Hulk Hogan went on ESPN's SportsNation this week and started taking shots at Denver Broncos newly-anointed starting quarterback Tim Tebow. It was purely a publicity stunt by Hogan, whose been making the rounds to promote Hulk Hogan's Main Event, a new wrestling video game. Hogan has been working with Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling over the past few years after leaving WWE in 2007 due to disagreements with Vince McMahon. While Hogan is still a big draw for TNA, his popularity has begun to fade without the mainstream support. He's tried to regain that popularity by going after the likes ...

WWE Smackdown Results: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Posted by Justin Watry On October - 15 - 2011
I did not enjoy this edition of Smackdown too much. To be perfectly honest with all of you, it was fine for a "one off," but it had nothing that you really cared for by the end of the two hours.  The Good I do not even need to bring this up, but Mark Henry continues to be the best performer on WWE TV. He is the story of 2011. Outside of Punk this summer, and The Rock returning, it is not even close. His build up with Big Show was again, great. These two have the perfect grudge feud ...

TNA Bound for Glory 2011 Predictions: Hogan/Sting, Angle/Roode and More

Posted by Justin Watry On October - 15 - 2011
TNA's biggest show of the year is finally here! Bound for Glory has become the staple of TNA's year. Why? I don't know. I guess they just decided to make the October event "special" to fans. The roman numerals go to Slammiversary, and the June show technically is their milestone each year, but what do I care? Just a long list of pointless things in TNA!As for the card, it looks decent. There are only a few matches worth watching, and a ton of matches that just hold zero interest to me. Biggest show of the year? Not even close. With that ...

TNA News: AJ Styles Slams Hogan After Radio Remarks

Posted by Sharon Glencross On October - 15 - 2011
Following Hulk Hogan's controversial comments to Busted Open Radio yesterday in which he said he lacked faith in the abilities of Robert Roode and AJ Styles to carry the company in the future, a frustrated Styles has lashed out at the wrestling icon on his Twitter account. Styles, a long-term and highly respected member of the TNA roster, vented: Frustration setting in when your own guys bury the company that u have worked so hard for........ Brother!   Notably, Styles also retweeted the following comments a fan tweeted to him; indicating he feels Hogan is alienated from fans in 2011 and, more perhaps damagingly, that ...
It has already been a week since Mixed Martial Arts loudmouth Chael Sonnen's pro-wrestling inspired promo at UFC 136, and it's a week that will figure to combine with every week leading up to an inevitable showdown between Sonnen and pound-for-pound/middleweight king Anderson Silva to create a lucrative build up period. Chael Sonnen brief, albeit effective, tirade on Anderson "The Spider" Silva was quite possibly the promo of the year in any form of sports and entertainment, as he offered to put his UFC career on the line for the opportunity to score an otherwise fortuitous rematch against Silva. I see your ...

WWE Opinion: The Parallel Legacies of Vince McMahon and Al Davis

Posted by Big Nasty On October - 15 - 2011
NFL pioneer Al Davis' death was among the top stories from this past week.  The dissident and controversial owner of the Oakland Raiders passed away 82 years into a tumultuous and rebellious existence. Given the magnitude of such a noteworthy passing, it's no surprise that the national sports media has since been scoured with endless articles, editorials and obituaries chronicling the always-interesting life and times of the NFL's original bad boy (This article does Davis' dissenting life a particular amount of justice.)In remembering Davis' life through the infinite cycle of online and print media, I couldn't help but notice striking similarities ...

WWE: How Concerned Should We Be over WWE’s Recent Attendance Woes?

Posted by Micah Chen On October - 15 - 2011
Every week it's getting easier to notice. Whether it be Smackdown, Raw, even some PPV's, very rarely do you see a WWE event fill every section of an arena nowadays. There has been some talk over this issue recently, such as when the WWE went to Dayton, Ohio, where the entire upper bowl was closed off and the non-camera side was entirely empty. It used to be when a WWE event came to a town, the WWE would take over that town.  For one night, it was the hottest ticket in town. It didn't matter whether it was a PPV, Raw, Smackdown ...

Worst Oversells in WWE History

Posted by Jerry Sanchez On October - 15 - 2011
The wrestling business. We all know the truth, obviously; it's scripted, however not fake. So every match that we've seen, the wrestlers know what they should be doing at the time they should be performing the act. Sometimes there are botches, or a screw up, and sometimes the wrestlers sell a move so bad that it's unbelievable a person would buy that. Here are some of the funniest sells in WWE history that I have found. Enjoy!Begin Slideshow

WWE: Five Segments with the Muppets That Need to Happen

Posted by T. Schaefer On October - 15 - 2011
The Muppets hold a special place in my heart, so when I heard that the Muppets were going to guest-host the Halloween edition of Raw, the little kid in me cheered like an eight-year-old rooting for John Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment.Ultimately the question became, however, how does one use such legendary characters properly on a wrestling show? They really can't wrestle, and the spots have to be done so you don't see them being manipulated by the "muppeteers." More or less, this will be a backstage-heavy show, I'm sure, but it has possibilities. There are a few segments that will ...

TNA WRESTLING: Bound for Glory Predictions & How I Would Book the PPV

Posted by Darcy Fournier On October - 15 - 2011
Tag Team Title Match: Mexican America vs. Ink, Inc. The Tag Division within TNA is woefully weak and each tag team in this match, perfectly shows just how weak the division is. Mexican America is perhaps one of the worst tag teams in the history of any wrestling promotion and Ink Inc. only attracts a certain type of fan, they are not universally appealing. It's one of many repeat matches on this card, as we saw Mexican America defeat Ink Inc. earlier this year on another PPV. Match InterestSnooze Fest. Most TNA fans only care about this match to see ...
