Ring of Honor Focus: Can the Kings of Wrestling Be Dethroned?

Posted by Ken Drabek On June - 30 - 2010
One look at the current state of tag team wrestling in the United States shows that it has mostly become a lost art. The two major promotions seem to view tag teams as nothing more than a way to fill time and have spent little effort over the past few years to inject any real excitement into their tag team ranks. As we approach the mid-point of 2010, it seems the big two are finally starting to show a little more interest in tag teams but they both have a long way to go before the prestige returns to their respective championships. Thankfully, for fans ...
Well it has happened again. The Rookies have had their own way with showing up on RAW and pummeling everyone. Most recent was when Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and five of Hall of Famers came out to congratulate Ricky on his DVD that are to be released soon. The Rookies came out and you could tell they were looking for trouble and they found it. Earlier Monday evening when John Cena and Shameus were talking about his championship title, Shameus wanted no part of it. Cena wanted himself and the champ to call out the Rookies and take care of them their way. Before anyone ...

The Beautiful People Breaking Up? That Would Really Suck!

Posted by The T.I. Fan On June - 30 - 2010
What's up, Bleaches? Time is of the essence, so let's bleach it! The Beautiful People have been cleansing TNA of ugliness for over two years now. But it seems like the recent reign of the group over all the other TNA Knockouts is finally coming to an end. There has been a lot of bickering and animosity going around in the stable, especially between the front runners of the group, Velvet Sky and Madison. It showed during last week's episode of TNA Impact, when Rayne and Sky were backstage and Rayne was looking at her new hairstyle (a crappy hairstyle) in the mirror ...

Posted by Sumz On June - 30 - 2010
The following is a list of Wrestling Tag Teams ranging from A-Z, who i feel best represented there letter as the greatest tag team of all time. While there are perhaps dozens of other Tag teams that could of filled the spots of the specified letters, I decided to put my own personal touch to it and give my opinion in to who I feel is the greatest. As there are a lot of slides to get through, I wont divulge on details but merely give out interesting facts about each of the following tag teams. Here is part 1 of the series ...

Bryan Danielson Finally Blogs About WWE Release, Is He TNA Bound?

Posted by Joe Burgett On June - 30 - 2010
Recently released WWE Superstar Bryan Danielson has been quiet about the separation between he and World Wrestling Entertainment for some time now. For weeks we wanted his take on it all, and Danielson didn't let us down. He has finally spoken. So lets not wait, here is Danielson's recent blog on his WWE release: "WWE has come to terms on the release of NXT first season rookie Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson ) as of today June 11, 2010. We wish Daniel Bryan the best in all future endeavors." Posted by WWE .com ...
According to wrestleview.com, CM Punk had surgery Tuesday on his arm and will be out of action for six to eight weeks. Punk did appear on the SmackDown tv tapings Tuesday but he was in an arm sling. The injury is huge to the WWE landscape because Punk was one of the top heels on SmackDown and his injury will be a huge blow weekly because he is solid in the ring and always has stellar matches. The injury does however give WWE an opportunity to not only push Punk's mic skills even more each week, but it could ...

WWE NXT: An Idea Whose Time Has Gone?

Posted by Paul Austin On June - 30 - 2010
I have to confess, I was never happy with the concept of NXT, a faux-reality show that would take a sizable chunk of the WWE development roster to pit them against each other and give them a planned 17 weeks to compete in silly challenges in order to win an already booked bout at a PPV. The original concept was to produce three series a year of 17 episodes. Not only did I question the concept, but also as to whether they could produce 24 wrestlers a year worthy of high-profile television exposure. As the "Nexus" attempt to convince us that they ...

Tale of the Tape: TNA’s Fortune vs. WWE’s Nexus

Posted by John Reid On June - 30 - 2010
Welcome to Tale of the Tape, a feature in which we compare the best of TNA against the best of the WWE.  In the past few weeks, both promotions have begun to feature the emergence of two stables that feature young, up-and-coming talent, with designs on taking over. The WWE's main eventers have come under attack by the former NXT rookies, now calling themselves the Nexus.  Meanwhile in TNA, former World Champion Ric Flair has began designs on forming his own group, called Fortune.  Let's take a look at how both of these stables match up to one another and their potential for ...

Justin Gabriel Heading For a Face Turn and a Feud Against The Nexus?

Posted by Chris O Connall On June - 30 - 2010
As many of you now, Daniel Bryan has been off TV for some time as he was released over the infamous NXT invasion, which saw Bryan spit in Cena's face and choke Justin Roberts. One of these things, or a combination of both, ultimately lead to his release. As many of you know, Bryan was guaranteed a spot on the main roster. This indicates that he would have turned on The Nexus and fought as a baby-face for the WWE superstars. With Bryan gone, WWE is presumably looking for a replacement. Enter Justin Gabriel. I noticed something on last week's Raw, but it ...

Spoilers: Smackdown MITB Participants Announced

Posted by Ian Malone On June - 29 - 2010
As most of you probably know, Smackdown is filmed on Tuesdays, along with NXT. The spoilers are out and six MITB participants have been announced for the PPV.  DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED The six wrestlers announced are Big Show, Kane, Matt Hardy, Christian, Kofi Kingston, and Cody Rhodes.  The Raw MITB match has eight participants. The PPV is a few weeks away so it is conceivable that WWE is holding out the other two slots for a little while.  Drew McIntyre is currently out of the country due to an expired work visa. I think we can ...
