Triple H’s New Buddy Sheamus and Booking Decisions: Time to Play

Posted by Voodoo Magic On November - 30 - 2009
As reported by Wrestlezone.com:   “As far as Sheamus and Drew McIntyre are concerned, they are getting their respective pushes right now because Sheamus is the workout partner of Triple H...”   So…the truth comes out.   Ever since Sheamus won the Breakthrough Battle Royal, there has been massive speculation (here on B/R and elsewhere) as to how he managed to get the call-up to the main event scene faster than many other big, scary hoss types who have dominated the WWE in recent years.   The answer, it would seem, was obvious: he’s buddies with Triple H.   Now, does this mean that Stephen Farrelly is not worthy of ...

CM Punk’s Cult-Like Crusade

Posted by Jeremiah Graves On November - 30 - 2009
CM Punk is NOT wasting away.   Despite what many fans and critics have said lately—myself included—the WWE appears to know exactly what they’re doing with CM Punk.   In my Survivor Series recap, I stated that I felt his talent was being wasted in subpar midcard feuds with the likes of R-Truth and referees.   I’ve since been involved in many conversations regarding Punk’s future direction, and I’ve found myself repeating the same dream scenario for Punk.   I want Punk to become a cult leader.   His recent ranting and raving on Smackdown has him coming off as preacher of sorts and, logically, the next step should be to acquire ...

What Ever Happened to Brand Separation?

Posted by Quinn Gammon On November - 30 - 2009
After careful review of my last article, I seem to have found a pattern in my writing. I write, and you answer. It's a beautiful relationship that I'm grateful to have, especially as a writer who was overlooked not once, but twice, by WrestleZone.com's writing staff. But enough about that! Before I get to the topic of today's article, I feel like acknowledging the feedback from my previous piece. All of you devoted readers were much more generous with your feedback in regards to my second bit of writing. I'm going to be posting my responses to that feedback elsewhere, but I mustn't ...

Notes from the Lost Dossier: A Great Escape or Pushed Too Far Too Fast?

Posted by Sulayman H. On November - 30 - 2009
“There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction" -Winston Churchill   It’s the same old situation and a different complaint each day, they call out in hopes that their prayers are answered and they are delivered exactly what they want. It doesn’t work that way; it never has. It’s always for the greater good, but who knows or dares to dream of what is to come? Nothing works out the way we want it to but it’s no use crying over spilled milk. Instead, I’ll look forward to what comes tomorrow be it excitement ...

Is the Rock vs. John Cena at Wrestlemania 26 a Done Deal?

Posted by Joe Burgett On November - 30 - 2009
With all the news that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is wanting to do something special in the WWE, some speculated that he was bringing a new show to the table. While that appears to still be rumored, another big rumor has come out recently. John Cena has been kind of on Johnson's case for a while. When he was promoting the WWE and 12 Rounds , he took a few shots at Johnson. He claimed that he left the wrestling fans after saying he loved them and the business. He has said for about a year now that he would love to ...
Monday Night Raw opens to a standing ovation as the people in Baltimore, Maryland await the introduction to the night's live event. While it seems as though everyone in the arena is excited for the upcoming program, their dwells one man backstage who appears to be less than enthusiastic. A video is played on the titantron to recap the events of the previous week's program which is then followed by an elaborate display of fireworks that works the crowd into frenzy. Much to the disappointment of the thousands in attendance, the program begins (much as it did last week) with the sound of ...

CHIKARA: Wrestling Booked Better than the Rest

Posted by Steven Ransiear On November - 30 - 2009
CHIKARA is not for everyone. It took me quite a while for them to grow on me. However, over time, its crazy cast of characters have become a much welcomed addition to my wrestling watching. If you aren't familiar with CHIKARA, picture a comic book-meets-wrestling mash up. The best part of CHIKARA is that everyone on the roster has an interesting gimmick. Some fall flat but that happens with every company. For the most part, everyone on the roster has some connection with the fans. You have everything from typical luchadores to the absurd and wacky. With the massive cliffhanger from the last CHIKARA show ...

Hey, What Happened To That Guy? Looking Ahead To The Royal Rumble

Posted by Quinn Gammon On November - 28 - 2009
WARNING: The following article contains ranting, opinionated comments, and a lot of "writer's thoughts," contained (in parenthesis). Beware of ranting. You have been warned.   After the pleasant reception of my first article, I'm more than happy to come back and write another one. I feel like this time around, I need to focus more on the topic of my article and less on venting my frustrations, which was primarily what my first piece was about. As you can see by the picture I uploaded, my thoughts have turned to people like Carlito. Just to give you, my faithful readers, an idea of ...

The WWE Royal Rumble 2010: Who Will Win? Guess Who Style

Posted by Jev On November - 28 - 2009
The road to WrestleMania is slowly working it's way round again, with the start barely over the horizon in the form of the Royal Rumble. Soon enough, the big question will be at the forefront of everyone's mind again; who is going to win? The Rumble may seem a little too distant to start contemplating such matters, but as current efforts seem solely focussed on deciphering the turbulent world title scene and other goings-on across the world of the WWE, I thought I would give some direction to the chaos by offering up some candidates to take the Royal Rumble crown. I thought ...
