Despite having Nexus member John Cena in his corner, Wade Barrett was unsuccessful in winning the WWE Championship from Randy Orton at Bragging Rights on Sunday. Barrett, technically, won the match, but did it via disqualification. Therefore, the championship was unable to change hands.
When Barrett spoke to Cena prior to the match, I was shocked. He stated that if he did not win, John Cena would be fired. Would Barrett have to win the WWE Championship? There was no way that they could legitimately get rid of John Cena without going back on their word and making the storyline lame.
