In a press release Monday, the WWE announced the creation of the company’s third television program, WWE Main Event, that will be broadcast on the Ion television network to go alongside Raw and Smackdown every week. Before the announcement of the new WWE program, former television shows Superstars and NXT did not find much success, as the two shows are no longer airing on WGN America and bound to being broadcast on WWE.com, respectively. Here are the details from F4WOnline (via WrestlingInc.com) on the current plans for the new WWE program set to begin later this fall. As noted before, WWE will ...

WWE: Why Vince McMahon Needs Brock Lesnar on TV Now

Posted by Sebastian Maldonado On June - 26 - 2012
Vince McMahon needs Brock Lesnar on television right now. This isn’t an issue of star power and storylines.  They’ve done everything they can with their everyday players. However, a certain storyline has been on a topsy-turvy roller coaster.  The feud between Lesnar and Triple H has been manageable thanks to Paul Heyman’s involvement.  Heyman is not Brock Lesnar, and many fans want to see Lesnar back in the ring with more than just an appearance.Despite the limited number of appearances Lesnar has on his schedule, he is still a draw. Every time fans hear Lesnar’s music and Heyman appears instead, disappointment sums up ...

WWE News: Daniel Bryan Must Win WWE Title at Money in the Bank

Posted by Donald Wood On June - 26 - 2012
While the talk is that the WWE wants CM Punk to face John Cena at SummerSlam, letting Daniel Bryan win the title at Money in the Bank 2012 pay-per-view would be the perfect way to have that battle come to fruition. Monday Night RAW’s interim General manager Vickie Guerrero made the announcement via Twitter, which seems counterproductive considering she was on national television at the time: I’ve just confirmed with the WWE Board that at #MoneyInTheBank, @CMPunk will defend the WWE Championship against @WWEDanielBryan.— Vickie Guerrero (@ExcuseMeWWE) June 26, 2012 Despite the fact that the WWE is overly obsessed with Twitter, ...
On the previous Friday Night Smackdown, we discovered who will be the first participant in the upcoming Money in the Bank match for the WWE Championship briefcase. The star in question is none other than former World Champion, The Big Show, who has experience in one other match prior to this one on the horizon. Then, on Monday Night RAW, Vicki Guerrero declared that the remaining competitors would all be former WWE Champions themselves. Three more wrestlers were added to the lineup, these being Kane, Chris Jericho and multi-time World Champion, John Cena. After these announcements, the total became no larger than ...

Kevin Nash: WWE Legend in Talks for Blockbuster Movie Role

Posted by Jim McCarthy, Jr. On June - 26 - 2012
USA Today caught up with WWE Legend Kevin Nash at the Los Angeles Film Festival on Sunday night, an event that hosted various celebrities including Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and director Steven Soderbergh. According to Nash, he is very close to landing an unspecified role in the upcoming blockbuster The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. "I just pray it's recurring, that he doesn't get killed," Nash said. This won't be the first time the former WWE Champion has been featured on the silver screen. Nash's acting resume includes movies such as The Punisher, The Longest Yard and, most recently, Rock of ...

WWE Monday Night Raw: Why the 1,000th Episode Will Be Epic

Posted by David Levin On June - 26 - 2012
If you are like me, you are counting down the weeks until Raw has its 1,000th episode in four weeks. See, I am counting it down like it's a birthday or something. There has never been anything like this on cable or evening television, and to think it is because of wrestling is, well, phenomenal. Not Seinfeld. Not Friends. Not even MASH. And all of this can be attributed to Vince McMahon. Kudos for being so creative. But along with the anticipation is the knowledge that something like this will not be lame; in fact, it may be the best ...

5 Legends That Should Be on the WWE Raw’s 1,000th Show

Posted by Brent Turner On June - 26 - 2012
It is quite a feat to produce a show that spans 1,000 episodes, but that is where Vince McMahon and his WWE find themselves next month.  I tip my hat to them as they reach this milestone.  At times, the product has been stellar, gripping the viewer for the entire two hours, while other times I have been ready to flip the channel quickly. That being said, here are five legends that I think should appear at the 1,000th Raw.  These are all individuals who are not affiliated with any other organization and would be able to appear.  I also took ...

7 Ways AJ Could Become a Major Player in WWE

Posted by Sharon Glencross On June - 26 - 2012
One thing has become clear in recent times: SmackDown Diva AJ looks to be headed for big things in WWE. With her infectious smile, sparkling charisma and, eh, slightly deranged personality, AJ has become the most-talked about female wrestler in quite some time.  Her involvement in the current CM Punk/Daniel Bryan feud (the two are set to face off for Punk's WWE Championship at Money in the Bank) has only heightened her profile in the promotion, with questions and speculation abounding as to just whose side she is on. Ex-boyfriend Daniel Bryan? Or new paramour CM Punk? Who knows? But this has emerged as ...
Allow me to preface this rant by saying that this has zero to do with John Cena as a person.I respect the man for the things he has done outside the ring. I don't care who you are, you have to respect someone who has granted 300 wishes. This is strictly about John Cena the "character".With that being said, I have tried, tried and tried again. Really, I have.I have sat through the goofy promos, the no-selling against just about every single one of his opponents—both on the mic and in the ring—and I have watched the Shoulder Block of ...

Why Offering a College Scholarship Could Do Wonders for WWE and Its Image

WWE is a world-wide brand which specializes in producing wrestling shows as well as numerous other products such as films, promotional merchandise, music and more. They are considered the greatest success in the history of the wrestling business, but even with all those fans and all those dollars, WWE still has to deal with a negative image on occasion. There are many reasons why people will attack WWE—from the way they portray women to being a product based solely on violence.Vince McMahon and company have done a lot to try and change these perceptions in recent years, and even though they have ...
