the response has been very good. Almost nothing is off limits. ...
The WWE might have a new problem on their hands. At the end of the finale of NXT Season Two, after it was announced that Kaval was the winner, the eliminated rookies of Season Two attacked. Although it was a confusing brawl, at one point Alex Riley used his finisher on Percy Watson; it ended with Riley, Watson, Husky Harris, Lucky Cannon, Titus O'Niel and Michael McGillicutty standing over a fallen Kaval. I'll get back to that later but first I'll talk about the rest of the show. The final three rookies, Riley, McGillicutty and Kaval had a triple threat match that ...

Ranking The Rookies: WWE NXT Season 2 Final Analysis

Posted by Benjamin Benya On August - 31 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
With another several weeks in the books, WWE’s experimental prototype program appears to be at an apex. NXT Season 2 was easily overshadowed by the decision to book a new faction, the Nexus, entirely comprised of Season 1’s competitors. That said, the quality of participants may have been far greater than we could have expected when they were first announced. After a thorough investigation and three months of programming with an Evil Michael Cole, here now is a more accurate projection of how the rookies would have ranked within any pro wrestling universe. No. 8: Titus O’Neil WWE Pro: Zack Ryder Authentically raw, O’Neil ...
Hey WWE Universe. Last night was epic. Raw started out with a legand to open the show, Bret "the Hitman" Hart. Bret was saying that when he first emerged on the scene, Undertaker was there on hand as well. He continued, by saying "900 episodes and 17 years later, we are still around". Just about then, Smackdown Champion, Kane, came out. As soon as he heard his brother's name, he had to get in the ring and ridicule Taker. He was saying that his brother, as well as Bret Hart, are old and feebled, tattered, and worn out. Kane also commented that the ...

My Angry Letter To Vince McMahon

Posted by Chris Polson On August - 31 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Note:  I'm not actually sending this letter to Vince as he wouldn't ever receive it, nor would he actually read it.  But after watching the 900th episode of RAW last night I needed to get some things off my chest.  So, while Vince may not read it, the B/R peeps will, and they are free to agree or disagree without persecution, unlike working for Vince.  It's a little wordy, so if you're looking for a quick article, this isn't the place.   Dear Mr. McMahon, I have been a wrestling fan, more specifically a WWE fan, since I was 8 years old in ...
Note: For those who are unaware of Ring of Honor, I’m so sorry for your loss.To quote the utterly delightful, Ashley Morris, who once quoted Lance Storm, I’d like to be serious for about two and a half minutes or so.With wrestling pundits and priests everywhere pondering and pontificating about whether unifying titles, neck injuries, career-threatening statements and wacky weddings merit any kind of actual, meaningful discourse, I thought it’s about time we shine a little torch on the promotion that’s established its own place in both the hearts and minds of many a wrestling fan.ROH stands for Ring of ...
