WWE PG Era: 5 Ideas To Impove the Product and Ratings!

Posted by Sumz On October - 31 - 2010
The WWE is currently on the verge of collapse. Week in and week out, we are forced to watch it because of our respect and love for the product, yet we are given the same old song and dance on a regular basis. I do respect that they are trying to shake things up, like having Cena in his current role, merging titles, reviving old feuds, etc. However, is it enough to keep us hooked? Here are five ideas that may not happen exactly the way I envision, but could have a chance of happening. Please be aware that these ideas are ...
A few months ago, it seemed highly unlikely that the Undertaker would ever meet his on-screen brother Kane again at Wrestlemania. Even with their latest feud, few imagined that it could stretch all the way to March 2011. And yet, it seems like it might just do that. Why? Because of the Undertaker's physical condition. Wrestling has the ability to sometimes go wrong. Certain events happen that mean WWE has to change its plans very quickly. The whole General Manager mystery grew from the problems that Bret Hart was having with his insurance. The fact that it has been several months, ...

Goldust: One of WWE’s Most Memorable Characters

Posted by Tom Clark On October - 31 - 2010
Goldust. Since the character’s introduction in 1995, Dustin Runnels has enjoyed a level of success that most workers in the business can only dream of.Bizarre, provocative and completely controversial, Goldust took the wrestling world by storm, once again proving that a good gimmick can make a world of difference. Without the face paint and bodysuit, Dustin Runnels is Dusty Rhodes’ son. Period. No storyline angle at work here, only DNA. Of course, being the son of The American Dream, while allowing Dustin to learn from one of the all-time greats, also placed a lot of pressure on the then-young man’s ...
What up bleachers? It has been a while since I last wrote anything about Christian and I know this article might, better yet, will get me some "just give it up" and "for the millionth time he is not going to win it" comments, the way Smackdown has been going the last few shows I have one thing to say...again. With the way things are going, Christian will have the world title. Okay, now on to the title. Edge has currently become the new No. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Title. Now that Undertaker is out for a while, the World title can ...

WWE Fan Appreciation Day 10/30/10 Results and Review: Triple H Returns!

Posted by Graham Mirmina On October - 31 - 2010
I got there around 2:45 and the hallways at the XL Center were packed! Not much merchandise was being sold, and I was tight on cash, so we didn't bother. We were in 213, all the way in the back, so most of the seats were open, but we had one hell of a view. It was a basic house-show opening, no big ramp or stage. The Bragging Rights trophy was in the middle of the ramp. The seats began to fill up when the show started, and it was packed. The WWE Company overview video aired, and Howard Finkel announced the show. ...
Opening Segment Kane opened the show with the Undertaker’s funeral. Kane told the WWE Universe that there is no hope for a return by the Undertaker. Alberto Del Rio made his way to the ring and interrupted Kane. Kane was confused by the reason Del Rio would be in his presence. Del Rio made his case for a World Championship match. Del Rio smacked the urn out of Paul Bearer’s hands and attacked Kane. Mysterio ran into the ring and caused Del Rio to roll out onto the apron. The Rated-R Superstar, Mysterio, hit the 619 on Paul ...

The Undertaker Wrestlemania 27 Update: Brock Lesnar as Special Referee?

Posted by Matt Offermann On October - 30 - 2010
http://www.prowrestling.com/article/news/16810 All of what follows is based upon information from Prowrestling.com. There are now talks that, because of Brock Lesnar's contract, instead of actually facing The Undertaker, it is possible that Lesnar will serve as a special guest referee. In regard to The Undertaker's potential opponents, it sounds as though he will face either Wade Barrett or Kane. I may be wrong, but tell me what you think of it.Read more Pro Wrestling news on BleacherReport.com

CM Punk to Revive Straight Edge Society on Raw?

Posted by Matt Offermann On October - 30 - 2010
Last Monday we witnessed a match between Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler. What was most significant was who came down to the announcers' table to watch: CM Punk. He claimed that he was "scouting" some new talent. Could this just be because he is starting to scout for the new Straight Edge Society? Just the way he clapped for Bryan seems (to me) like he is going to try to go after him for a new SES on Raw. Maybe it's just me, but watch the video and tell me what you think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGYYbVmF_Ko Would you like to see Daniel Bryan in SES? Would this help his career, or ...

The Undertaker’s Retirement: Not What We Want, What He Wants

Posted by Jesus Rocha On October - 30 - 2010
We wrestling fans have all wondered when and where we want to see The Undertaker go out. Many people want Undertaker to go 20-0 at Wrestlemania, but I am here to say (not in a mean way) who cares what you want? Yes, we all know a perfect 20-0 would be great, but can Undertaker actually last two more years? At the moment, he is pretty beaten up and really needs to heal. He is scheduled to have surgery on his shoulder, but reportedly the shoulder isn't the only thing bothering him. Taker can barely wrestle like he did a few years ago. At ...

WWE Smackdown October 29: Monster Mash, Opportunity Strikes

Posted by Graham Mirmina On October - 30 - 2010
Undertaker Funeral Another awesome promo by Kane, and it was great to see it open up the show. Having Alberto Del Rio interrupt was fine, but why not Mysterio then Del Rio? When Del Rio and Kane fought, the crowd had no reaction since the two are both heels.   United States Champion Daniel Bryan def. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler (non-title) Yet another great addition to the series between these two. But it just didn't have same the feel as the match at Bragging Rights, because this is the third time we've seen it go down exactly the same way. I'm a little shocked that Bryan ...
