Wade Barrett: Will His New Persona and Style Put Him on Top of WWE?

Posted by Mike Chiari On September - 25 - 2012
Prior to suffering an elbow injury that kept him out for several months, Wade Barrett appeared to be in line for a major push. Barrett has since returned with an altered look and attitude, and while it hasn't paid dividends for him yet, it should lead to big things in the future. From the first second I saw Barrett on NXT, I knew he had the potential to be a big-time star. Not only does he have great size and presence, but he is very good in the ring for a man of his stature and his mic skills are about ...
Since WWE Raw 1000, audiences have been treated with torrents of references to Tout and Twitter. Superstars like John Cena and CM Punk have utilised Twitter and Tout for storyline purposes. Almost every WWE Superstar now uses Twitter. The two-edged nature of the new strategy amply demonstrated itself during JTG and Abraham Washington's episodes. WWE’s focus on social media marketing has become a subject of huge debate in recent times. In the IWC, the response to social media is almost universally negative. It was natural since Raw 1000 was overkill, and the heavy use of social media outlets hampered the show ...

WWE News: Beth Phoenix Denies She Attacked Kaitlyn, Challenges Eve

Posted by Sharon Glencross On September - 25 - 2012
Amidst rampant speculation about her future in WWE, former Divas Champion Beth Phoenix has taken to Twitter to deny she attacked Kaitlyn backstage at Night of Champions. On last night's Raw, Phoenix—in a rare TV appearance—teamed with Divas Champion Eve to take on the team of Layla and Alicia Fox. After the match, which Eve and her partner won, an injured Kaitlyn hobbled out to confront the team and noted that while she couldn't specifically name her assailant, she did recognize that it was a woman with blond hair. Cue everyone, including Eve, looking at the bleached blond and shocked-looking Phoenix suspiciously.Denying the charge, Phoenix wrote:  Thanks for ...

WWE: The Latest Reality and Ridiculousness of the Ultimate Warrior

Posted by Justin LaBar On September - 25 - 2012
Ultimate Warrior acts like one of the biggest heels in wrestling. Ironically, he doesn't even try to profit off of that gimmick. It's ironic because when you watch his rants on YouTube and hear the countless stories of being difficult to work with, I can truly picture him being the kinda guy that if he could sell the toilet paper he used, he would. The other day, I was in the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice locker room and several players were talking about wrestling. They were all talking about how much they loved The Ultimate Warrior. Everyone, whether you care about ...

Posted by Michael Prunka On September - 25 - 2012
WWE's Sept. 24 edition of Monday Night Raw went off the air with Ryback standing over the fallen Mick Foley and staring down CM Punk. The WWE Champion looked shocked—perhaps even a little scared—to see Ryback.Ryback staring down the WWE Champion was certainly a swerve. The tease of a feud between Ryback and Punk piqued the interest of fans, whether or not they thought it would be a good idea.Is Ryback a legitimate contender for CM Punk's WWE Championship? Not quite yet.Ryback has only begun to make his presence felt in the Intercontinental Championship scene. Wade Barrett: 5 Possible Entrance Songs for the WWE Superstar

Posted by Riley Kontek On September - 25 - 2012
The WWE, no matter how hard they try, cannot get the entrance song for Wade Barrett right. In his return from injury, he has received a new song, but it is just another in a line of crummy songs for the British star. His best theme thus far came while he was in The Nexus, which was "We are One" by 12 Stones. Since then, he has walked out to "End of Days" while in the Corre, which was a God-awful song. Then, he came out to "Just Don't Care Anymore," which sounded like he was a burnout surfer. Now, after the ...

Pro Wrestling’s Fastest Meteoric Pushes

Posted by Chris Featherstone On September - 25 - 2012
You'll hear many traditionalists and wrestlers, who have been in the business for a number of years, talk about how long they had to wrestle to finally get that break they wanted their whole career. It's for the opportunity to be the No. 1 guy in the company as the world champion. For Chris Jericho, it took 11 years; for Chris Benoit, it took nearly 20; for Randy Savage, it took 15; for Bret Hart, it took 14; and for Shawn Michaels, it took 12.While these five Superstars worked long and hard to reach that brass prize, there are some superstars ...

WWE Raw Results: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly for September 24, 2012

Posted by Cody Guinn On September - 25 - 2012
With the WWE in sort of a bind given John Cena's injury, Raw was going to be a good indication of where the WWE is going to go from here. So, did we get our answer?Quite simply: maybe.WWE Raw for September 24th was one of those normal, okay episodes with a mix of one or two good matches, a couple good segments, and the usual display of pointless segments. With that, let's take a look back at last night's WWE Raw: the good, bad, and ugly.Begin Slideshow
With John Cena in a sling due to surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow, it is quite clear that the WWE's pecking order has been shaken up a bit this week. Cena appeared on RAW, but he was unable to compete and likely won't wrestle for at least the next few weeks. He still managed to make an impact by hitting WWE Champion CM Punk with a lead pipe, but that wasn't enough for him to keep the top spot in the power rankings. Perennial contenders such as Punk, Daniel Bryan, Kane and Dolph Ziggler maintained their lofty standing, ...

What WWE Must Do to Revitalize the Tag Team Division

Posted by Adam Wells On September - 25 - 2012
Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart and Edge are three legendary wrestlers who have two things in common. One, they are all in the WWE Hall of Fame. Two, they all got their big break in the company starting out in tag teams. There are a lot more wrestlers who either started out in tag teams and went on to have amazing singles careers or worked best in a tag team throughout their careers. The point is, there is a significant place in WWE for tag team wrestling. However, based on the way the division has been beaten down over the last decade, you ...
