Pro Wrestling’s New Years Resolutions for 2011

Posted by Rachel Miller On December - 31 - 2010
The year 2011 officially begins on Saturday and I'm very excited about what's in store for the new year. This past year, we saw the WWE debuts of The Nexus, Alberto Del Rio and Daniel Bryan; new WWE PPV's like Elimination Chamber, Over The Limit, Fatal 4 Way and Money In The Bank, and the changing of the guard in TNA with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. And so without further adu, here are my predictions on what will happen in 2011.Begin Slideshow
Fans rave about Alberto Del Rio. The former MMA Fighter has certainly proved himself as an staple on the Smackdown! brand. A World Title run is indeed in Del Rio's future. You should also know that Mysterio isn't happy with WWE nowadays.  That's why Del Rio was brought in—For the Mexican audience if Rey ever decided to up and leave the WWE. While both are great in their own way, one luchadore is equally, if not better, than both men. Mexican sensation Mistico has been in talks with the WWE. If you don't know who Mistico is let me give a quick history lesson. ...

I’m Just Sayin’: A Dissenting View on the Cancellation of TNA ReAction

Posted by Mr. Ashley Morris On December - 31 - 2010
It wasn't until December 30th, 2010 that a Bleacher Report article appeared concerning the "cancellation" of TNA's critically acclaimed show, ReAction.  For the most part, this news remained buried under numerous articles and pretty much stayed off of our collective pro wrestling radar. What could be said about the "cancellation?"  We did not cry, nor did we mourn the loss of TNA's hour long docu-drama series that was designed to further story lines from the company's flagship show Impact. Stuff happens, right? Wrong; for a company that has very little exposure as is, the "cancellation" of ReAction is a HUGE loss for TNA, especially ...

Dana White Kills Rumors of Brock Lesnar’s WWE Return

Posted by George Rader On December - 31 - 2010
Hey bleachers, just some quick updates on the WWE-Brock Lesnar situation. When he was asked if the rumors about Brock Lesnar leaving UFC for WWE he had this to say: “Not going to happen. He can’t leave the UFC. He’s under contract.” White goes on to ask the following regarding Lesnar at WrestleMania: “Like row 3, seat 16? Row 3, seat 16 in aisle 2 sounds good to me.” Brock Lesnar currently has only one fight left under his current UFC deal but you can bet that they won't have that fight until after Wrestlemania, so at this point in time ...

CZW Wrestler Nick Gage Allegedly Robs Bank

Posted by Jacob Waring On December - 31 - 2010
Nick Cage of Combat Zone Wrestling is wanted for robbing a bank in the town of Collingswood, N.J. on Wednesday afternoon, December 22. Cage was threatening to shoot a bank teller if she did not give him the cash. The amount he got away with is $3,000. Obviously, this is a very serious crime and the outlook does not look good for the man. Life as a pro wrestler can be very tough, but I think it should never have gotten to the point where the man would have to resort to what appears to be armed robbery. This is ...
The WWE has a very impressive FCW wrestler in the minors, and his name is not Seth Rollins (though he is great too). Reigning FCW Florida Heavyweight Champion Mason Ryan, who worked SmackDown! live events this week, is expected to be called up to the main WWE roster and receive a large push from the onset. Organization officials reportedly want to utilize the Welsh grappler similarly to former WWE champion Batista. He notably bears a striking resemblance to “The Animal.” If this report is true, then expect big things from Ryan. The guy could have ...
What better way to say goodbye to the year 2010 than to count down the 10 biggest stories of the year in professional wrestling?  This 10-part series is designed to do exactly that, and each installment will be dedicated to the stories that fueled the very Internet fodder that makes the dirt-sheet media world go round.   No. 4.  Jeff Hardy Indicted on Drug Charges Shortly after making his shocking debut with TNA Wrestling, after reportedly giving WWE a verbal commitment of returning to the Fed, Jeff Hardy ...
Heya Bleachers, hope you are having a great New Year's Eve! Here is the latest news in the WWE before we hit the New Year: WWE announced on their official website Wednesday that John Cena is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis after suffering a hip injury at a RAW live event Tuesday night in Wilkes-Barre, PA. In an update on the matter, he is not expected to be sidelined for a lengthy period of time, though he won’t be wrestling much over the next few weeks. This means that the Nexus-Cena feud could continue with some minor feud going ...

WWE Royal Rumble Match 2011 Entrances

Posted by Kawajai On December - 31 - 2010
I'm going to take a different approach on predictions, and have you, the Bleacher Report Community, pick who wins the Royal Rumble Match. The thing is, I will be making the entrances, and you've got to pick EACH elimination. The rules are as followed:1. You need to list each elimination.2. Eliminations need to translate with the numbers people draw. (Example: No. 30 cannot be eliminated first)3. List who was eliminated by who.4. HAVE FUN!Begin Slideshow

TNA: No Impact Show on UK TV, WWE Involved?

Posted by David Whitehead On December - 31 - 2010
This is an article aimed at UK wrestling fans, but please feel free to read and comment on it even if you're in the USA, though it might not make a whole lot of sense. Here's a heads up for TNA fans in the UK. Currently, TNA Impact is shown on Bravo at 9 P.M. on Saturday nights and again on Bravo 2 on Sundays at 9 P.M. To remind anyone who didn't hear the news, here's what is said under Bravo's Wikipedia article: "On 15 September 2010, BSkyB announced that it will close Bravo as well as sister channels Bravo 2 and Channel One. The ...
