They say the greatest stories cannot be written, they must be lived. In the beginning, it was a dream that inspired two boys to dedicate themselves to becoming professional wrestlers. Then, as they grew into young men, they realized they were fully capable of achieving this dream through hours of training and hard work. Finally, they achieved that dream. They achieved greatness and changed what a WWE Superstar was supposed to be in the process. Their paths would cross each step of the way up the ladder, until finally, a once friendly rivalry became one of bitter hatred both on and off television.Welcome to Wrestling’s Greatest Rivalries. This ...
On the June 24 edition of Raw, Stephanie McMahon announced the seven participants for the WWE Championship Money in the Bank ladder match—CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Kane, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Christian and the returning Rob Van Dam. A couple of these participants come as a surprise, like Christian and Kane, but with this match listed as “Money in the Bank All-Stars,” their involvement makes sense. If you haven’t noticed, this is an all-babyface ladder match. With all of this star-power, it’s hard to pick a clear-cut winner. However, it’s easy to pick those who won’t win.Begin Slideshow

Dolph Ziggler Looks Out of Place as a Babyface in WWE

Posted by Tom Clark On June - 29 - 2013
Dolph Ziggler will face Alberto Del Rio at WWE’s upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view on Sunday, July 14 for the World Heavyweight Championship.  The former champ finds himself on the other side this time as he appears to be leaving his heel roots behind him while Del Rio is already no longer a babyface Superstar. And I for one think Ziggler looks very out of place in his new role. The biggest issue with this particular rivalry is that it did not start off this way.  As we all know, Dolph was the cocky, arrogant champion who was overly confident in ...
As the week reaches its end, WWE presents a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown. This week’s episode would feature a street fight, a big six-man tag team match, plenty of storyline development and another Fiesta Del Rio. As a pinata hung high above the ring with Dolph Ziggler’s face on it, the show kicked off with a street fight!   Sheamus vs. Damien Sandow: Dublin Street Fight Before the match, Damien Sandow gave fans a bit of a history lesson. South Carolina was the first state to secede from the union, which is something it should do today. Sandow ...

Airing on television in the United Kingdom and on Hulu Plus for fans in the United States, Superstars is a show of a few matches and a number of Raw recaps. Thankfully after it airs in the UK, the show pops up online! This week’s episode featured two matches and also showed a few Raw recaps and hype videos. The June 27 episode of WWE Superstars would open with one of those one-on-one matches.   The Miz vs. Wade Barrett ...
The unspoken rule of professional wrestling is simple—for every heel turn, there needs to be an opposite face turn to balance the universe. Now that I have explained physics, wrestling-style, let’s visit the subject as it relates to CM Punk and his “best friend,” Paul Heyman.Think of this as the $64,000 question the WWE needs to answer. It would appear Punk’s eventual turn (with the help of Curtis Axel) this week and “eventual” confrontation with Brock Lesnar should lead any one of us to ask the burning question, “Who takes Punk’s place in Heyman’s food chain?”I have been outspoken about the ...
The first half of the year has come to a close, as has fiscal year 2012.  WWE's landscape has suddenly changed with a new supporting cast for John Cena, who perennially carries the company. Some new WWE Superstars and some old have elevated their game throughout 2013, even threatening to surpass John Cena as the WWE's most valuable Superstar. WWE's business is on the precipice of heating up with its "fifth major" Money in the Bank pay-per-view leading into SummerSlam season.  Chances are, superstars on this list will figure to be booked at the top of these respective cards. Candidates will be full-time ...

5 WWE Superstars Who Deserved a Spot in a Money in the Bank Match

Posted by Seth M. Guttenplan On June - 28 - 2013
At Money in the Bank, two sets of seven WWE Superstars will compete for an opportunity at the fast track to world championship. However, those Superstars are just a small fraction of the WWE roster. There are Superstars on the roster whom no one would expect to see in a Money in the Bank match and don’t deserve the opportunity either. Heath Slater, JTG and Tons of Funk don’t belong in a Money in the Bank match. But what about Chris Jericho? Why is he facing Ryback at the pay-per-view rather than participating in the match he created? What about ...

WWE Money in the Bank 2013: Philadelphia Crowd Will Enhance the PPV

Posted by Seth M. Guttenplan On June - 28 - 2013
The WWE crowd has a tendency to make a good show a great or terrible one based on the reaction it delivers. At Money in the Bank 2013, the ladder matches and Rob Van Dam’s return will give the Philadelphia crowd a huge opportunity. An opportunity that will be exciting to watch. The two Money in the Bank ladder matches have been booked in a very interesting and unique way.On the June 24 edition of Raw, we learned that seven former world champions will compete for the WWE title Money in the Bank briefcase. Those Superstars—CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Kane, ...
