WWE: 5 Contenders for the U.S. Heavyweight Title

Posted by David Levin On January - 28 - 2012
Now that Jack Swagger has the United States Heavyweight Title and does not have to worry about the possibility of having to face Zack Ryder in a rematch anytime soon, it's time to start finding contenders to face him for the second-most prestigious title on Raw.The title list is odd because there's so much cross-over talent and matches on both Raw and Smackdown. Deciding who gets a title shot and who doesn't really is a matter of creative trying to decide what's best for both brands and of course, ratings.Swagger is a former World Champion on Smackdown and one of the ...

I don't think I will happen so I see no need to include it.**Begin Slideshow

The 2012 Royal Rumble event is shaping up to be a show full of surprises from wrestling's past and present. In F4WOnline.com's Saturday update, Dave Meltzer published the following:"Some Royal Rumble notes. Jim Duggan is pretty much confirmed for the show.  He had indie bookings this weekend that he had to cancel at the last minute.  Others expected are Road Warrior Animal (which makes sense since his son plays for the St. Louis Rams) and Road Dogg.  Other notes include Brodus Clay getting his full ring entrance at the Rumble, and they are back on the ...

WWE: The Top 10 Greatest WWE Tag Teams from the Past 25 Years

Posted by Richard Boudreau On January - 28 - 2012
In the last few years, the WWE has shifted focus from tag-team division and have made it a “passing fancy” for most wrestling fans.  This is opposed to the 1980's and 1990's, when some main events were in fact tag-team matches.  Some of the greatest WWE superstars in history started out in tag-team wrestling, and without it may not have been discovered by their abilities alone.  In the past 25 years , there have been hundreds of tag teams that have come and gone, but very few have made their mark.  However, many tag teams were extremely successful and the ...
While Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit won from the No. 1 draw in past Royal Rumble matches, the Miz will have a large hill to climb tomorrow night to match their legendary feats in the history of the Rumble. In the Miz’s first four appearances in the Royal Rumble, the longest amount of time in the match was 13 minutes and seven seconds in the 2008 Rumble while his other entries lasted one minute and 17 seconds in 2009, 17 seconds in 2010 and a minuscule seven seconds in 2007. Without a doubt, the 13-plus minutes the Miz spent in ...

WWE News: The Miz Says He’d Like to Face LeBron James at WrestleMania XXVIII

Posted by Sharon Glencross On January - 28 - 2012
In an interesting interview with British newspaper Metro, current WWE star The Miz went on record about a wide variety of subjects, most notably his fierce desire to face NBA star LeBron James at this year's WrestleMania 28 event in Miami, Florida. The Miz was speaking to the newspaper to promote this weekend's Royal Rumble pay-per-view when the dicussion inevitably turned to this year's WrestleMania event.  Miz, who largely stayed in character for the duration of the article, was asked by the paper who his ideal opponent, dead or alive, for the event would be. Miz insisted he would like to face current James, with the Cleveland native citing the star's "betrayal" when he left ...
Daniel Bryan's brief run as a World Heavyweight Champion face failed miserably. So a quick heel turn was necessary and should be fully completed by the end of his Royal Rumble match with Big Show and Mark Henry. The WWE Universe has been pushing for Bryan to get a chance on the main-event stage for quite some time. He didn't live up to the hype, however, which has forced the company to reverse course, and it has worked out well so far. Instead of pulling the plug on Bryan's title reign right away, which has seemingly been done with Zack ...

WWE: Latest on Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak Ending

Posted by Pavitar Sidhu On January - 28 - 2012
As it currently stands, I highly doubt the Undertaker's streak will come to an end. If it did, Undertaker would have to be in agreement, as many fans are not aware just how much backstage stroke the Phenom really has. He's on the same level as Triple H, but obviously he has never abused it by burying upcoming talent. If you haven't already read, The Wrestling Cafe discusses the latest on ending Undertaker's WrestleMania streak ending. In a way, if a wrestler were to end the Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania streak, it might actually do permanent irreversible damage to the wrestler's character, and he ...
