WWE SmackDown, Dec. 16: GSM’s Analysis and Aftermath

Posted by Graham 'GSM' Matthews On December - 17 - 2011
Only 48 hours before WWE presents its electric TLC pay-per-view, SmackDown provided yet another enjoyable show filled with good action, solid segments, and excellent build for this Sunday. Here, I will analyze each significant segment presented on the show. I will also provide a combination of aftermath and wishful thinking about what we hope to see in coming weeks. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes interrupted Booker TGood promo from Booker T and Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes to kick off the show. Their rivalry needed this one last promo to get me excited about their upcoming title match at TLC, and they succeeded. Rhodes continues to significantly improve ...

A Look Back at WWE’s Infamous Curtain Call: The MSG Incident

Posted by Richard Boudreau On December - 17 - 2011
The world of professional wrestling is synonymous with rumors, speculation, half truths and misinformation. But with one of pro wrestling’s most notorious incidents, “Curtain Call: The MSG Incident,” which applies here? You decide. This incident occurred at a time when World Wrestling Entertainment, then the World Wrestling Federation, was just ending its “Family Friendly” phase. It was entering a new chapter that became what is known as “The Attitude Era.” It involved four of wrestling’s most popular superstars of all time: Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.At a WWE House Show in the famed Madison Square Garden, May ...

WWE TLC 2011 Predictions: Previewing Every Match Sunday Night

Posted by Justin Watry On December - 17 - 2011
WWE TLC weekend is finally here! There are quite a few big matches set up for Sunday night, and I am looking forward to the event. Yes, some matches are predictable, but that is not always a bad thing.I will be watching the PPV show with a watchful eye because I have tickets for the Elimination Chamber PPV in February in beautiful Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With each passing show, it will become more and more clear which matches I will be seeing live in two months!Begin Slideshow
A special note...As has been the norm for me over the last three weeks, I bring this review to you sans reading one spoiler of what was to come. I know how tempting it is in today’s society to have constant information at one’s fingertips, but I highly recommend resisting the temptation to read spoilers from the TNA tapings prior to watching the show. It’s a much better show when viewed in that manner.  TNA Impact Insider Air Date: 12/15/11  Impact Momentum coming in: high Since the 11/17 airing, which was, in my opinion, the best Impact in over two ...

WWE TLC 2011: Complete Card, Live Stream, Predictions, Rumors and More

Posted by Donald Wood On December - 17 - 2011
While TLC isn’t one of the WWE's more prestigious PPV events of the year, this is the kind of show that has more potential to be amazing than any of the other shows the company has put on this year. Just like Money in the Bank earlier this year, this is a gimmick show that has all the makings of being way better than the limited expectations that surround it. The card is stacked and all the stars are coming out, so this should be an epic show.  Where: 1st Mariner Arena, Baltimore, MD When: Sunday, December 18, 8:00 p.m. ...

WWE TLC 2011 Predictions: Triple H and Kevin Nash Will Steal the Show

Posted by Donald Wood On December - 17 - 2011
There is no doubt in my mind that the Sledgehammer Ladder Match between Triple H and Kevin Nash will steal the show during WWE’s TLC PPV on Sunday. While many fans are complaining that Nash will never be able to work a match as physically intense as a Ladder Match, it’s obvious that they just have no real grasp of the wrestling business. Triple H and Kevin Nash have been best friends for almost 20 years and they have been in more matches together than most of the current WWE stars have been in during their entire career. Each man knows ...

WWE TLC 2011: John Cena Must Make His Presence Known at PPV

Posted by Donald Wood On December - 17 - 2011
While John Cena doesn’t have a match at Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view, there is no way the WWE can allow their biggest star to not be in attendance at a huge show like this one.Cena doesn’t have to work a match, just begin the feud that leads him into the WrestleMania run with The Rock. That’s where the new and improved Kane comes in. The WWE wants to bring Kane back as a heel, so making him destroy Cena would make him hated by the masses of children that support Cena with their heart and soul. While the older fans that ...
Magical. That's what Zack Ryder has become and the WWE is not in the habit of throwing those types of stars away. The only thing you need to know about Ryder is that he connects with fans. The budding star will inch closer to superstardom when he steps into the ring at WWE TLC. There are multiple levels that each personae has to take on their road to becoming a household name. Ryder is about to level up against Ziggler in what is a foregone conclusion in my book. The WWE has been looking for a face to take over the greatest name in ...
Triple H's promo on Monday night gave us strong hints that he'll be facing the Undertaker at WrestleMania. That relates to Sunday's Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view in one way. Triple H will go over Kevin Nash in convincing fashion, beating him in the Sledgehammer Ladder Match. When it comes to predicting the WWE, anything can happen. They often seem to throw inexplicable curveballs just for the fun of it. That could still happen. But Triple H mentioning the Undertaker's name out of nowhere in his return promo on Monday tells me that they are at least thinking about setting up a ...

WWE: Eddie Guerrero, Vickie Guerrero and the Family Legacy

Posted by Tom Clark On December - 17 - 2011
The Guerreros are one of the most famous pro-wrestling families of all-time.  Their achievements in the business, and the level at which they performed, is second to none, and their impact in the industry will likely be felt for generations to come.Father Gory, and his four sons, Chavo, Mando, Hector and of course, Eddie, brought a level of class to every promotion they worked for.  They set the bar for every Luchador who came after them, as well as opened doors for other Mexican superstars.Man, I miss Eddie.Just typing those opening paragraphs makes me remember that smiling face, the swagger ...
