CM Punk Must Win at Battleground to Justify Continuing Heyman Feud

Posted by Sharon Glencross On September - 30 - 2013
If the CM Punk/Paul Heyman feud is to continue at this week's Battleground pay-per-view, CM Punk will absolutely have to pick up the victory against Ryback. The WWE appears to be heavily invested in the feud between the former best friends. It's the No. 2 storyline on the show behind only The Corporation's takeover. It probably will go on past October—hence why it's time for Punk to finally one-up Heyman. Some could argue that Ryback is the one who needs to pick up the win. He's the one getting the renewed push after all and, having lost too many pay-per-view bouts to count, ...

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On September - 30 - 2013
Welcome to Bleacher Report's live WWE Monday Night Raw coverage for Sept. 30. Battleground is only six days away, so you can expect WWE to be adding a few more matches before Sunday. So far we have three matches officially set to take place. There's RVD vs. Alberto Del Rio for the world title, Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton for the WWE title and CM Punk vs. Ryback. Big Show could end up in a match related to his feud with Triple H, and The Shield have two titles that should see title matches at the pay-per-view. Miz's ongoing feud with Triple H and ...

Santino Marella’s Cobra Charming Is WWE’s Worst Spot of the Year

Posted by Big Nasty On September - 30 - 2013
WWE has enough history of ill-advised angles to make its own anthology.  But enough about TNA Impact.  WWE once aired a tawdry vignette where Triple H simulated lewd acts with the fictional Katie Vick character.  Dwarf wrestler Hornswoggle was once revealed to be the lovechild of Vince McMahon.  In 2012, an entire episode of Raw was dedicated to a scandal that resulted from Alberto Del Rio hitting Santa Claus with his car.  Mae Young once gave birth to a hand.  WWE was undeterred by an endless low-light reel of what has come to be known as wrestlecrap.  As was WWE creative, the ...
Don't adjust your TV sets. Nothing is wrong with your picture. For the month of October, according to a WWE release on its Community page, all Superstars will begin wearing pink gear to the ring to support Susan G. Komen and raise money for National Breast Cancer Awareness month.  According to the release, all Superstars and Divas will wear customized "Rise Above Cancer" shirts and 20 percent of each shirt sold will go to the nonprofit organization. This campaign began last year when John Cena wore pink ring gear for the month of October, and we had that lovely pink ring ...
Sheamus remains on track and John Cena continues to promise to return even stronger. Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton and CM Punk have stepped deeper into the spotlight with those two WWE Superstars out of action. Cena is recovering from elbow surgery after Dr. James Andrews attended to the former WWE champ's distended elbow and Sheamus underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Their fans anxiously wait for their heroes to be at full strength and kicking butt once more. Earlier this month, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com (subscribers only), reported that the planned return date for both Cena and Sheamus was Royal ...

Cody Rhodes Was Wise to Play Up Move to Pro Wrestling Syndicate on Twitter

Posted by David Bixenspan On September - 30 - 2013
Sunday, New Jersey independent wrestling promotion Pro Wrestling syndicate tweeted the following: Knowing Pro Wrestling Syndicate, it seemed like a joke.   The promotion has a fair bit of comedy wrestling with guys like Starman (the character from Pro Wrestling for the original Nintendo Entertainment System) and the Drunken Swashbuckler.   At a PWS show I attended WrestleMania weekend, a vendor had left without paying for his table, so the ring announcer shamed him and threw the merchandise he left into the crowd. If you're familiar with PWS, announcing Cody Rhodes was coming in doesn't seem like a big deal, because it seemed like ...
After 21 years of remaining undefeated at the largest wrestling event of the year, the Undertaker and WrestleMania seem to be the peanut butter and chocolate of the wrestling world—both are great individually but together, they create a combination that is beyond this world.  Without a doubt, the Undertaker's streak has taken on a life of its own. What originally started as an unnoticed trend in the WWE's booking has now become the center stage for WrestleMania every year.  More than the titular main event match, the Undertaker's match at WrestleMania is the reason many spend their hard-earned cash every April. In a ...
WWE's first-ever (first annual?) Battleground pay-per-view event is this Sunday, and as of this writing, it feels fairly cold for a WWE PPV.   Night of Champions was WWE's first bad show in a long time. Battleground is coming too soon, and of the three announced matches so far, two are Night of Champions rematches.  The lion's share of online discussion I've seen of the main event has been centered around what exactly the finish of the Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan main event will be. The McMahon family storyline is, in one way or another, carrying WWE through WrestleMania 30, and ...

WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for Sept. 30

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On September - 30 - 2013
Warriors will sharpen their swords in preparation for battle on the Sept. 30 episode of WWE Raw. The final Raw before the first-ever Battleground pay-per-view will hype that event's marquee matches, continue the Rhodes family saga and reintroduce a tag team to WWE fans. The go-home show that airs from Biloxi, Miss. is the company's second-to-last shot at selling fans on ordering Battleground. The Superstars advertised for the show, per WWE.com, include AJ Lee, the Wyatt Family, Rob Van Dam, Antonio Cesaro, Damien Sandow, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Ryback, The Shield, Daniel Bryan and Alberto Del Rio. Another noteworthy name on the list is ...
