Monday’s WWE vs TNA Showdown: Late Reactions

Posted by On March - 10 - 2010

I have been a bit under the weather lately so I was late in getting around to this, but here it is two days later. This past Monday we saw TNA square of with WWE in what is the first of many Monday night showdowns between the two wrestling promotions. I'll start with TNA first since they are the newcomers. The first match of the night saw the return of TNA's mystery man, Sting.  He returned and surprised ...

The WWE: It’s Greatness

Posted by Dark Shadow On March - 3 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
The WWE, it's not just entertainment.  It's so many other things as well.  It's a past time, a hobby, and more.  I know so many who say it's fake.  I call that ignorance.  Supertsars do happen to get hurt.  But, that isn't the focus of this article.  The WWE has given me the opportunity to vent, among other things.  Its also almost like a democracy.  YOU decide who's a face and who's a heel.  You cheer, you boo.  When it's a good match, you can even picture yourself inside the ring beating the holy hell out of whoever it is you ...
Last night, NXT had its second show and we finally got some answers as to how the competition part of the show works. Apparently the WWE pros will be voting for the rookies and the announcers made it clear that the pros could not vote for their rookie.  I don't know how this will all shape up, but I have a feeling we know who will be the odds-on favorites. As far as last night's show went, I thought it was a strong second effort by WWE.  The rematch between David Otunga and Darren Young was much better than their match ...
If you have been following the WWE for a while and paying attention to the whole John Morrison-The Miz situation closely, then you should know what I’m talking about. In case you aren’t familiar with the whole situation, I'll sum it up for you. The Miz and Morrison started out as a tag team back in 2007 and won the belts a couple of times. Then The Miz got drafted to RAW, turned on John Morrison, hitting him with his signature move at the time of the Reality Check. While The Miz went to RAW, Morrison seemed to be gaining momentum and success. ...
Smackdown has a heel of a problem: There are too many faces.  Chris Jericho has established himself as the undisputed No. 1 heel on Smackdown. CM Punk is the No. 2 heel, and below that, the ranks of the bad guys get pretty thin. Though the road to Wrestlemania is filled with interesting feuds and great matchups, there's going to be a problem after the Big Show. The draft won't help because other than Batista and Sheamus, Raw doesn't have many high profile heels either. So what can the WWE do? Kane is no longer scary, Drew McIntyre is not that ...
Go ahead, I'll give you all a couple of minutes to soak in the title of this article before scratching your heads and wondering what you did to deserve it. Let me start by saying that this is certainly not directed at all the members of the Internet Wrestling Community. Just most of you. Every day I sit down at this computer and write articles about wrestling, I do it for the IWC. I defend you people and your opinions. I offer my own opinion here—as though it means something to the higher-ups in the industry we love so much. We all know it ...
Nobody was happier to see ECW go than me. From the very beginning of its incorporation into the WWE Universe, it never managed to deliver that which it promised: a new breed unleashed. Or so they said. ECW became the home for lower-card performers and developmental talent alike. While there might not be anything wrong with that, it was the way in which the WWE tried to allude to its "C-brand" that did greater damage than service they hoped it would provide. Their intentions were noble, but ECW was never given the opportunity to become one third of the WWE Universe. The hour-long time-slot told the entire story, ...
This year's Wrestlemania is full of blockbuster matches. Matches such as John Cena-Batista, Bret Hart-Vince Mcmahon, and what some are already calling the match of the night, Undertaker-Shawn Michaels. Do you know what all of those matches have in common? In my eyes, none of those matches will steal the show at Wrestlemania. I know that most will disagree, but even Undertaker vs HBK doesn't seem like it will steal the show, not this time. Lets face it guys, Undertaker is said to currently be in a lot of pain and HBK can't put on a great match without an assist from the deadman. Now you ...

Is Sheamus vs. HHH at WrestleMania a Pointless Match?

Posted by Scott Manyard On March - 2 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
After last night’s Raw, it became pretty obvious that the much-expected HHH and Sheamus match at Wrestlemania 26 will be happening. Sheamus jumped the railing and attacked HHH after DX lost their rematch for the Unified Tag Team Championship to Show-Miz. So what is the point of having a HHH vs. Sheamus match at Wrestlemania? Well, I can come up with some obvious reasons. It puts Triple H on the Wrestlemania card. And let’s face it, a WrestleMania without Triple H just wouldn't be the same. Second, it puts Sheamus in his first WrestleMania match and against a high-profile guy like HHH. Lastly if the match ...
WrestleMania XXVI has too many main events. And not just "featured" main events, but three matches potentially worthy of going on last at the biggest wrestling event of the year. They are: Chris Jericho vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship, Batista vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship, and The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels.  It's a welcomed dilemma, but one that raises a lot of questions. The three top matches announced all have legitimate shots at going on last, but also at being overshadowed by one of the others. Let's take a look at the first, Chris Jericho vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship.   Why ...
Better late than never I suppose. But then again as they say, if you're not going to do it right, might as well not do it at all. Legacy and the curious case of Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. If you're reading this, chances are that you've caught the last two episodes on Raw and assuming such, you've seen the abolition of Legacy as we know it. If one were to propose the current scenario to me months ago, I might have been a little disappointed. After all, why bring an end to something that could be so great? Could and should aside, destiny was perhaps ...
