As dire as the tag-team division may seem right now in WWE, it seems like the creative team is starting to make a concerted effort to ensure that tag-team wrestling is relevant again. The incumbent titleholders are Kofi Kingston and R-Truth, but they need a good feud to truly put the tag straps on the map again. There are actually several tag teams in the WWE currently, but I'm not sure any of them are capable of bringing the division back from the dead single-handedly. The Prime Time Players and Primo and Epico are each capable teams, but Darren Young and ...

Triple H: Now Is the Perfect Time for WWE Superstar to Retire

Posted by Donald Wood On August - 28 - 2012
While the WWE Universe is not as stupid as people may think, we as fans are not above falling into the storyline traps that the wrestling company sets for us. That’s exactly what Triple H was doing on Monday Night Raw—setting a trap. There is almost no doubt that Triple H is not actually retiring from in-ring action, but his speech given Monday and the crowd reaction made it feel like there could be a shred of reality to it. Just as it was when Edge was forced to call it quits. Triple H may not really be retiring, but looking ...
With the build toward Night of Champions starting to pick up steam already, the past week of WWE programming has certainly been packed with action. That was especially true on RAW as CM Punk officially cemented his heel turn, John Cena was granted his title shot and Triple H delivered a heartfelt speech. There is no question that this week's RAW was far better than most of the post-RAW-1,000 shows have been, and the new power rankings reflect that. There were quite a few impressive performances over the past week and it gives me hope moving into the fall season.Power rankings ...
For those of you holding your breath in hopes of a WrestleMania 29 dream match between CM Punk and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, please stop now before you pass out. It's not going to happen. A match between these two would be amazing. Their respective personas are complete opposites, so the perfect setup is there for the easy taking. CM Punk can moan about his lack of respect, while continuing to promote his straight edge lifestyle of no alcohol or drugs. He can talk about being the best WWE Champion of all time. Insert the Rattlesnake. It makes sense to have Austin be the man ...

WWE News: Scorpio Sky Pops Up in WWE as Harold from Anger Management Class

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Doctor On August - 28 - 2012
If you watched Raw on Monday, then you probably saw a few notable things; Triple H indicating that he might retire, Daniel Bryan in anger management class and an interesting character named Harold. Harold did not have much to do with the skits other than being there for Bryan and Kane to use as an innocent bystander. The skits were humorous and each one of them saw some attention paid to the man sitting next to Bryan. Harold is actually Scorpio Sky, better known to TNA audiences as Mason Andrews, the man who competed in the X-Division title tournament a ...

WWE: Why Ryback’s Push Needs to Be Halted Immediately

Posted by Bryan Haas On August - 28 - 2012
Ryback is a dangerous man. Unfortunately for his opponents, he's not dangerous the way he is supposed to be. For months now, the WWE has had a raging monster tearing through its ranks in the form of this musclebound superstar. Week after week, he is “fed” more inexperienced opponents, normally disposing of them within a few short minutes. Recently, he has been taking on members of the actual WWE roster, with the results being more havoc and chaos. The issue at hand is havoc and chaos, which also could be used to describe Ryback’s in-ring work. Each week, another competitor ...

WWE Tag Teams: Should Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder Reform Their Old Team?

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Doctor On August - 28 - 2012
With Tyler Reks officially gone from WWE after asking for his release, his tag team partner is left out in the cold once again. Reks was granted his release after he and Curt Hawkins had debuted a new stripper-type gimmick a week earlier. While it seemed ridiculous at the time, now it seems like it could have gotten them over. Especially when I think back to how ridiculous Too Cool and Billy and Chuck were when they first debuted. But now Hawkins is left without a partner, much like he was a couple years ago, when he and Zack Ryder split ...

WWE: 6 Superstars Who Deserve a Push from Management

Posted by Hector Diaz On August - 28 - 2012
For every main event-caliber superstar the WWE currently has on their roster, there are dozens of others that have not gotten their fair shot at the spotlight.  Whether they have not been pushed due to injury or some other unforeseen circumstance, creative has not given these superstars a chance to prove their worth.  For some, it’s the way they portray their character in the ring; for others, it’s the current state of the roster. Some are simply new, while others’ opportunities have simply dwindled before they ever got started.  Despite all that, here are six WWE superstars that deserve a ...

AJ Lee: Why Raw GM Has Been Too Predictable

Posted by Erik Beaston On August - 28 - 2012
Earlier this year, AJ Lee surprised the entire wrestling world, becoming the breakout star of 2012.At any given point this summer, she has been featured as much, if not more, than the company's top stars. It was the uniqueness of her character, the idea of a female lead character and the unpredictable nature of her actions that increased her popularity and led to her role as general manager. Unfortunately, the unpredictability that fueled her unstable character has taken a back seat to conventional booking. Since filling the role of GM, AJ Lee has become just another authority figure in a ...
