WCW Halloween Havoc, Part 2: The 13 Most Horrifying Gimmicks in WCW History

Posted by Benjamin Benya On October - 30 - 2010
Two days ago, I wrote an article just in time for Halloween about the most horrifying gimmicks the WWE has ever produced. And now, after a few days of thought, I have decided to give the same treatment to the stars of World Championship Wrestling. While WWE may have had a fascination with the macabre side of things, WCW was easily the B-movie patron saint of wrestling's horror gimmicks.Nearly every attempt that the WCW made ended more laughably than it started, so without further ado, we look towards the past with these 13 atrocities (only a few of which were actually ...

NTWWC Cycle 1: NXT Gen. Week 2

Posted by Chris B On October - 30 - 2010
Hello again Bleacher Report! This is week two of Next Top Women's Wrestling Columnist. Last week the competitors were challenged to work together to create an article. They had to write an article detailing which member of LayCool is the strongest. First up:   Rize and Jamie- http://bleacherreport.com/articles/505276-when-couples-attack-who-is-the-stronger-member-of-laycool Formatting- 10/10 Grammar- 7/10 Creativity- 7/10 Overall- 24/30 Thoughts: I liked that you both stayed true to your own individual styles, and it was very smart of you to distinguish who wrote what. There were a few errors in grammar here and there but nothing really big. There  just a few awkward terms. The fact that you wrote about each ...

WWE: Is the Tag Team Division Dead? Who Can Save It and How

Posted by Antelope Spartan On October - 30 - 2010
On yesterday's edition of Smackdown, the World Heavyweight Champion Kane held a “funeral” for The Undertaker following the Buried Alive encounter at Bragging Rights. I am now going to consider whether or not the funeral would have been more appropriate for the WWE tag team division. The current deficiency of credible tag teams in the WWE has been a major talking point for a long time. I am not convinced that the WWE is particularly concerned with the rapid decline of a once-important part of its product. But why? First and foremost, you have to look at the individual wrestlers. The business has changed ...

WWE Smackdown: Results, Questions and Comments

Posted by Rob Belote On October - 30 - 2010
It’s the first week of building toward the Survivor Series, and as it’s Friday night, it’s time for Smackdown! The Undertaker was buried alive by Kane, but will he miraculously make his return?  Will Kane find a new challenger? Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre are no longer Unified World Tag Team Champions.  What’s next for them?  Do they keep up their alliance?  Will one of them turn on the other?  The singles championships on Smackdown are held by heels, so it wouldn’t make sense for either of them to go after Kane or Ziggler. Smackdown is getting ...
The hot topic of the last few days is obviously Brock Lesnar and Undertaker's confrontation after UFC 121. This led to a huge buzz and the rumor machine turned full speed with speculations about a Lesnar vs. Undertaker encounter at Wrestlemania 27. It didn't take long before the UFC's owner turned down the idea, mentioning Lesnar would not fight anywhere outside UFC. While the scenario looked attractive, it just would not happen anyway. Despite the fact Dana White cut short any hope for such a happening at the next Wrestlemania, there are five other reasons why the match won't happen.   1. The Guest Non-Wrestlers Always ...

Otunga On The Way Out? Five Possible Replacements For The Nexus

Posted by Matt Offermann On October - 29 - 2010
As we have all seen, David Otunga is on the rocks with Nexus leader Wade Barrett. It seems as if very soon he shall be out of Nexus. The Nexus has been down a few people lately but added Michael McGillicutty and Husky Harris. If Otunga does leave or get kicked out, then it would seem that there should be another person added to it. I found five guys that I feel really could be a part of the Nexus.Begin Slideshow

DK’s Beef With the IWC: What in the Blue Hell Are You Doing?

Posted by Donkey Kong On October - 29 - 2010
The famous Nintendo character Donkey Kong is a proud member of the IWC and a die-hard wrestling fan since birth.  However, I have noticed some things that are just not right. Excessively long comments, articles in response to other articles, downright stupid personal attacks, and blatant hypocrisy are among my list of items to rant on.  This is also true in sports, politics and anything mentioning Justin Bieber.  Hopefully, the powers that be will notice this is worth publishing.   Excessively long comments First and foremost, why are people writing novel-sized comments?  Are they writing a dissertation or a senior thesis? ...
Yes sir, we promised you a great main event.   Undertaker's Funeral The opening of the show had a video of The Undertaker going through some door. Not sure what it meant, but it was quite weird. In the arena, Kane's music hit, and he was kneeling by the grave and tombstone where he buried Undertaker (in a different arena, the grave stone must just travel). He says that the saga is over and that he has proven his dominance over the Undertaker for the final time, as his brother is never coming back because he buried him. He said there will be theories on whether ...

WWE Superstars 10/28/10 Review: Reks In Effect, Family Affairs

Posted by Graham Mirmina On October - 29 - 2010
Mark Henry def. Jey Uso w/Jimmy Uso and Tamina Decent match seeing that Henry was in it, and that Jey Uso actually didn't get dominated. Jey Uso hit some nice spots, but Jimmy Uso had a great spot from the outside with that kick. It was logical to have Henry get the win, but this match was set up only to get both wrestlers in action. I don't see a feud coming, but what disappoints me the most was, where the hell was Ezekiel Jackson? What better way to return to RAW after a multiple-month injury than to feud with a WWE veteran ...

When Couples Attack: Who Is the Stronger Member of Lay-Cool?

Posted by Jamie Johnson On October - 29 - 2010
Welcome to the first installment of articles coming out for the Next Top Women's Wrestling Columnist competition. This week, we were branched off into pairs.Rize and I had different opinions about who the stronger member of LayCool is. Instead of us trying to convince each other to sway, we're presenting both arguments for each member of LayCool. That way, you the reader can come to your own conclusions. It's the best of both worlds. Rize is up first. Enjoy!RizeIn my first step to becoming the Next Top Women's Wrestling Columnist, I was presented with a seemingly simple subject. Who's the stronger ...
