WWE Raw Results: Biggest Winners and Losers After Dec. 30

Posted by David Bixenspan On December - 31 - 2013
The New Year's edition of Monday Night Raw in Richmond, VA ended up as one of the more unique shows of 2013.  With a rare Monday house show in Toronto, a major market, closing out the lucrative post-Christmas tour, a lot of the top talent on the roster wasn't at TV.  John Cena, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, Big Show, Kane, Antonio Cesaro, Zeb Colter, Alberto Del Rio, Sin Cara, AJ Lee, Natalya and Ryback were all in Toronto and almost all of them have been on Raw weekly as of late. Not so surprisingly, with the roster split for the ...
When it comes to the Royal Rumble, you are normally guaranteed one thing—returning WWE Superstars. Whether it is a one-off appearance like The Godfather in 2013, or a permanent return such as Chris Jericho's last year, there are a variety of options available for the fans to dispute over in the buildup to the Royal Rumble. Some are hotly rumored to return, whilst some are far more obscure than the others. There is a whole host of reasoning behind the rumors, and some may well turn out to be nothing more than red herrings. So, lets take a look at the possibility of ...

Brock Lesnar, Damien Sandow: The Most Disappointing Wrestlers of 2013

Posted by Andy Soucek On December - 31 - 2013
In professional wrestling, character is always in flux.  Some people have good years, others have bad years, and a few have downright awful ones. Unfortunately, few people on the WWE roster this year seemed to gain much momentum. Sure, The Shield, Daniel Bryan and AJ Lee grew to new heights, but many others stagnated or were worse off by year's end. The wrestlers listed here had a promising 2012 and fell flat in 2013, or they just continued to have another uninspired year altogether. Some of the men and women here are long time main event acts, while others continued toiling away in ...

5 WWE Superstars Who Will Have a Massive 2014

Posted by Erik Beaston On December - 31 - 2013
The new year is upon us, and discussion will inevitably turn to the Superstars poised to excel in 2014. With a crop of hugely talented young Superstars, there will be one or two poised to breakout and become major players within World Wrestling Entertainment. Will it be a member of The Shield or the Wyatt Family? What about current Intercontinental champion Big E Langston? Perhaps a dark horse such as Fandango or Wade Barrett will surge into a high-profile spot on the card and have a massive year. Then there are the established Superstars whom everyone expects to have a great year. Those Superstars ...
Let it never be said that the WWE does not take chances. By announcing that the world title match in the upcoming Royal Rumble would feature the champion Randy Orton against resident savior John Cena, McMahon gave fans exactly the match that they were expecting, and one that we have all seen countless times before. And in doing this, the company is risking a lot by heavily featuring a match that has now become par for the course. And Cena, who seems to factor into every major storyline the company has produced in the last decade or so, is the weak link ...

TNA Old School 2013 Spoilers: Full Results and Reaction for Match Card

Posted by Chris Roling On December - 31 - 2013
TNA’s One Night Only pay-per-view series made its return with the 2013 edition of Old School on Dec. 30 at the historic Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. While only a pre-taped event that will be sold as a pay-per-view at a later date, there was a certain buzz around Old School before the show. After all, Magnus and Samoa Joe were the headliners in a TNA World Heavyweight Championship match, and ECW legend Tommy Dreamer made his return to face Bully Ray in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The reaction from fans in attendance speaks for itself: TNA gets a lot of criticism for ...

WWE Raw Results: Winners, Report Card and Highlights from Dec. 30

WWE ended 2013 with a bang. Not only did the final Raw of the year feature several legitimately good matches and the return of Brock Lesnar, it went off the air with a shocker. Daniel Bryan joined the Wyatt Family at long last. Perhaps Bray Wyatt has voodoo powers? Maybe Bryan has some sort of Stockholm Syndrome? Maybe the whole thing is just beyond cracked? I'm not sure yet, but I'll tell you this—they'll have my full attention as WWE kicks off the new year. Of course, it wasn't three hours of unbridled excellence. There were some duds, too. Here at Bleacher ...

The Good, the Great and the Awesome from Raw 12/30/13

Posted by Erik Beaston On December - 31 - 2013
With a number of the top WWE Superstars in Toronto as the company continues its Holiday Tour, Raw kicked off from Richmond with a limited roster. The talented young stars dotting the roster, coupled with the major return of Brock Lesnar, helped make the last Raw of 2013 one of the best in recent months. The Shield's slow implosion continued as CM Punk drove a wedge between the once-dominant faction before defeating Seth Rollins in a stellar match to kick off the evening's festivities. Daniel Bryan's conflict with the Wyatt Family headlined the show as he had to fight through Luke Harper and ...

Brock Lesnar Returns to WWE Programming at Monday Night Raw

Posted by Donald Wood On December - 30 - 2013
After several months away from the ring, former WWE and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar returned to WWE programming at the Dec. 30 episode of Monday Night Raw with Triple H in the ring. The WWE's Twitter account welcomed him back: The WWE Universe Twitter account noted an odd occurrence when Lesnar stepped into the ring: He was accompanied by manager Paul Heyman, who predictably did almost all of the talking. Lesnar made it clear he has his sights on the WWE Championship. Eventually, Mark Henry emerged and an intense battle ensued. Lesnar speared Henry through a barricade and landed an F5.  WrestleZone.com noted ...
