WWE Draft 2011: 15 Bold Predictions for the Raw-SmackDown Draft

Posted by Kevin Yeung On April - 23 - 2011
You may think the WWE Draft is irrelevant because in the past couple of months, we have seen Superstars and Divas regularly appearing on other shows. However, that is not true.If a Superstar is on SmackDown, then he may only compete for the SmackDown championships. Those championships, by the way, are also prone to get drafted over to the other brand. For example, it is not out of the question to see The Miz drafted over to SmackDown. As you can see, the WWE Draft is still important. However, who could be switching brands? I will make some bold predictions for which wrestlers may find themselves ...

Instant Kharma: Awesome Kong Set to Make an Impact in WWE

Posted by Tom Clark On April - 23 - 2011
Awesome Kong. Since bursting on the scene in 2002, this powerhouse lady wrestler has dominated virtually everyone she’s been in the ring with. Currently signed to WWE, Kong, who reportedly will be called Kharma, is poised to revitalize the women’s division. I mean, that’s what I’m hoping she will do. I have to be honest here, I’m not exactly expecting very much of this company when it comes to doing right by Kharma. Call it negative thinking, call it unnecessary criticism, whatever it is, I just don’t have a good feeling about it. First off, Kong was TNA talent. Period. It does not matter ...
I think it's fairly safe to say that we are seeing the end-times of the Corre. They've been used basically as Keystone Cops villains for the past few months, running on for two minutes and getting booed, being thoroughly squashed at WrestleMania in a match that may well have lasted less time than the pointless Snooki-fest, and now the tension is showing. It wasn't always like this, of course. Once upon a time Wade Barrett got to menace his way round the WWE, while his acolytes (particularly Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel) snickered behind him. But as Barrett keeps reminding us, ...
Sports Entertainment Scoops (sescoops.com) is reporting that WWE Superstar Edge was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, which forced him to retire from active competition inside the ring.Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal column that causes pressure on the the spinal cord. The condition is usually genetic in nature, and usually doesn't cause problems for people until they reach their 70's.Spinal stenosis also ended the career of WWE Hall of Famer, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. With spinal stenosis, the risk of paralysis from taking a bad bump is high, and any type of regular in-ring performing would accelerate potential health problems, ...

The now yearly WWE Draft takes place this coming Monday, April 24, and not a moment too soon. With Edge having to retire, and the Undertaker nowhere to be found for the near future, the Smackdown roster has become thin to say the least. But this article isn't about what will be happening this Monday, but what has already taken place over seven previous WWE Drafts (not including the mini-ECW one in 2006). Here's a list of the Top 20 Shocking WWE Draft Moments of All Time. Agree/Disagree? Let yourself be known. Feel I missed some moment? Please point it ...

WWE How To: Guide to Faction Destruction

Posted by John Nicolaides On April - 23 - 2011
Over the last few months I have witnessed the WWE make a mockery out of two stables with tremendous potential: The Corre and the New Nexus (keep in mind I am referring to the New Nexus, when CM Punk became leader and Wade Barrett moved to Smackdown to start The Corre).I have created a guide that will discuss how the WWE has, step by step, built up and subsequently buried two factions, and the parallels between both the New Nexus and The Corre.Begin Slideshow

WWE Draft 2011: With the 1st Pick, SmackDown Clamors For…

Posted by Big Nasty On April - 22 - 2011
The WWE Draft has a pay-per-view like buzz to it, at least from a journalism aspect, as the theme of the annual shake-things-up-athon centers around the SmackDown brand trying to regain its mojo. Time was SmackDown was the "wrestling" show of the two brands.  Rich with an efficient balance of good hands and over characters with hint of old school charm, compliments of SmackDown head writer and pro wrestling lifer Michael P.S. Hayes, SmackDown exemplified the true art form of professional sports entertainment that RAW's weekly variety show didn't always capture.  Give or take a couple de-pushes, and the loss ...

WWE Draft 2011: My Post-Draft SmackDown Roster

Posted by Ryan Frye On April - 22 - 2011
Thursday night, I posted my ideal Raw roster after the WWE Draft. So now, I am back to switch things around and do the exact same thing for the WWE's B-Show; Friday Night SmackDown. SmackDown is the main reason the WWE moved the draft from July to this coming Monday Night. After losing Edge, SmackDown lacked a top face or really a fully established main event name period.Without further delay, Lights. Camera. Action!Begin Slideshow
