WWE Night of Champions 2013: Matches That Would Make PPV a Must-See

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On August - 31 - 2013
Night of Champions is just two weeks away, and WWE only has three schedules matches so far. They need some matches that will sell this pay-per-view, and they need them fast. Several feuds are obviously heading toward showdowns, but it is how the matches are booked that matters. Stipulations can freshen up a feud that is already a few matches into its life, and everyone loves a good Hell in a Cell match. Night of Champions is the night when every title in WWE is on the line, but that is only six matches. That leaves between one and three matches open ...

WWE Week in Review, Aug. 31: Randy Orton Dominates, AJ Lee Shocks the World

Posted by Graham GSM Matthews On August - 31 - 2013
As the hot summer season comes to a close, we look back on the strong streak of terrific television WWE has provided us with in recent months. More specifically, we look back on the action-packed week we're just now coming off of, which was filled with excellent matches and unlikely alliances. Randy Orton took full control of Raw and SmackDown this week, laying waste to archenemy Daniel Bryan on both programs. With The Shield by his side, is there anything that will stop the so-called face of the WWE from getting his way? The raging rivalry between CM Punk and Paul Heyman ...

Report: Daniel Bryan’s Feud with Randy Orton to End Sooner Than Expected?

Posted by Daniel Van Boom On August - 31 - 2013
The McMahon’s family feud transformed from a contrived wrestling angle into an immersive storyline at SummerSlam. Daniel Bryan’s feud with Randy Orton and Triple H has been the highlight of the program, but a recent report from F4Wonline (via wrestlinginc.com) states that it could be ending as soon as October. The report notes that Kane will likely face Bray Wyatt at Hell in a Cell and goes on to say: Another match scheduled for Hell in a Cell is Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton. As of this week, the Bryan vs. Orton feud was scheduled to run through Night of Champions, Battleground and ...

WWE Night of Champions 2013: Power Ranking Every WWE Championship

Posted by Big Nasty On August - 31 - 2013
'Tis the season to rank every WWE championship ahead of WWE Night of Champions.  It's the one night of the year where WWE pretends to care about all of its brass rings equally, but the booking will show which championships are truly held in high regard.  Much has changed since the last time this was done and surprises could be in store.  Championships will be ranked based on frequency of pay-per-view title defenses and relevancy to current angles.  The top title should in the WWE is academic.  The rest are nothing short of a crapshoot.   Begin Slideshow

Power Ranking Every PPV of 2013 After SummerSlam

Posted by Big Nasty On August - 31 - 2013
WWE's WrestleMania of the Summer has come and gone, meaning five pay-per-views will round out 2013 before the real WrestleMania season begins.  WWE's offerings may leave much to be desired. The new Battleground pay-per-view means two pay-per-views in the month of October.  This is a recipe for disaster given the limited build, and 2013 could be the first and last year for the one remaining pay-per-view event currently without a gimmick.  Pay-per-views will be ranked based on location, historical significance, past performance and how well the respective theme fits with ongoing feuds.  So many gimmicks, so little time.  Is it WrestleMania season yet?Begin ...

Complete Report Card and Predictions Following WWE SmackDown for August 30

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On August - 31 - 2013
Every week here on Bleacher Report, I will take an in-depth look at SmackDown, recapping all of the action, offering analysis and grading the matches, segments and anything else that takes place on the show, as well as provide some predictions on the direction of storylines. This week's show featured more of Triple H, Randy Orton and The Shield making Daniel Bryan's life a living hell, but there was more to it than just beating on Bryan. Miz and Dolph Ziggler were placed in matches after speaking out about what they saw on Raw, and Triple H forced Big Show to watch at ringside ...
Extending WWE's flagship show by an hour was a move that brought a shower of criticism. Monday Night Raw went from two hours to three last July. One would think that giving WWE fans more of their favorite show would be welcomed and applauded. Instead, the company heard claims that its third hour was light on substance, that it only managed to highlight the mismanagement of the roster and that it was just too tough to make that long of a show entertaining each week. WWE audiences are some of the most critical and vocal fans around, so some of the criticism was ...

Breaking Down the Best and Worst of the WWE for Week of Aug. 26

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On August - 30 - 2013
WWE is on the verge of something great. When a match as electric as Orton and Christian's and a promo as powerful as AJ Lee's is overshadowed, you know the company is loading something outstanding into the cannon. There's plenty of praise to pass around this week to Triple H, Paul Heyman and the Divas champ. Only the continued misuse of an awesome talent and a strange decision regarding the Night of Champions card take away from an entertaining week. Insults, intimidation and intensity mark the best and worst of the WWE week.Begin Slideshow

Bray Wyatt Needs Better TV Booking To Get The Most From Character

Posted by Justin LaBar On August - 30 - 2013
Excellence is an expectation that must be the goal for some of the best characters in WWE in a long time―Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family.Characters that have less range or natural talent are the ones I think should be managed and given to the audience in the right dose. If a guy has one catchphrase getting him over, don't let it get used too much, too fast. A fine line has to be walked with taking advantage of something that is working and not overkilling it. If a gimmick is a parody or spin-off of something popular with the ...
