Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins fame has launched his own wrestling promotion, Resistance Pro. While the frontman may not be an atypical representative of the wrestling world, he's actually a big fan. Corgan will work behind the scenes and act as a lightning rod for publicity.  He seems to at least marginally know what he's doing as he's hired some quality talent. Colt Cabana, Harry Smith (David Hart Smith), the Briscoe Brothers, El Generico and death match veteran Necro Butcher have all been signed to Resistance Pro. Resistance Pro helped get their name out by attending the Wizard World Comic Con ...

Posted by Kevin Berge On October - 15 - 2011
Sunday, October 16, 2011 could be the biggest night in TNA history. With huge matches left and right, Impact Wrestling cannot mess this night up.If it all goes down the right way, this could be a moment that all pro wrestling fans will remember. Many people say that Impact Wrestling has nothing on WWE, and I agree for now. However, if they have a phenomenal pay-per-view at Bound for Glory, we could see the power balance begin to tip, especially with the massive heat turning against WWE as of late. Now let's look at the top five matches at the PPV.Begin Slideshow

Trish Stratus. Lita. Victoria. Mickie James. Sable. Michelle McCool. These women are among the most memorable and beloved women in the history of sports-entertainment. For Women's Champions, they dominated the Divas division in World Wrestling Entertainment during their time with the company. They are highly-decorated women, having held the championships of their division on multiple occasions. For every WWE Diva to capture gold, however, there are dozens of others who were never given the opportunity to wear a championship. Some of those women were Diva Search failures who stayed long enough to have their names spoken by a WWE announcer, then were ...

While TNA is gearing up for their biggest pay-per-view of the year this weekend—Bound for Glory—both the company and the network that airs their flagship television show made moves this week that could have an Impact (no pun intended) on the company down the line.On Tuesday, Spike announced that Jon Slusser has been named to the newly created position of senior vice president, sports and multi-platform programming for the network.  The move resulted in the dismissal of Brian Diamond, Spike's former Senior VP of Sports and Special Programming.Diamond had been one of TNA's biggest supporters at the network. In a press release, ...

WWE Brock Lesnar/Steve Austin Controversy: Pre-Planned or Pointless?

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Doctor On October - 15 - 2011
For the past week, Brock Lesnar and Steve Austin have been trading comments back and forth. It all started when Brock was giving an interview to help promote his appearance in the WWE '12 video game. The interviewer asked him who he would return to face if it could be anybody. Here is how Brock responded. There's a guy that's been on a winning streak for a long time that somebody needs to step up to the plate and finish the winning streak. But then there's another side of me that says if there was a chance for me to ...

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Doctor On October - 15 - 2011
Triple H has dabbled in acting, but he is no way a critical or box office success. In fact, his best role to date may still be his small part in Blade 3 as a vampire. Rumors were heavy during pre-production for Thor that Triple H was being considered to be the leader of Asgard. Chris Hemsworth was instead cast and the movie portrayed a young Thor finding his place in the kingdom. Triple H was said by the director to have been high on a very short list of those who could play the Mjolnir-wielding superhero. Thor is set ...

WWE: Was the Sin Cara vs Sin Cara Feud Given Enough Background?

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Doctor On October - 15 - 2011
Last night we saw yet another in a long line of Sin Cara attacking Sin Cara moments. At this point the two masked men have separated their identities by using color, but last night Sin Cara Negro took the mask from Sin Cara Azul. These two have been going back and forth, but very little has been said on screen about the feud. They will throw tidbits about the history between the two in Mexico, but with neither man getting much promo time this feud seems more confusing than entertaining. For weeks people were not sure which Sin Cara to ...
