While we won't actually see it until July 29, there's a new Global Champion in the house.
And he's phenomenal.
At tonight's TNA taping, A.J. Styles defeated Rob Terry to capture the Global Title. This is technically Styles' second reign with the belt, if you count his reign back when the McDonald's happy meal toy was known as the Legends title.
This is also technically the first time that the belt has changed hands on either TV or PPV. Eric Young captured the belt from Big Sexy Kevin Nash at last year's Bound for Glory, back when it was known as the Legends title.
The Global title's only switch thus far has happened at a house show in Cardiff, Wales back on Jan. 27.
