WWE’s TV PG Era: Is It Really That Bad?

Posted by Gabe Mambo On July - 31 - 2010

Professional Wrestling has seen better days. In the days of my youth, the WWE was going through the Attitude Era, the pinnacle of the Monday Night Wars. Thanks to controversial segments, smashmouth wrestling, and TV-14 at its best, the WWE beat out WCW as the top promotion, eventually buying their rival in 2001. In this day and age, the story is different. TV-14 has turned into PG. Many wrestling fans in the Internet wrestling community call this era the "PG ...

Would It Be a Smart Decision for WWE to Make John Cena Say “I Quit”?

Posted by The Animalistic-Viper LP23 On May - 15 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
It seems as if the Batista vs. John Cena feud is coming to an end. This is a feud we all wanted to see after they both won the WWE/World Heavyweight Championships on the same night at WrestleMania 21. They are truly the two biggest stars since the Attitude Era. This feud began late in January, right after the 2010 Edition of the Royal Rumble. Batista and John Cena have had four matches together and all of they're matches have been pretty impressive, some may not agree but you have to give them credit, they put on good matches together. At first it ...
Matt Hardy has time and time again been beat down severly by Drew McIntyre, and this has got too stop. Ways that Matt can get back at Drew is: 1. Interfere in Drew's match at Over The Limit By doing this, Matt shows that he is no push over, that is not gonna be treated like dirt each time, whenever he is in the same ring as Drew. Also by interfering, we can finally get a new IC champion, Kofi Kingston. (But even if Kofi does win I am sure Vince will help the self-proclaimed "Chosen One" out). 2. Turn aggressive against Drew If ...

Hey guys, I am back. The IWC is always flooded with talks about how underrated and underused Matt Hardy is. There are tons of die hard Matt fans who would really love to see him rise to the top of the food chain “at least once” more than anything in this world. Given the fact that Hardy has contributed a lot for this business and gave us really great performances time and again and has refused to “die” so to speak and keeps coming back every time, we need to acknowledge it.   Hence it is time for the WWE Universe to acknowledge ...
Beth Phoenix revealed that she will have to undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL in her left knee. Her surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, at the Dr. Andrews Medical Clinic in Birmingham, Ala. In addition to the ACL tear, Phoenix also suffered a torn meniscus and a sprained MCL. Phoenix wrote in her WWE Universe blog that the injury occurred during a match against Rosa Mendes on WWE Superstars two weeks ago. According to Phoenix, the injury occurred after jumping over Mendes from the turnbuckle. Phoenix stated she landed with her feet together and felt her left knee buckle to the side, and ...
TNA Wrestling returned to Thursday nights with its flagship show, Impact!   However, despite a ratings increase for the third straight week, TNA scored a 0.93 (0.9) with 1.3 (1,275,000) million viewers. I will be providing my opinions on the show and ratings. I felt that the show began with a strong start with Eric Bischoff, Rob Van Dam, AJ Styles, and Jeff Hardy setting up a “dream match” between the three of them—RVD, Styles, and Hardy.  The first match between Tara and Taylor Wilde was short one, lasting just two minutes.  I ...

Major News Concerning Summerslam!

Posted by Lewis W On May - 15 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Hey Bleacherholics! The biggest blockbuster of the summer, at least how WWE advertises it, Summerslam was first aired in 1988; and over the years we have seen many remarkable matches taken place. Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk, Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin vs. Mankind vs. Triple H; and Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon. All of these matches have something special about them, this summer WWE are planning potentially a classic match up, in a certain WWE superstar's Career.   The Chance Of A lifetime The Superstar I'm talking about is none other than the current World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger. WWE is currently planning a ...

The Greatest Debuts in Wrestling

Posted by Sumz On May - 14 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Over the many years we have witnessed some great and some not so great WWE debuts such as the debut of The Big show to the debut of Primo. When people read this they must not get confused wit the Recent Debuts of Scott Steiner and Flair, as they already wrestled for the company before. So you have to compare those debuts all those years back to these debuts listed. If I have left anyone out, feel free to comment.Begin Slideshow
Indications from the Internet community suggest that few people enjoyed the segment and even fewer would actually admit it. Personally, I thought it was creepy, although I did find some potential among the dim lights and excessive innuendos. The first installment of the O-Zone wasn’t great, by any means, but with the right direction and a refined character, Orlando Jordan and his new interview segment could push TNA to new heights. As he proclaimed last night, Jordan truly is TNA’s “Wild Card.” There have been many successful interview segments in the past, Piper’s Pit, The Flower Shop, and The Brother Love Show all introduced ...

WWE: The Sinking Career of MVP

Posted by Eddie Burke On May - 14 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
When MVP first arrived in the WWE in 2006, he was the flashy, arrogant, coward who people wandered how he managed to end up in the WWE. Without even wrestling people showed there dislike towards him. At that time on Smackdown, there were a lot of people who were signed by the WWE who were predicted to be released in the next couple of months (Tatanka, Gymini, Vito) and MVP was put into that pile. At No Mercy, MVP would make his debut against a jobber known as Marty Garner. People clearly did not see anything special in MVP and considered him ...
