Be a Star Ambassadors The Jan. 25 episode of the underrated Total Divas was a poignant example of the trauma young women today face regarding body issues. Upon seeing her face on the side of a WWE production truck, Eva Marie remarked to Cameron that she thought it was ugly. At first, Cameron brushed it off as diva behavior. However, as the episode progressed, Cameron realized her friend’s self-image was a deeply rooted and ongoing issue. On a shopping excursion, Cameron found Eva Marie collapsed in a changing room due to the effects of starving herself. Fortunately, Cameron was aware of a therapy ...

WWE Superstar of the Week for January 31

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On January - 31 - 2015
It's been a crazy time in WWE. First, there was the controversial Royal Rumble finish and then the online backlash with the hashtag #CancelWWENetwork trending worldwide. Then WWE had to deal with a brutal winter storm in the Northeast that forced it to cancel the live Raw show and move it to WWE Headquarters, as well as move the SmackDown taping to Thursday and broadcast the show live. Oh yeah, there was also the announcement that the WWE Network had reached the one-million-subscribers milestone, which seems to indicate that all the online hating only led to more people signing up to see what the hubbub ...

WWE Missed Opportunities: Fans May Never See Sting Face Undertaker

Posted by Travis Wakeman On January - 31 - 2015
Is there a bigger dream match in professional wrestling than Sting versus The Undertaker? It has been talked about by fans for years, dating back to when Sting was at the top of WCW and Undertaker had done nearly all there was to do in WWE. While Undertaker has faced just about every big name in the history of the business, a match with Sting has never taken place. That is mostly due to Sting's decision not to compete in WWE for the majority of his career. But that has finally changed. Sting made his WWE debut at Survivor Series last November, a ...

WWE Programming’s Best Match for Week of January 24

Posted by Brad Jones On January - 31 - 2015
While the outcome of Royal Rumble may have been disappointing, it's been a pretty good week for WWE in terms of in-ring competition. It's a continuation of a well-established trend—talent has the chops to put on a good match, but the surrounding storylines just don't hold up. It's a shame to see such a strong roster go to waste. There are technically gifted wrestlers excelling from the bottom of the card to the top; it's just a shame that the only ones being supported by engrossing storylines are still in developmental.   Honourable Mentions Daniel Bryan and Kane had an enjoyable Casket Match on ...

Paul Heyman Needs to Turn on Brock Lesnar and Manage Roman Reigns

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On January - 30 - 2015
The main event for WrestleMania 31 will see Brock Lesnar defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the man who won this year's Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns. Needless to say, this decision has fans split. Some think Reigns is too green, can't talk well enough on his own and doesn't have the charisma to be the top dog in WWE. At least not yet. The other side of that argument is that WWE is finally taking steps to build new top stars after years of the same few names taking every available main event on every pay-per-view. It seems inevitable that Reigns will ...

Kane Is an Underrated Asset for WWE in the Twilight of His Career

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On January - 30 - 2015
As Kane's career winds down, the WWE fan's natural tendency is to take him for granted. After all, there are fresher faces charging up the ranks. Other stars have flashier moves, younger legs and a future lined with promise. As Kane proved again Thursday night, though, he's an invaluable piece of the WWE puzzle. He's a steady hand, a go-to veteran and, at this point, a wrestler used to elevate others. Fans saw that all on display in an entertaining Casket match against Daniel Bryan. Going with Bryan vs. Kane yet again was far from a thrilling choice. Not only have we seen ...

Breaking Down the Best and Worst of the WWE for Week of January 26

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On January - 30 - 2015
When a snowstorm wasn't getting in the way or when officials weren't again discounting how nuts fans are over Daniel Bryan, WWE delivered tremendous entertainment at the Royal Rumble and beyond. That pay-per-view's best match and an early Match of the Year candidate saw Seth Rollins rise, John Cena battle hard and Brock Lesnar exude beastliness. The Triple Threat for the WWE title was the clear highlight of a week light on wrestling. WWE did thrill fans with action outside of the ring, though. The art of the staredown was twice on display. And the company's production team crafted a masterwork. Is that ...

Pros and Cons of Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns Main Eventing WrestleMania 31

Posted by Sebastian Maldonado On January - 30 - 2015
WrestleMania 31 is set with its main event: Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns. Lesnar successfully defended the WWE world heavyweight title at the 2015 Royal Rumble event. The Beast Incarnate overcame the threats of John Cena and Seth Rollins in an exciting Triple Threat match. Now, he’ll rest and prepare for this year’s Royal Rumble winner. Reigns managed to outlast 29 other WWE Superstars to win the Royal Rumble. He spent nearly 30 minutes in the match, eliminating Big Show, Kane and Rusev last. Reigns will get his title shot at WrestleMania, where he must battle the former UFC fighter. It sounds like ...
