TNA Genesis: No 5-Star Classics, but an Enjoyable Show Nonetheless

Posted by Julian Radbourne On January - 14 - 2012
It’s time to step into the Impact Zone for the first time this year as we take a look at TNA’s first pay-per-view of the year. Featuring Jeff Hardy challenging Bobby Roode for the world title in the main event, Genesis was shown this past Wednesday night on Challenge here in Britain. The show began with the first title match of the evening as Zema Ion, Kid Kash and Jesse Sorensen challenged Austin Aries for the X Division title in a four-way elimination match. This was a pretty good match, another example of what the rejuvenated X Division is all ...

WWE: Does Heath Slater Really Have a Chance on SmackDown?

Posted by Robert Aitken On January - 14 - 2012
Every new year, I like to pick a superstar that is lower on the card than he should be and predict something big from them in the coming 12 months. This year, that superstar is not Heath Slater. Well, at least not yet. For those who wish to refer to Slater as a waste of a roster spot, however, I beg to differ.Slater came to WWE through the developmental territory of Florida Championship Wrestling. There, Slater was a Florida Heavyweight Champion, the promotion's top honor. All but two of the 13 men who have ever held that title are still ...
Is he ready? Can he wrestle? Can he help carry the team? And most importantly, can he sell and draw ratings? The answers to all these questions are a resounding, YES! It's Dolph Ziggler's time. While others have been in the spotlight for years (John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton), it is now time to introduce the WWE Universe to new and exciting world champions. I am not saying the likes of Cena and Punk aren't exciting, but it is time for there to be more wrestlers fighting for the company's top draw. And Ziggler has been working on his ...

TNA IMPACT Jan.12 2012: I Want My Thursday Night Back

Posted by Double A Tate On January - 14 - 2012
If you know me or know of me around Bleacher Report/Twitter, then you know I am not a TNA fan. I have had many debates with TNA fans as to why I do not care for that promotion and after much frustration we agree to disagree…or I agree to turn the channel and they agree to continue to celebrate mediocrity. Last night I found myself home and on Twitter.  As usual people were tweeting about TNA.  Not one to be left out of a discussion, I figured what the hell? How bad can it be? Well, let me just state ...

WWE Rumors: Dallas Cowboys Stadium Not Hosting WrestleMania 29 or 30

Posted by Donald Wood On January - 14 - 2012
WrestleMania is the biggest event on the WWE calendar each year, but the speculation that the event would be coming to Dallas Cowboys Stadium in the next few years is wrong. I was really hoping to see Brodus Clay on the world’s largest video screen. There had been talk in the past that Dallas was to host WrestleMania 29, but previous commitments around the same time as the WWE’s marquee event will keep the world’s largest domed arena from hosting the biggest WWE show until at least 2015. Wrestling Inc. talks about a report that the Dallas Observer broke before: ...

WWE Hall of Fame: Will Ric Flair’s Induction Open Doors for TNA’s Sting?

Posted by Graham 'GSM' Matthews On January - 14 - 2012
This past Monday night on Raw, WWE shocked the world by announcing their first inductees into this year's WWE Hall of Fame class of 2012 (not counting Mil Mascaras): One of whom was the recently retired Edge, while the other well-done video package paid tribute to the original members of the Four Horsemen. In the video, it was revealed that the inductees would be Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham, J.J. Dillon and surprisingly Ric Flair. Of course, this may seem like an obvious choice given how Flair played a major factor in the group's success, but the fact that he's ...

WWE: 10 Independent Female Stars Who Could Change the Divas Division

Posted by Sharon Glencross On January - 14 - 2012
One thing is for sure: WWE's women's division is in a state of flux right now.Divas Champion Beth Phoenix hasn't been seen in weeks, her tag partner Natalya has been similarly lost in the shuffle, Eve Torres is stuck in an outrageous romance angle with Zack Ryder (which seems to revolve around whether or not he can change her tires), and former poster girl for the division, Kelly Kelly, has been reduced to appearing in short backstage segments plugging her official website.  The rest of the women in the company are either stuck as managers (AJ Lee, Rosa Mendes) or have been sent to NXT: Redemption (an Internet-only show ...

WWE/TNA: Wrestling Wish List for the New Year

Posted by Justin Watry On January - 14 - 2012
The wrestling year is finally over! Awards have been given out. Major moments have been counted down, and plenty of sad memories are in our minds. However, it is now time to look forward to a new year.I debated even doing this for the past couple weeks. As most know, I don't like "fantasy booking." Even doing predictions or a preview feels "off" for me.However, I have managed to come up with a couple things I wish to see in 2012!Begin Slideshow

WWE Smackdown: More Upside Between Wade Barrett or Sheamus?

Posted by Justin Watry On January - 14 - 2012
Let me put up a few notes before I begin. 1. This is talking about the short-term future. Let's say only until WrestleMania! 2. Next week on Smackdown is Wade Barrett vs. Sheamus. This is a very interesting topic to me. It all came about last night when it was announced that Sheamus would be facing Wade Barrett next week on Smackdown. They have fought before, but this seemed like a "big deal." The other interesting aspect is both men are set to be in the Royal Rumble match in two weeks. They will be one of many looking to ...
At TLC 2011, Daniel Bryan reversed course on his promise and cashed in his "Money In The Bank" contract and won the World Heavyweight Championship on the Big Show. The taint of gold seems to be real, though. It's almost as if the belt has a corrupting influence. The man once held the highest of ideals. He would use his guaranteed title shot for the ultimate chance at glory. He would main-event at the "Showcase of the Immortals" and live his dream. Then, with encouragement from Big Show and the right opportunity, Bryan traded that dream for a reign with a belt that ...
