WWE: Why Michael Cole Is the Best Heel in Wrestling
On March - 22 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
"Ladies and gentlemen, could I have your attention please? I've just received an email from the anonymous Raw general manager..."
By the time those words are finished, Michael Cole's weaselly voice is barely audible, over the waves of boos and catcalls showered upon him by thousands of WWE fans. In a span of just a few short months, Cole has gone from being a mediocre-at-best play-by-play man for Monday Night Raw to parlaying that into a heel announcer character not seen since the heyday of Bobby Heenan.
Cole is smarmy and arrogant, but he's also smart in his character, which has enabled ...

"The granddaddy of them all," WrestleMania 27, commences at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Sunday, April 3.With matches such as Undertaker vs. Triple H, John Cena vs. The Miz, and Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler, WrestleMania 27 will no doubt be one of the most highly anticipated PPVs in WWE history. That is the good news. The bad news is that WrestleMania 27 will be the last time that we see several Superstars and Divas in WWE, as the company is expected to release several of its employees at the annual spring cleaning several days before the WWE Draft. And so ...
WWE King of the Ring a Sacrificial Lamb as Kevin Dunn Makes Example of Sheamus
On March - 22 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
Sheamus continued his winning ways this past week on Raw with a quick victory over Evan Bourne. The win continued a recent trend of the once-embattled former WWE Champion's revitalization in WWE after a long losing streak. Sheamus' recent winning ways coincide with the Irish-born Superstar's declaration that "the King is Dead" at a recent live event after he won WWE's King of the Ring tournament in November of 2010. In any other instance, the declaration of monarchical dormancy should have signified a kiss of death for Sheamus' WWE career. However since wiping his Irish unmentionables with the crown ...
WWE: The 10 Greatest Heels of the Last 10 Years
On March - 22 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
The Attitude Era saw so many great heels rise to the top of the pro wrestling world. After the WWE/WCW tension died down, pro wrestling lost some of its momentum. Actually, it lost quite a bit and still is not even close to pulling the ratings it did during the Attitude Era.The edgy pro wrestling of the Attitude Era was gone, and the heels were not as over as they once were. Probably due to the fact that they were doing things on TV that, compared to what they did in the Attitude Era, was being a saint. That, however, is ...

WWE: The Rock Signs a Long Term Deal
On March - 22 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
Many fans are under the assumption that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has only signed a short term deal with WWE, but this might not be the case, as he will be appearing for WWE several times after Wrestlemania 27.
Last month, The Rock finally returned to WWE to host this year's Wrestlemania 27 event. Many fans rejoiced and it instantly put WWE in a Wrestlemania season kind of feel that it surely lacked before the arrival of the great one.
A few weeks after his return, everyone thought Rock had only signed with WWE to appear on Raw a few times prior to ...

Cole Vs. Lawler: The Most Developed (and Annoying) Match Going into Wrestlemania
On March - 22 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
Commentators are supposed to commentate. And although many in the IWC do not particularly enjoy “vintage Cole” moments while Michael Cole is commentating, that does not give the WWE the right to turn him into an over-obnoxious, Miz suck up, purely annoying heel.
But what’s worse is this: The feud with Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole is the most developed storyline and match heading into Wrestlemania. And it may be one of the most tasteless ones since the Katie Vick-fueled Triple H and Kane storyline.
For the past couple of months, Cole has pestered Jerry Lawler by screwing him in title matches, ...
WWE Raw: The Miz-John Cena, CM Punk-Randy Orton and More!
On March - 22 - 2011ADD COMMENTS
By John Canton Follow me on Twitter @johnreport Live from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this is the Raw Deal…We got an announcement that the voice of WWE Jim Ross was there. Instead, it was Michael Cole dressed up like Jim Ross in the full outfit. He made his way down to the ring talking really fast, and the crowd was booing really loudly. Cole threw off the JR outfit and made his way into the Cole Mine announcer seat while Josh Mathews and Jerry Lawler were sitting at the regular announce desk. This was fine. Cole is drawing incredible heel heat right ...
