WWE: Mr. Bird’s Wrestling Opus (Royal Rumble 2011 Review)

Posted by Milton B On January - 31 - 2011
The Best Ever? The 2011 Royal Rumble may have been, and probably was, the best ever. You could make a case for the 1992 Rumble in which Ric Flair won the WWF Championship. An argument could even be made for Stone Cold Steve Austin winning the 2001 Rumble in spite of Kane's dominance, or Hulk Hogan's victory and Ric "The Model" Martel's then-record at the 1991 Rumble. All of the aforementioned Rumbles were remarkable in their own right. However, I will explain why this year's Rumble topped them all later in this article.   The Undercard In recent years the Royal Rumble undercard matches ...

WWE Royal Rumble Results: 10 Things We Learned From Edge’s Win

Posted by John Kindelan On January - 31 - 2011
The company-shaking event that is the Royal Rumble has come and gone, with not nearly as many surprises as we all would have hoped for. We saw zero title changes and apparently it was someones destiny to win the over-the top-rope royal rumble.  The first match of the night Edge vs. Dolph Ziggler proved to be an interesting one, while going into the match one might have wondered how a former spirit squad member and long time "Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler" would end up in a match at one of the largest pay per view events of the year contending for the ...

WWE: The Only Thing "Royal" About This Rumble Is That It Royally Sucked

Posted by Nick Bolyard On January - 31 - 2011
Edge would likely characterize this year's Royal Rumble as a "big, fat, failure turtle".  Had I of paid to see this I would have been furious. However, I digress.   As I have done since Bragging Rights, I will hand out awards for this month's pay-per-view, the Royal Rumble. It's time to take a look at the worst and best (I use that term loosely) of this year's Royal Rumble. WTF Moment of the Night This is a tough one. So I am declaring it a draw. Winner number one is The Nexus. They all got in the ring at once and eliminated ...

TNA Slammiversary 2010: Bleacher Report Prediction League Results

Posted by Josh Logan On January - 31 - 2011
TNA Slammiversary 2010: BR Prediction League Results!  Firstly, let me apologize for the latest in the posting of the prediction results for each PPV. But hopefully by Survivor Series the league will be up to date; with the results from the back log of PPVs posted.    TNA Slammiversary featured RVD vs. Sting for the TNA Championship and the beginning of the Hardy/Anderson feud. Also the major hook for the PPV was Dixie Carter announcing major news that would change the shape of TNA forever! Do we even know what this news is now; is it ECW reunion or ...

WWE Fatal 4-Way 2010: BR Prediction League Results  So here are the Fatal Four Way Prediction League results. I'm sorry for the delay in getting results posted, but the back-log is being sorted. And hopefully the league will be up to date come Survivor Series. FFW featured three 4-way matches, the first with Sheamus winning the WWE Championship from Cena and then Mysterio winning the WHC from Swagger. Alicia Fox was crowned Diva’s Champion. And both Miz/Kofi retained their championships. Well done to Aadhya Shivakumar for topping the league for a second PPV in a row and nearly completing the ...
The 2011 Royal Rumble has now come and gone, and the Road to WrestleMania has officially begun. The event made history with 40 men entering the Rumble match, all competing for a chance to main-event WrestleMania XXVII. In the end, Alberto Del Rio made his destiny a reality and was declared the winner. But you already know that. His new goal will be to claim ownership to SmackDown's top prize, the World Heavyweight Championship. The man he will most likely face at WrestleMania XXVII for the Big Gold Belt is none other than the Rated R Superstar himself, Edge, who successfully defended ...
Hello, Buzzers—Buzz is back.Royal Rumble, supposedly one of WWE's biggest and most exciting events, is now over.Honestly speaking, I'm still not able to judge this PPV. We did see some surprises and some exciting moments, but something went wrong in the Rumble match.I guess excitement is always guaranteed, especially when you wait for the next opponent. But other than this, we did witness some chaos.Anyway, I'm sure that most members here are now familiar with my post-PPV slideshows when I discuss several things we learned from the event. However, my focus this time will be on one match due to ...

Much has occured at this months Royal Rumble event. Reports were out a month ago that much of what happend at the Royal Rumble will culiminate into matches at Wrestlemania XXVII. So, that kinds gives a very clear idea of what is set to happend at Wrestlemania XXVII.Along with current reports stating what creative has in store for Wrestlemania match ups, I decided to put along a little slide-show displaying highly likely match ups for this years greatest stage of em' all. Well as you can tell by the title, I felt that this Royal Rumble was one of the biggest disappointments in WWE history. Going into this night I thought that this Rumble had the potential to be incredibly exciting and even have a chance to be one of the greatest ever, boy was I wrong.Let's get started as I tell you why the pay-per-view (and I feel your pain if you did pay to see it) sucked. Match #1: Edge (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrero in a Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship w/ the Stipulation That if Edge ...
With the biggest Royal Rumble match ever now in the books and with the two World Champions retaining their belts, it's now time to think about Wrestlemania 27.It's not a secret for no one: Alberto Del Rio accomplished his destiny and created a huge upset by winning the historic over-the-rope extravaganza. But in addition to that victory by Del Rio, many events happened during the Rumble match, and I invite you to take a look at the potential aftermath of the evening. So, with no more introduction, let's take a look at what WWE may have in store for their biggest show ...
