WWE NXT Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from September 30

Posted by Erik Beaston On September - 30 - 2015
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic continued Wednesday night with a huge main event pitting Samoa Joe and NXT champion Finn Balor against Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, and now you can find out how it graded with all of the results and analysis from the September 30 WWE Network broadcast of NXT. Both teams were jockeying for the opportunity to advance in the tournament, but it was Balor and Joe who emerged victoriously. Tag team action was not only relegated to the men, as Dana Brooke and Emma built upon last week's humiliation of newcomer Asuka by defeating the upstart tandem ...

WWE Live from MSG 2015: Date, Start Time, Matches, Live Stream, PPV Info

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On September - 30 - 2015
Brock Lesnar's return to Madison Square Garden has transformed a non-televised live event into essentially an extra pay-per-view on the WWE calendar. Lesnar's Go to Hell Tour kicks off with a live special at New York's famed arena on Saturday Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. ET. Months ago, this was a house show, but WWE has pumped it full of stars, title bouts and The Beast Incarnate himself.  The last time Lesnar wrestled at MSG, he and Goldberg were both on their way out of the company. At WrestleMania XX, fans ushered the stars out with boos. Fast forward 11 years and Lesnar has become ...

Cody Rhodes, Tanner Saraceno and the Latest WWE NXT Developmental News

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On September - 30 - 2015
Cody Rhodes will strip off the Stardust character for the WWE NXT audience. Tanner Saraceno will be taking off his wrestling boots for the time being. Rhodes informed fans that he is headed to NXT TakeOver sans Stardust. It will mark the first look we get at the second-generation star without his vinyl getup and face paint in a long while. As for Saraceno, who nearly made it to the finals of WWE Tough Enough, his pro wrestling journey is taking a hiatus. The WWE developmental brand is set to feature a number of new faces, even without Saraceno continuing with the company. ...

John Cena’s Best Options for United States Championship Open Challenges

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On September - 30 - 2015
John Cena is going to run out of challengers for his United States Championship unless WWE plucks talent from its past, from NXT and from the end of its bench. One of the keys to his open challenges has been the surprise factor. A new unexpected championship-hungry contender stomps down the entrance ramp each week. That's hard to continue as the list of failed challengers grows, but it's certainly not impossible. Wrestlers with strong connections to the crowd are still available to take Cena's next challenge. Grapplers with history with the champ are out there, as well. And the lower rungs of WWE's roster ...
1. Hibernation for Big Show  The collision awaiting Big Show at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 3 is the perfect opportunity to recharge his career. Have Brock Lesnar throttle him to the point where he can't stand, where he disappears from WWE programming for months. The overexposed giant needs a break from TV. He needs to step away from the spotlight to be better appreciated. Big Show agrees that his distinctiveness is suffering. He told Digital Spy, "I think the uniqueness and the special things that I bring to WWE is sometimes a little bit downplayed because you see me every week."  WWE continues ...

WWE Hell in a Cell 2015: 10 Greatest Steel Cage Matches of All Time

Posted by Erik Beaston On September - 30 - 2015
It's that time of year, the time when WWE focuses its attention on ending some of its most heated rivalries inside the demonic structure known as Hell in a Cell. Since 1997, the enormous steel structure has been the battleground for some of the top stars and their most hated foes, leading to some extraordinary wars. Beginning with Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker and progressing over the 17 years that followed, The Cell has spelled the end for the most memorable feuds of all time. But how did Superstars settle their beefs prior to the incarnation of Satan's Playground? They did it inside a ...

Projecting Bray Wyatt’s Path to World Title Scene over Next 12 Months

Posted by Aaron Bower On September - 30 - 2015
Fantasy-booking a path for any Superstar toward the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is always tough, but Bray Wyatt somehow feels overdue for a run in the main event scene. He's proved himself to be one of the company's more entertaining, intriguing and, perhaps most importantly, unpredictable workers since joining the main roster a few years ago. He always feels like a much more credible and stronger force when he has his family alongside him, and the reuniting of The Wyatt Family a few months ago looks to have positioned him for a long-awaited tilt at WWE's big prize. It will be a while ...

Charlotte, Paige and the WWE Divas Power Rankings for Week of Sept. 30

Posted by Erik Beaston On September - 30 - 2015
In 2015, WWE has placed a greater emphasis on women's wrestling. After decades of ignoring the art form or focusing on it only for periods of time before growing bored and burying it again, Vince McMahon's company appears to be more interested in presenting it as more than just a bathroom break for the attention-challenged fanbase. Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bayley altered the perception that fans had of women in wrestling during their time in NXT, delivering numerous Match of the Year candidates while lending credibility and legitimacy to that brand's women's championship. Nikki Bella improved her in-ring work and held ...

The next live special, TakeOver: Respect, is scheduled for October 7. This means Wednesday's show is the last chance WWE has to sell us on the feuds that will make up next week's card. The best part about the upcoming event is that we will see the first Iron Woman match for the NXT Women's Championship. To make things even better, Bayley and Sasha Banks will be the first women to headline one of these ...

Examining the Parallels Between Donald Trump and Vince McMahon

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On September - 30 - 2015
With a brawny, shirtless gladiator guarding each of them, Donald Trump and Vince McMahon sat on opposite sides of a table set up in a WWE ring, two moguls with commanding personalities staring each other down. Despite the obvious differences in appearance between The Donald and The Chairman, it felt like each man was looking into a mirror. Trump's and McMahon's paths to their fortunes, their brashness and their frequent proximity to controversy are eerily alike. That's part of what made the match WWE dubbed "The Battle of Billionaires" at WrestleMania 23 so appealing. After years of watching McMahon play the unyielding corporate tyrant, fans now witnessed ...
