The WWE is doing the right thing. The momentum the company gained by a very good Hell in a Cell could now lead to a very good Survivor Series. And the fact that Team Mick Foley will meet Team CM Punk in a traditional Survivor Series Match is a good thing to build on for the next few weeks. With all that was good about Sunday night and the successful Hell in a Cell matches we all saw (I want to remind everyone how wrong I was about it being a possible epic fail), could there have been more lost ...

CM Punk Is Now a Champion on the Run After WWE Hell in a Cell 2012

Posted by Greg DeMarco On October - 30 - 2012
The time period from Hell in a Cell to WWE TLC is normally a down period for the company, with so many people biding their time until the Royal Rumble kicks off the road to WrestleMania. But upon the completion of Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, the WWE could turn this into the best late fall and early winter in recent memory. How? The answer is simple. CM Punk: champion on the run. Following his victory at WWE Hell in a Cell, CM Punk is a marked man. Punk put red in Ryback’s ledger, and the “human wrecking machine” is ...

WWE Raw Results: CM Punk Delivers the Lines of the Night

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On October - 30 - 2012
WWE gave CM Punk an abundance of airtime on Raw, and he ran with it. After the controversy surrounding him, Ryback and referee Brad Maddox at Hell in a Cell 2012, fans expected to see plenty of the WWE champ during the episode. They didn't see him wrestle, but he delivered every time he had a microphone in his hand. Punk opened the show by addressing the controversy.  He claimed to not have anything to do with Maddox's decision to take a swing at Ryback's testes. He made a kryptonite reference and claimed once again to be the best in ...
Note: A retail copy of the Playstation 3 version was provided for review. It should be largely identical to the X-Box 360 version. Anything there was a question about was checked against the X-Box 360 version in discussions with another reviewer. The online portion of the game could not sufficiently be reviewed yet due to most players being on the other side of the world in Saudi Arabia, where the game was released early. Any lag was likely due to distance, not THQ's servers. The latest game in the series that started as WWF Smackdown, WWE '13, feels like the most hotly anticipated installment ...

Is John Cena the Worst WWE Tag Team Champion of All Time?

Posted by Jamie West On October - 29 - 2012
John Cena, one of the most decorated WWE superstars of all time and a record-breaking 10-time WWE champion, is arguably the worst multi-time tag team champion in history. Cena, always regarded as a singles competitor, has held both the WWE Tag Team Championship and the now retired World Tag Team Championship twice. Throughout his four total Tag Team Championship reigns, "The Champ" has only managed to accumulate a total of 71 days at the top of the tag team division, an average of just under 18 days per reign: hardly what you'd expect of a 12-time world champion. So where did it all ...

WWE Hell in a Cell Review

Posted by Justin LaBar On October - 29 - 2012
WWE's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view provided WWE an opportunity we hadn't seen in a long time. There was no John Cena. There wasn't a predictability factor. There was a long-reigning champion defending against a new star. This promised to be big! Atlanta, GA was the site of the potential night-changing show. Did it deliver? WWE has been PG for approximately four years now and since that time we have seen a rapid change in the way WWE superstars conduct themselves in the ring, in the backstage segments and out on the streets.WWE programming has watered down its edgier content to appeal to the younger generation as it did in the late 80s and because of this, some gimmick matches have ended up on the scrap heap. The five gimmick matches in this slideshow highlight the brutality, sexiness and pure audacity of the yesteryear of the WWE.Begin Slideshow
Even though he lost at Hell in a Cell, Alberto Del Rio still came out a winner. With his performance Sunday night, ADR finally has shed the image that welcomed him to the WWE—that of a wealthy, aristocratic playboy who did not hesitate to flaunt his riches and wanted you to think that he was so much better than you. He now has crossed over into that rare area that separates the top heels from the midcarders and the wannabes. Del Rio’s character has finally become tough and relentless. Instead of letting his flash do the talking, he now is ...
